    Welcome to an exciting crafting adventure where we explore the art of creating sacred icons through the magic of 3D printing, silicone molding, and plaster casting! In this DIY project, I'll guide you step-by-step through the intricate process of crafting your own sacred icons using innovative techniques and materials.
    First, we'll dive into the world of 3D printing, harnessing the power of technology to bring our sacred designs to life in stunning detail. Watch as we transform digital blueprints into tangible objects, laying the foundation for our sacred creations.
    Next, we'll embark on a journey into the realm of silicone molding. With precision and care, we'll craft custom silicone molds from our 3D-printed masterpieces, capturing every intricate detail with unparalleled accuracy. It's a mesmerizing process that bridges the gap between digital and physical artistry.
    Once our silicone molds are ready, it's time to delve into the ancient art of plaster casting. With a delicate touch and a keen eye for detail, we'll pour plaster into our molds, breathing life into our sacred icons with each carefully executed pour. The result? A collection of stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces that embody the essence of craftsmanship and devotion.

    Wow, this comes at the perfect time for a project I want to make! Thank you!
    Can I ask what the different colors of silicone meant? You started out with a red/peach, and then moved to a blue for the second pour, and then an even deeper blue for the last
    Thank you for the inspiration!

      Thank you very much! Different colors of silicone are needed so that I can see where I applied it. If the silicone is the same color, then when applying the second and third layers it is difficult to see where the silicone is and where it is not. I hope I explained it well

    Hello. Great job! I'm interested in making my 3d prints in metal. What would be a good material for making a mould that would endure hot metal while giving a "high definition", sharp imprint? I'd imagine silicone moulds would burn/melt? So If anyone has tried it out I'd be keen to hear your thoughts, thank you

      @@DoasIDo2 Any ideas on how to pressure inject melted plastic/metal into a mold? So it would reach every nook and cranny inside the mold and wouldn't leave air bubbles?

    • @DoasIDo2
      @DoasIDo2  5 дней назад

      If you have a lot of cheap silicone, then you can fill it with one continuous word. For me, silicone is expensive, and in order to save money, I applied 3 thin layers, thereby saving 70%

    dumb question, why breaking the mold in 3 pieces, if it looks like it fit the 3d printer height?? thanks

    • @DoasIDo2
      @DoasIDo2  13 дней назад +1

      That's a good question. I did this to save plastic, so as not to print supports at full height. Printing the entire icon at once is dangerous; the printer may malfunction and a lot of material will be wasted.
