Nice review. I have last years model the A80J which is basically identical in 77 inch and I love it. The cognitive processor XR works wonders. Watching Dolby Vision and 4K content looks terrific especially at night. House Of The Dragon and The Lord Of The Rings: The Rings Of Powers I streamed recently were excellent. Once you go OLED no more led tv’s.
Yep just picked up a 55 inch A80K. Had to add a tv to the crib…put the A80K in my mancave. The X90J I bought last year which is a good tv in its own right, is in the family room now lol.. I thought the X90J was pretty good and it is.. but the A80K is definitely way better. It’s ridiculous how much better games, and and 4K shows look.. Even sports from the cable box way better on this TV.. My PS5 looks phenomenal and Series X looks good too. It’s true.. i don’t think I’d go back to an LED either..

Just ran across your video and I have the exact same TV , I also have the previous version A80J and encountered the same issue then , regarding Google Play Store. I figured out that if you press the Input button a menu appears and if you scroll right , Play Store App should be there. Hope this helps anyone else.

It strikes me deep when people say that 65'' is too small, I entered the store the other day to look at some and thought: Man this TV is HUUUGE!!!! - It was a 48inch TV. 55 is sooooo enough. also me in 10 years: sold my 77 inch TV, was too small.
Just bought 77” a80k today for 2700, same price as the c2 that I was dead set on purchasing, they only had the g2 on display which is better than the c2 and a80k but I preferred the sonys picture after watching both G2 vs a80k. I was told that the same lg screen in the LG evo (c2 and g2) is in the a80k, that sony uses both lg screens for the regular oled and Samsung for the qdoled a95k. Beautiful picture on that a95k that pops but it’s only 65” like the Samsung s95b. Really like the new qdoled tech but I need battlefield tested for my first oled. So same price a80k vs a C2, but to me the Sonys motion and picture clarity had me won over. I was set on motion department as soon as viewing all of the flagship models and sony stole my ❤ yet after at least a decade later I lay my old 55” sony 3d 240hz 1080p to rest its final days into the family room and let the new oled sparkle the living room.
Great Video! I just got this tv almost two weeks ago. It's my first OLED I ever owned. I got it on sale as well for 1699. It is stunning! I'm glad I bought a Sony. I love the simple/quick userface homescreen. Everything is setup nice, and clean/quick. I got this for my bedroom where I game alot using my Xbox Series X. Getting a nice tv, specifically an OLED & capable of 120fps(gaming) was the last item to complete my gaming experience. I am so blown away by everything this TV can do. One of the things I enjoy alot, and is cruical to have for me is the blutooth connectivity, so I can run my skullcandy crusher wireless headphones & earbuds through my tv. I knew the picture was going to be outstanding, but I was personally shocked of how the tv's speakers sound! It literally sounds like the speakers are coming through the center of the tv, like in a movie theater. The sound fills up the room real nice. I have made a commitment to myself that I wouldn't want to get any other brand now for a TV.
newbie question. Setup is as follows: Ive a Sony a80K with Apple TV connected to HDMI 2 and my soundbar connected the eARC port which is one of only two ports that support Dolby. HDMI 4 port can also be set to Dolby vision. However, my PS5 is connected to HDMI 4 because it is the only port that supports VRR. My question is, are there limitations to Dolby on the Apple TV setting if the HDMI can only be set to "enhanced" and not to Dolby? I hope that makes sense. Almost confused myself haha!
I turn off the clear motion setting or whatever Sony calls it. For colors I keep it to standard or cinema for the most part. My settings are quite simple as out of the box it looks good to me.
Have an A80K 77" that has been having issues with the sound, Linked to the Sony HTA 5000. Out of NOWHERE my remote volume control does not work and have to use the sony soundbar remote. when using volume it is supposed to show up on TV, seeing Auto System, on the left bottom side of the screen. When not linked up with sound ar one has to use the tv remote to turn off the TV and the Sony soundbar remote to turn off the soundbar. This is my 3rd month in having these issues, so far once a month Best Buy Geek Squad out to link it back up. This month March 10th, 2023 Geek came out and linked up the remote using Blue tooth, so still, the TV remote does not work with volume when I shut off the TV only the TV and sony go off, and not the Comcast box. Is anyone else having soundbar issues with this Sony A80K and HT-A5000 soundbar?
When u use a voice assistant on videos online.. can u out of courtesy block out the ‘ok Google’ part? Our machines lack intelligence to know it isn’t me
Does this tv have judder & blur when you are watching 4k? I just got a samsung qn85bd-series and the judder & blur on this tv is driving me crazy! I'm going to return it and get my money back and I want to know if this would be better?
@Biinhow yes I do. I tried Turing it on, all the way, I tried turning it off and different settings -- still didn't work. I'm returning the TV and I already bought this exact Sony TV 😁
Was the motion handling much better on the A80k now that you have it and what size did you go for? I have seen the 77" at the show room and it was the top banana, but that was showroom footage... cheers!
Hey, this tv just came in. When I turned this tv on, it "clicks" like how an "old tv" sounds when you turn on the screen. Does yours do that? It just "clicks" when I turn on, just 1 time (on or off). But the samsung doesn't make noise when you power off or on the tv.
Yes mine does that too. I like that because I know the TV is on. When it’s silent I have no idea as sometime android tv’s can go to sleep or take some time waking up

We never had that on mine. Not sure if it’s a setting you have or not
If i’m correct the cam doesn’t come with the A80K. Its supposed to be optional but its not available yet(?
