Pre-Draft he had a personal chef with a structured diet plan consisting of 6 meals a day. DK himself also enjoys cooking and wants to open a restaurant post-NFL. He did not eat like this to get to this point, he’s able to get away with it now because of the work he put in previously. Maintaining muscle is MUCH easier than building

I’d also argue breaking a fast with any carbs is suboptimal as well. you’re going to have an increase in insulin sensitivity anyways. I usually go with high protein and fats to break my fast, work out, have some dextrose and creatine after workout, and then regular meals. But sub-optimal doesn’t mean impossible. It’s all very nuanced and unique
Had a friend, straight athletic freak in high school. Many baseball minor league offers after high school. 6’5” 220 solid muscle. My guy lived off sugary cereal and ramen. Built different.
He did an interview a few years back during combine time and gave a detailed overview of his diet / workout plan. The guy was eating early and often - and his diet consisted mostly of lean proteins (chicken and steak) and a ton of vegetables. There’s no magic behind it, genetic freak or not it takes a lot of damn work to get there. I’d recommend watching More Plates More Dates’s breakdown of DK’s claim, he explains it in greater detail.

I think this just shines a light on the fact that once you have achieve a physical shape, it's much much easier to maintain, than it is to get to that point.

It's a special forces/gymnast diet. He eats one big meal a day at the end with a protein shake. Wakes up probably has some snack and coffee with protein in it. Works out has protein and certain candies. Gymnasts will be literally drinking honey while working out for 6 hours. It's go short, middle and long forms of sugars and proteins in it. Same thing with alot of candy. General petraeus and and General Mattis do the same thing.
Everybody has different digestive systems and genetics. Every diet out there doesn’t work for everyone. Especially one meal with 3 bags a candy a day smh lol

It’s def possible. The big thing is calories and how nutritious his actual meal is. Plus he probably has a maintenance calorie intake around 3000 calories because he’s tall and extremely strong.
Him being a professional athlete. He is probably on a much higher calorie diet than that. It wouldn't surprise me if he actually burned 10k calories a day.
