Now *THAT* was absolutely delightful and I loved every minute of it. I needed a story with witty dialogue which grabbed me from the get go and wouldn't let me down the entire delightful way. And who knew I needed that ending? As a matter of fact I need to read/listen to another of your stories. Soon, please? And no, I'm not a bot but an oldish woman in need of laughter and an uplifting tale to help banish the stress in the world. I'd rather escape into a world you've created for a little while. It's left me smiling.
A charming, beautiful witty and hilarious story and excellently narrated. Poor Laura. Her Mother expects help with the financial care of her family, Oliver expects help wooing Matilda, her Uncle expects her to encourage Matilda and Oliver toward each other, Matilda expects her to keep her secrets while taking the blame for her disappearances, her Aunt expects her to be both Governess in the day and Companion at balls at night, and to act like she is gentry without allowing her to dance or enjoy it. And to fail in any of this means poverty with no work reference. That is a great deal of pressure. My favourite scenes were the “flapping” ones. So humorous a picture. Thank you.
I was so pleased to see another story from Jess and narrated by Janna the two of you truly make magic. This was lovely I literally couldn't stop so ended up listening right up to the end. So it's midnight and I'm off to bed with a wonderful dream like story that can carry me off to dream land. Thanks so much for sharing your talent and a beautiful story. ❤your stories are beter than any tv show or movie and gives one so much hope for the beauty of the written word.
Now this story, unlike the other ones told from the first person's perspective, is not annoying but adorable! The story is just like that perfect cup of coffee! Just perfect!
Thank you for listening and for taking the time to comment! The plan is to get Matilda her own story of these days, but I'll just say for now that your instincts are pretty spot on. ;)
Haha. In the book it's conspiratorial, but good catch. I don't know how both Janna and I missed that in the proofing. But I guess if Janna only mispronounces one word of almost 60k, I'm still incredibly impressed. That's a whole lot better than I could do. ;)
@@AuthorJessHeileman🤣🤣. She's a wonderful narrator, but I seriously looked it up. There's been a few autocorrect have subbed for my texts, which actually ARE words, so somewhat in the words of your genre "Thought I was behind-hand with the evolving English language".
@@Kayenne54I’m definitely behind-hand when it comes to the English language. 😂 I’m guilty of making up words that I think are real when they absolutely aren’t. Which is why I looked this one up. I was pretty surprised to see that I hadn’t invented the word in question. 😂
@@AuthorJessHeileman It may be brain fatigue, or dehydration (both?), but occasionally a simple word will stop making sense and I cannot figure out if I've spelt it correctly. "Spelled" it? See, spelt has thrown me. "Is that even a real word?" will cross my mind ha ha ha...So no shade is being thrown on our lovely narrator, whatsoever. Seriously though, many thanks for your lovely stories.
I’m glad I’m not the only one. I once told my husband about a coronation and my husband followed up with a question regarding coronations. I looked at him and said “What was that word you just said? Coronation? I’ve never heard that word in my life.” He then repeated back to me what I had said and suddenly the word became familiar again. 😆🤣

Che delizia questa novella ❤
Cute story.. but Laura kept digging herself in deeper trouble with all those lies. I did enjoy the narration as well.
