I think her braiding her hair is only thing that had been given from her mother of elvish culture. Marcille herself only read about culture from books but never experienced it
Actually it has to do with channeling your magic, it can be done by meditation, hand signs or routines like braiding one's hair. Also a lot of mages are alcohol and drug abusers because alcohol and drugs are the fastest and most efficient way for channeling magic. Elves take pride in their magic, but most elves in the series don't have braided hair, they probably meditate or abuse substances. This is from official and from the manga.
I may have missed where this is and am interested cause it sounds wild. At the same time from some of the side comics from daydream hours for the Canaries this kind of makes sense.@@wyk997

@ItsYaBoiV I hope too. On the first look the artstyle looks simple. But it is not. There is so much detail in everything Kui-sensei is on my radar now and i would be please to see anything more from her.
I KNOW but this video made me start to think that that could be her representation of being free from trying to prove she’s more elf. Im still really sad though because I loved her hairstyles
Another small detail is that falin holds thistle to her (human part) abdomen. Here falin has a brood patch which is for eggs but BC she's been ordered to protect thistle she could be acting on a motherly dragon instincts.
My favorite part about hair being a huge part of elvish culture in this series is that its old school fantasy lore traceable to Tolkien elves, which really shows how big of a fan this manga artist is of the DnD and Tolkien kind of fantasy
Also, I didn't notice this until it was pointed out to me in a hair braiding tutorial, all the elves in The Lord of the Rings wore fishbone (fishtail?) braids in their hair. When I worked at David's Bridal, a coworker, who was just a new hire at the time, pointed out that my hair reminded her of Legolas. This was because I intentionally styled it that way, that day 😅.

Marcille also seems to connect her magic and her hair. Her staff is grown into a braided shape and she did grow the staff herself, like she did with her hair. And you can see how connected her magic and her hair is when she deliberately covers it in blood when she casts the resurrection.
That burning/pain tolerance is kind of at odds w/ dwarves’ internal heat tolerance though, when Laios turned into a dwarf he realized that Senshi & Namari don’t wear full plate armor because they’d overheat
I haven't read the manga, but I'm almost certain that Marcille's father was human, based only on what I saw in the anime and one of the images in this video.

Did dwarves develop heat resistance because of their long history with smithing and mining, or did they have that resistance to begin with, making them simply uniquely suited for that niche?
Spoiler Intuitively, it's reasonable to assume that durability came first, and dwarves just assumed the role they turned out to be good at. However, it is strongly suggested that different races have been artificially produced from a common ancestor via forbidden magic, so it's quite possible that dwarves were indeed purpose-built for these jobs.
