    Do you have any tips for variable weather in Gran Turismo 7?

    • @aussieexpatwatches

      No, that's why I look up this video. I was slipping and sliding all over the place! Had no idea that thing on the left was a wetness meter.

    • @busbyboy77
      @busbyboy77 Год назад +1

      Yeah I've come up with a great one. If you're using a Gr.4 car the Huracan is a beast, and the 458 is a lot of fun, but in a safe way. I'm yet to try the Gr.3 Lamborghini in the wet, but I think most of that class would struggle against its little brother. Thanks again for the great advice and content ✌️

      I had no idea what the left gauge meant, so thank you so much.

    • @Storm_CW
      @Storm_CW 4 месяца назад

      I disagree with the thresholds somewhat
      Need to be knowing your pace overlap especially when you're looking at gradual weather changes.
      Typically the pace overlap is just before the 1st third from dry to inters, then about 1/3 to 1/2 up to the 2nd dial from inters to wets.
      Blue is aquaplaning territory. Even wets struggle to shift the water well enough to maintain grip, so when the meter turns blue it's a sign for you to log that part of track in your mind and try to avoid it if it's on the racing line.
      Funnily enough, a game like Motorsport Manager (mobile and PC) are underrated for depicting the same cut-offs on these conditions, because they spell it out for you.
      Also, drivetrain helps a lot with the risk vs. reward of this too. MRs (especially in Gr.3) have a wider margin of error because they inherently put more load on the rear axle. The same is true in a Merc AMG or a Mazda RX where the weight balance is slightly rearward.

  • @DamageXcaling

    Excellent guide Chris.
    Extra tip: Wind direction its an extra tip that tells you how the clouds are going to be dragged into the track, if done well you can predict the coulds trajectory to either if it's going to pass through the center of the radar where the track is, or if its going to pass through above or bellow and miss it.
    Green clouds= light rain, means you can equip inters for the majority of the rain phase.
    Blue spots within green clouds = indicates heavy rain and those will massively increase the moisture meter to the point you will have no grip on any other tyre that it's not heavy wet.
    If track starts to get darker, switch up to radar, and check from where the rain is coming from and check the wind Direction first, then the size of the coulds and make your decision.

    Great info. The main annoyance for me is driving a very long track like Le Mans, the weather can change from 100% dry to 100% wet in less than half a lap, and you often don't even have an opportunity to change your tires by then. And sometimes you change them but you're suddenly back to dry conditions minutes before you can change back. It can definitely be too dynamic at times.

    • @Doughtinator
      @Doughtinator  2 года назад +2

      Yeah I agree exactly. Getting caught out for half a lap on dry tries with a downpour is a nightmare.
      For that race it’s best to get yourself in a 4WD GR4 car to minimise this suffering. 👍🏻

    The weather really is dynamic as been caught out a few times at Le Mans and Spa as had heavy monsoon rain with standing water just the first pit stop so fitted full wets, only for it to stop a lap later and quickly dry out again until the end. The AI cars all stayed out on slicks and I never managed to catch them up as had to quickly ditch the wets for another set of hard slicks as destroyed the wets well before my next pit stop window. Think I finished 3rd where usually I lap everyone in those races. Generally though even if it rains I try to stay out on whatever tyre I’m on until my first scheduled refuel unless I start losing significant pace and grip.

    hello chris , ive found the im's have the biggest working window in these changing conditions , the full wets just chew up and wear out the quickest and arnt very good, even changing from auto to manual when it starts raining is a help to control wheel spin and slide , also the driver aids turning them all on to full, this can be mega helpful like the traction control from zero to full can save you heaps in lost time by spinning out , also putting the fuel map to 6 will stable the car down in the wet with less swaz through the full rev range
