Do not be fooled by traction control, it is an aid for beginners. The limited slip differential (LSD) is traction control for the professional driver. Traction control limits the rotation of the driven wheels, by lowering engine revs. The LSD also limits the rotation of the driven wheels, but it does not lower engine revs. Can you see the immediate advantage? Learn how to tune the LSD, and in the process of doing so, you will understand more about the car that you are driving.
Wow,if you can I will like more help with this please.
Great tip. Something I learned the hard way a number of years ago😂
I’ve tried playing with it but it’s very complex
at the same time, one has to still have the foot for the job, can't be too ancy on throttle, be patient and be smooth. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast after all.
What’s a reasonable way to understand the racing LSD? I vaguely get it. and I’m not completely retarded but I feel it’s so nuanced compared to a simple TC Level of 1-3
I find I’m using Traction Control far more than I ever did in GT Sport.
Yeah absolutely. It seems the best way to save a slide is to back off the throttle a bit. TCS works really well now 👍🏻
Im a masochist and have been trying to gold all the licenses with 0 TC on my g29... these new physics makes the FR cars oversteer so easily, specially when its raining! you really gotta caress the throttle compared to GT Sport
@TheSofaking5191 in what sense do you mean? 😅
@@kmba_66 yea fr cars are too easy to oversteer I been using traction control more than ever 🤦🏽♂️
I find myself using it way LESS. It slows down any car way too much compared to gts. Losing seconds a lap in cases making what would be easy races super frustrating
I appreciate you explaining things. Keep up the good work! If you ever make a tuning/upgrades guide i bet youd do a good job there too
Thanks Joe. Really appreciate your feedback. 👍🏻👍🏻
Im new to gran turismo, and youre the only 1 ive found to explain things
Super cool that you are doing this for those beginning, having had the benefit of your guidance in GT I know that it will be essential and of high value to all.
Like deployed 👍
Thanks Chris! I will need to experiment with the force feed back on the G29, thanks for the advice
No worries Kurt. Definitely experiment. Find what feels nice for you. There are no ‘wrong’ settings here.
Honestly I felt they did such a great job with gt7 in terms of teaching you how to drive without assists. I played sport with cone markers on but I started gt7 with no assists other than weak abs and I’ve already learned most of the tracks pretty well.
Put assist on and see if you are faster

Hello,
thank you for all these very complete and interesting explanations, on my side after a few hours of play I had the unpleasant surprise to see that the counter-steering aid was active and once removing it was a completely different driving and mastery of the vehicle I found the gran turismo that I like (I should have seen your video before) on the other hand it is true that the traction control depending on the track or the car has easily risen to 5 me I prefer to force myself to stay between 1 and 3 knowing that I drive with an automatic gearbox because I'm disabled in one hand and I still managed to do the first 3 license in gold, the fourth I can't do IA3 because of the update and the S license I haven't tried it yet I preferred to concentrate on the circuits and make money once I pocketed my supra Gr 4 because I know that like in any gran turismo the money will be rare and hard to win so I race on high speed ring 97 500 cr with the sup ra gr 4 equipped with nitro with a ballast and a power reduction set the ballast to 48 6 94 in the vehicle options and doing a clean race becomes easy to farm the money and buy all the new cars from the dealership before doing the race coffee mode and trigger the second-hand market here is where I am ... good race to all
Thanks for your feedback. Glad to help.
Yeah it’s a shame the rally’s are broken with the update. I’m sure it’ll be fixed soon. 👍🏻
RIP Cone Markers 💙 F to pay respects

I always had it on, but I didn’t really look at it
F
I always used them for when i had to brake.
I’m playing with my two sons and this video has given me more ideas for how I can impose some handicaps on myself and make it easier for my kids to enjoy the game more :)
Very informative and useful, thanks :D
For some reason I had ABS off the whole time up to car collector lever 10. I kept wondering why my braking seemed so much more intense compared to the CPU's 😭
My lap times has improved so much after setting it back to default!
Awesome. Glad to hear it 👍🏻👍🏻
@@Doughtinator Aren't you supposed to tap and work the brakes instead of just mashing them to keep them from locking up without ABS?
The people who complain about using TC/ABS are ridiculous. These are features used in REAL RACE CARS. Not in all cars in all leagues of course but it's patently ridiculous to assume that turning on TC/ABS is somehow a crutch. With the ridiculous horsepower of many cars, they simply would not be controllable without these technological features.
100% agree.
Upcoming channel right here. Very well done Sir!
Thanks Man. Really appreciate it 👍🏻👍🏻
This helped a lot. Great video appreciate you. 🙏
Glad to help man 👍🏻
Very informative Chris 👍 Any recommended settings for wheels that might make it easier to catch a sliding rear end? (I know I’m on a different wheel to you though)
Thanks Al. I think. With GT7. Catching a slide is A LOT more about getting out the throttle rather than opposite lock. I think that’s why TCS works so much better in GT7 than GT Sport.
However. I think a higher sensitivity should give more hint on what steering is needed for the slide.
I ran my FFB at a 2 on strength and a 10 on sensitivity on GT sport but on GT7 it seems best at like 7 strength and 10 sensitivity. Let me know if this helps. - Logitech G29
Have you tested any fanatec wheels or other direct drives? If so what do you feel is a better purchase? I got the game few days ago ... Def want a wheel
Nothing better than a British dude explaining cars. Thanks for the tips!

Thanks for the video very cute explained 🖤🖤 helped so much

Great informative video brother! Subbed 🙏🏻
Thanks man. Really appreciate it 👍🏻👍🏻
I went from GT6 to GT7, skipping GTSport. I have to say although I never used it myself, cone markers were my favorite way to show clipping points and just like real life can be knocked and moved around. My dissapointment seeing it wasn't an option was higher than I thought it'd be. I understand if they didn't want to have to put cones on narrow high way circuits but most already have wall mounted clipping point markers in some way shape or form so all I'd want is cone options for tracks that can support it
Absolutely! I might start a petition to bring back the cones 🤣
@@Doughtinator i'll sign it, bring back the cones!
@@Doughtinator pls start it fr we need it
As someone who bought GT Sport before Xmas to try and get up to speed before GT7 was released, I was absolutely gutted when the option of having cones wasn't there, replaced with a hideous intrusive red braking zone and some dropped in map pins! Especially when a lot of the hud/convenience features seem to be taken straight from GT Sport. BRING BACK THE CONES 🍦
So many views man !! Nice hope the channel takes off!!
Thanks Man. Yeah this video is really doing well. Hopefully it’s helping a lot of people with GT7
So I go by SB1073 from Gran Turismo 6 aids for that series like skid recovery , steering assist just to mention don't seem to be in part 7 or is it named something else?
Something you didn't talk about, the trigger effect strength. On strong it won't allow you to have full throttle control, it will jump upto 20% a time where as with weak or off you have full control.
Interesting. I think this might be a PS5 specific setting. I’m only on PS4
@@Doughtinator yeah its to do with the active trigger effects on ps5. I'm mainly a wheel player but did some testing on controller and defo made a considerable difference.
My hands hurt on strong. It was like driving a real car 😭
Been using TCS 0 and counter steer assist on weak. TCS neuters a cars potential far more now than it ever has before. Counter steer assist has saved me from random slip oversteer even when TCS is enabled.
Thanks for sharing you findings 👍🏻
Good video, hope to see you on track soon!!😁🙌🏼
See you on the track 👍🏻
7:25 force feedback sensitivity is actually works like “minimum force” or “ffb deadzone” at pc sims. What it does is if you set it to 10, there will always 10% torque applied by the force motors constantly and you will eliminate the deadzone at the center. For example most of the logitech wheels have around 7%-8% force deadzone and it does not react to the forces below 7% that sent by the game so higher values will give you an accurate ffb and smoother experience.
That’s a great technical explanation. Thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Dead zone doesnt mean the car doesnt steer like the master Aris from assetto corsa explain , it's about the ffb that does give you info if the wheel have dead zone in the centre ( cheap 200.300 dollars wheels )
Good point Bobby 👍🏻
@@Doughtinator hello ! Any fov and camera settings for the cockpit view in gt7 ? I cannot find this info anywhere, thank you
@@bratosin1 afraid no FOV settings as such. There are more settings than GT Sport. There is a option to offset the in car view so if your rig is off centre from the middle of your screen you can have the screen match that. Hope that helps 👍🏻
hello to have the steering of the g29 softer, the force return sensitivity must be at maximum or minimum? while the torque return of force to the maximum or to the minimum?
Lighter settings would be lower on both settings. Higher numbers is a heavier/tighter feeling.
Thanks for this video. I’ve just got a G29 and this game is my first ever time playing any sort of driving game with a wheel and have been having some issues with trying to control the car I can get so far but can’t get perfect lines or my braking right seem to keep over cooking it or not able to get around fast corners always
I’ll definitely try out your settings too.
I also assume some races your going to need to really tube the cars up to keep pa e with the others anyways regardless of wheel or car settings.
Yeah. Tuning will be a big part of the main campaign. 👍🏻
@@Doughtinator thanks for the reply tho. Your video really helped. Finding the right braking point and entry speeds is my biggest challenge.
I’m gonna try your g29 setting out and go from there.
What have you used to mount your wheel to is it a special rig? I need something that’s foldable as it goes in my living room. Any ideas?
I just clamp mine to an office desk. Works ok. In the future I’d like a nice rig. But for now I’m doing it for the casuals 👍🏻
For settings. Definitely experiment with the force feedback settings. Higher values work well on the road cars that move around on throttle a bit more 👍🏻
Hi Dough. If you have the 75 Ferrari 308, any chance that you could tune it for Dragon's Trail? I can't seem to get it right. I barely managed 3th for the Cafe Mission to collect Ferrari, but I want to know better settings. Thanks. (I'm editing a livery for you on the VW Samba bus. )I'll let you know when it's ready.
I’ve not got to that cafe book yet. When I do I’ll let you know 👍🏻
@@Doughtinator I'm waiting with .... anxiety and anticipation :/
When I turned off the Replace Car After Leaving Track, it doesn't seem to have any effect in any GR.3 race because it will restart to the track if your car goes off track.
Yeah this is a strange setting. Not sure if it works that well in some races.
A fantastic video!!! Thanks for sharing.
Any settings recommendations for those playing with PS5 DualSense? Or may I apply the same settings?
I’m totally new with GT universe and would really appreciate any comment.
Thanks 🙏🏻
I think most of the recommendations work for any controller. But don’t be afraid to experiment a bit too 👍🏻
Mario Kart aside this is my first racing game. Having a blast with it. But omg, I turned off tc in game when I thought it controlled what gear that I was in. 😅😅😅 thanks for this video, now I know why my cars all of a sudden started spinning out of control really easily, lol. Now I can turn tc back on one and use abs.
Thanks again. I'm subbing to see what other useful things you post about in the future. Have fun racing.
Welcome to sim racing. Great to hear people getting into it. Thanks for the sub 👍🏻
Nice one thanks for the info
Hope it helps. See you on the track 👍🏻👍🏻

Very cool
Anyone else find the braking indicators is different from GT Sport?
In Sport you would hit the brakes the moment the word Brake flashed on screen.
In GT7 it feels by the time the word Brake is on screen you're probably already too late.
I find just before it comes on you hit the brakes.
Yeah I think there are lots of subtle changes from GT Sport.
The braking zones IMO tend to just be suggestions, I end up getting on the brakes at the red and it's always too early.
@@Cheezus yeah if you brake properly you can brake way later than the flashing light
Loads of information…Cheers bud
No problem Lee. Hope it helps 👍🏻👍🏻

Hi, I’m trying to find a good setting to start out with on controller. Do you have any settings you recommend because I struggle a lot with steering around corners
If the car feels a bit too twitchy with steering response lower the controller sensitivity.
If you feel the car is too lazy with steering response. Raise controller sensitivity.
Larry Stevens Subscribed! Need more stuff like this for sure mate 👍
Thanks Man 👍🏻👍🏻
Do you know if you can tune the default settings for the G29 on G Hub and have them apply for GT7? I’d like to reduce my time for the wheel to lock.
I don’t know actually. I’ve not tried.
I’d assume no. I think GT7 takes ‘control’ of the wheel settings.
Great video, thanks.
Glad to help 👍🏻
With regards to the cone markers missing: I miss them too, esp when learning a new track. I do have the feeling they put more corner markers in though, more recognisable points for braking and turning in. Or is that just in my head, adapting to the missing cones?
Yeah I think you’re right. I used to struggle without them in GT Sport. But in GT7 I can find more references 👍🏻
I’ve been playing gt sport for years and using all of these features slows me down a lot. If your new to the game use whatever you need to get better but over time the goal to be fast is to have all the assists off. Traction control is probably the most difficult to get used to on 0 but by far the most important for fast lap times.
I’m on abs weak and traction control at 3. But going to set it to 0 tomorrow when I play and see how I do. Ai game difficulty is set to high. But it’s very hard to win races but I’m having fun so stick with that ai difficulty for now
@@michaelschneider1365 I wouldn’t go straight to 0 might be a bit frustrating if you do that all comes down to good throttle control and working out how to counter steer if you start to slide, keep practicing and within a few days you’ll have it on 0!
That’s good advise. Reduce it slowly to get a feel for it 👍🏻
@@Doughtinator I’m going straight to 0 traction control when I play later tonight and abs week. Will see how I do. I’m on hard ai what about you?
I’m on hard Ai too. It’s good fun like that. Is defo try ABS default though. Pretty sure that’s what works best 👍🏻
Nice Vid!
Thanks David 👍🏻 let me know if this helps.
Thank you enjoyed that , just bought yesterday , what a great game 👍 sub 👍
Awesome. Thanks Colin 👍🏻👍🏻
Is there a way to adjust the actual rotational sensitivity? Or is it lo ked at 1:1 steering Rotation? I would prefer to only have to turn my wheel 90 degrees and have it do a full turn in game.
I don’t think there is a way. I think with the wheel it is usually fixed 1:1 ratio.
I was so comfortable driving Gr.3 and Gr.2 cars without TCS in GT Sport, now in GT7 it’s driving me nuts, feels like I’m learning anew.
Yeah man. 100% with you on that one. It’s ALL changed! 😳
Glad it's not just me I'm really struggling with the driving on this one, on racing games I would never usually need to look at a videos for the right controls but this one I feel I wont be able to get any golds without it
@@Doughtinator just wondering are you on PS5 because your driving seems smoother than mine
It’s more realistic I feel cause it’s like this in games like assetto corsa that are aimed for realistic sims.
@@denismulabegovic2147 yep, nothing wrong with that, driving has become trickier so I expect a steep learning curve to be good at it again 😄
Nice vid, subbed
Thanks Man 👍🏻
I have noticed the gearbox braking indicator to be inaccurate at times, sometimes so much that you will slam into a wall if you don't brake a second or 2 before it flashes. It is especially noticeable whenever the track conditions change.
Yeah. I never trust those things. 👍🏻
Yeah. Unless you have the best brakes out there. Then it seems more accurate.
For nordschleiffe its a trick with the gearbox and the way i drive that makes me much faster with a lot off cars this works for most other tracks but not all ..
the trick is a quite wide gearbox with a high top speed geared in a way you can hang in corners on low revs 1 gear higher then the indicator suggests it makes me go 20 km faster on some corners wich is a big deal if you can pull that off consistantly over longer tracks or in endurance races
The only assist I use is abs. And I'll use TCS in the rain. But if I'm able to tune and the car is a good handling vehicle I'll try to tune well enough for rain. But when you're thrown into a mission or license test just turn TCS on for rain lol.
Does anyone have a problem with the abs light flashing intermittently even when not braking and driving in gt7? My brake lights are also blinking intermittently when in third person even though there is no brake input indicated
It could be that your controller or pedals is just barely registering a bit of brake input.
What is your best Force feedback settings thrustmaster t300 rs on Grand Turismo 7 on ps5 please that would be much appreciated thanks and keep up the good work and I am enjoying your videos thanks Jason
Thanks Jason. I’m afraid I’ve never used the T300 but I’d recommend starting with my settings in the video and then tube max torque to be the strength you like. 👍🏻
I’m on PS4 but I’m using 4/1. So max torque 4 and sensitivity 1. That’s my way to go for this game. And yeah I’m on a T300 RS.
THANK. YOU. Bets vid on this topic.
Thanks man. Happy to help 👍🏻
4:16 i tried without the countersteering on but it made me more difficult to win the next races, it slips a bit more, loses traction when i streer as posible to take the turn and when i downshift, the car spins out or loses control for no reason even if i use racing soft tires, why does that happen?
I think those assists are actually very useful. Back in GT Sport those assists were disabled and not allowed in multiplayer. In GT7 they are allowed. If they work for you then use them 👍🏻
Help. At some track, I am using the left right buttons to steer on my steering wheel and at some corners for some car, the driver would not steer even I press the left or right button. Or the driver steer at 5 deg, until I hit a wall or put some gas before the driver wakes up and turn at higher degree. Help
Surely the wheel controls the steering not buttons?
I've settled on TCS 2 for most situations. Can get a little loose for quick flicks without spinning out
Yeah. Pretty solid choice 👍🏻
@@Doughtinator are you planning a video on tune settings? It's really in depth in this release.
There is A LOT with tuning. I’m thinking about it. But I need to make sure it’s right so it might take a while.
Many thanks.

If you’re better or have more experience racing, take traction control off, it give more freedom and can help you to get faster laps, 1-3 seconds. And it does make a difference, I recommend to start to play without traction control because you’ll get used to it fastet
Yeah. I agree now. Especially after 1.13 update 👍🏻
so, you set these settings on the Time Trial menu and they apply for all other aspects of the game?

I’ve been using motion controls I found that it really gives me the nuance in steering that I desire
Yeah. I know some people really like that 👍🏻
U can use motion controls? Like move the controller left or right to steer
Yeah. You can choose this from the settings menu in the top left of the world map 👍🏻
How do I change the drive mode to stop being motion activated and to use a left stick instead ?
If you go from the top left and choose options from there all of the control types you can choose are in there 👍🏻
That car specifically is very stable, I run it with no tc or 1 tc. However, there are some cars out there that I struggle with even at 5 tc and trying to modulate the throttle.
Yeah for sure. Some of the muscle cars are crazy! 😳
A fully souped up m3 is impossible to drive with TC
@@Doughtinator im having a bunch of trouble with the Mustang menu, I was given a '69 Corvette convertible and suped it up and now can't control it at high speed!
Try adding a rear wing and also set it to max rear downforce. That should help 👍🏻
I leave the braking and line indicators on it just makes it more fun for me some tracks i am pretty good on with or without but in general they help me judge the speed and helps me focus on driving i take them with a pinch of salt i use them like a guide and once i am used tocthe track 3 or 4 laps in i ignore them and docmy own thing there are some tracks where a certain corner always catches me out again after 3 or 4 laps i just follow the guide roughly and it helps me enjoy the game without having to restart over and over just my personal opinion that in "real" life you have 3 dimensions and the feeling of speed and braking so using this makes it more realistic for your average driver the pure hardcore racers will remember braking points ect i use it the same way and use it how i want to so as long as you dont completely follow it exactly and just find your own way they are worth leaving on and i dont think its cheating at all!
Hi Doughtinator, I need some help. I use the pad. I use the force max torque feedback to 1. Instead, for the force feedback sensitivity to 9. I do not know if it is correct, and I do not think it's fair.

Countersteering dosent aid against spinning out, what it is is when you turn left or right, countersteering will try to turn the wheel in the opposite direction AFTER you recenter the steering wheel or controller stick to make steering smoother and not so snappy, basically smoothing out your high speed turning from left-right

Which is Fastest? Controller or Wheel in Gran Turismo 7

Don’t think you can. Afaik the game determines the rotation degree based on the car that is being driven.
Have you tried Ferrari Berlinetta?? Full upgraded for some reason slides on the road with every pedal push like road has oil. I don't know if is this any bug or what but I'd annoying

I also used the cone markers on gt sport, missing on gt7 really messing me up atm
Absolutely! 👍🏻
Same I played with cones on sport but I didn’t like the new set up on 7 so I’m learning without guides. I just brake really early, then slowly and slowly brake later and later till I find the best braking point. You’ll also find natural land markers on the map to tell you when to brake the the meter markers or the black square signs you’ll see on some tracks like lago maggiore. It just takes time but I suggest you try the same the brake markers typically make you break very early imo.

I have a detailed video on LSD settings for RWD and another for AWD cars. 👍🏻

can i turn on all the assist markers accept the braking zone? i dont like how its such a big red area, it screws me up all the time. but i really would like the yellow markers and the drive line.
Yes. Yellow markers and the driving line are separate from the braking zone indicators in the assists settings.
