  • Spent last Sunday cleaning up my desk. It was a little too messy for my taste, so I spent a few hours rearranging it. I think it looks way cleaner now and it feels more open.
Now it just needs a new coat, and fixing the stain, but until I can find someone to do it I will use it this way. It will be a PITA to completely remove the tops but it will be worth it.

I am aweare that the built in mic in the iPhone is not great, so after shooting a few videos like this, I have decided to rebuy a Rode Wireless Go II kit and started using it on new videos. The next few will still be just iPhone audio, but I already have new videos uploaded with the new mic and the difference is very noticeable!

    Cool video man!
about the staining on your woodtops, you probably put the monitor there before it was completley dried in? Then also, not sure how you stained over the clearcoat, that doesnt seem right to me, usually you do clearcoat at the end. Either way, if it was up to me, I would get mousemats to the same size as the tabletops, that way I wouldnt have to do much more with the tabletops.
I love cleaning up setups, I went from multiple displays and now I only have the bare minimum, no cables no clutters etc. Best feeling in the world

The stain is factory, I didn't do it. I had this desk for about 4 years. Nothing has stained it before, so I have no idea what happened. It stained the clearcoat somehow, and I am afraid to do any crazy removal tactics because I don't want to scratch or matte it out.
The shape matches the bottom of the monitor base, which has a black rubber/plastic thing on it, probably for slip protection but as it was sitting there for about a year, it stained. It almost looks like some dye, as it's not totally black, you can still see the woodgrain through it.
