Only "shady" because it isn't federally legal, and in a lot of states it is taxed three to four times more than alcohol. If you aren't a multimillion dollar corporation, it's almost impossible to make money. Of course they are going elsewhere to make their 🥜. You would do the same

He's very enthusiastic & knowledgeable about marijuana. He cares about purity of the product & customer service instead of focusing on profits like the rich owners. His complaints could be said about a lot of industries that deliver a product to the consumer. Mass production lessens the quality & options of what the consumer gets. He sounds like he idolizes the utopia of making the best avail like those who have a ethos small farm vs. a huge manufacturing. One cares a lot about the animals vs. the big prod. of just moving it through to profit.

Make a new mistake, there is a reason why these people are hiring basically temp services out of central American countries to do the work. I doubt that it is because they want to provide opportunities to people less fortunate than themselves. They’re probably saving a lot of money on having to pay into the Unemployment fund, having to pay into Social Security, People with legitimate work permits, will pay taxes to California in the United States as far as I know, but judging from the constant reminder that this is a huge money business, you have to realize that they’re doing it for some reason other than convenience or altruism.

Interesting interview, but some stuff he's saying is incorrect. First, indoor growing isn't just two decades old. There have been 1000+ plant indoor grows since grow lights were invented. "Legalization" has only made it easier to build commercial grows and keep their doors from being kicked down. Also, the only people still focusing on THC% testing are "for profit" growers, dispensaries and ignorant buyers. As a grower, myself, all I focus on is terpenes. Since we've started studying terpenes, we've learned that each individual reacts uniquely to each terpene, so for instance a "14%THC" Skywalker could affect me harder than it does you and it could also affect me harder than a 30+% ICC or StarDawg, etc. The industry is too focused on archaic marketing BS and not interested in approaching it from a medical standpoint of getting the correct strains in the right hands based on knowing what each terpene is good for (headaches, appetite inducing, etc.). This is because cannabis is still largely viewed as a drug and not as the medicine it actually is. You wouldn't take Advil to help you go to sleep, ya know?
He is correct about black market seshes though. If you're in a state that has them and you're still buying from dispensaries, you must like mids and wasting money. All the real quality is sold at seshes on the super cheap.

There is a reason names like Kush and haze are as popular as they got, the genetics are superior. THC isn’t everything when it comes to a good high.

I totally get what he’s saying. I used to smoke heavily before legalization, now whatever this stuff is I cannot. It’s so different, makes you feel way different. It’s not the good Ol make you happy & goofy stuff we used to smoke back in the day.

When I was a teen in the 80’s, I remember the game of trying to score a quarter. Sometimes it was pretty good but most times it was Mexican dirt weed or homegrown. It still got us high tho. Now I can the get the best bud anywhere anytime (so cal) but all I do now is have a square of thc chocolate so I can get to sleep every once in a while.

I live in a med state and there is no heart and soul in the weed industry! Ive worked grows, trim jobs and dispensaries and shady isn't even the word!!! Weeds getting bugs and heavy metals get passed by paying of the inspector! Feeding the black market, feeding organized crime, human trafficking and I'm sure even worse than that DEATH! I would love to be in the industry but the last commercial grow I was at there were so many guns, being shot constantly, heavy drinking and heavy drugs everywhere. I finished that job and left as soon as I can! The weed industry is GREASY!!!

I started smoking when i was 14 and i smoked heavily all the way up to 37. I had cut back to mostly just weekend smoking for the last few years and then finally completely stopped a year ago. Giving it up was one of the best things i ever did and i honestly wish i never went near the stuff to begin with. Everyone's different I suppose but for me it was had a very negative impact on my life and I don't miss it at all now

It guarntees to cause depression and altered speech over time, and can cause much, much worse like psychosis and violent psychosis.

I worked in a "mental" hospital for a short time, I never saw anyone admitted there because of pot or high THC levels.
Alcohol, Heroin, meth, definitely seen plenty of patients, young and old, struggling with that.
