68 Camaro Pt 6 - Android Stereo Install

- In this episode Chris installs a new Android powered head unit and speakers into the 68 Camaro. We go over running power and accessories to the new head unit as well as running speaker wires from the rear to the front of the car, and mounting front speakers under the dash.

the same thing happened to my locking mechanism when i was 19 years old, but that was about 1999-2000. im glad im not the only one that this happened to.

Chris with your car being a classic what wiring harness did you use,looking to put a double din in my 66 mustang
Try to use the same color and gauge wires that your head unit uses it helps for trouble shooting later on and avoid those little wire joiners

Protip: if you install some wires yourself, take coloured ones. So next time u dont have to measure everything out again if you have to change or modify something. I usually go: ground - black, constant 12v - yellow, accesory - red.

+B is for Build Which model head unit is this? I have a base 2013 Mustang GT and it has almost no music features. Id like to add this or one just like it using a dash kit.
To be honest mate, you should lower it even more, in my opinion, it still looks really high. I love your channel and your videos, keep it up!

You should swap a manual transmission into this Camaro! I think that would be a good upgrade, and, a neat video or set of videos.
Pretty sure that dash was hacked up by the previous owner. Also surprised there is less flaming for cutting the cover.

+Myrmeko Me i actually dont know, i know with ordering coilovers its easy but im not sure on newer cars. On the camaro its not possible. Ill be trying it on the BRZ once i get it going and ill make a video explaining how it ends up.

This is not pure android it has some sort off manufacture skin on it.
+Simas/Mc yeah its some random made up brand from china, basically the factory that mass produces these in china is the "brand"
+B is for Build while im not qualified to help you with car stuff i might be able to sniff out a more stock version of android for you to use for that. It would make it a bit more simple&responsive.
We got an android headunit with the same exact skin, I thinks it works very well for listing to music and pretty fast for an radio. not fast as an S5 or G Flex 2 though.

what brand was that head unit? o.o i feel like ive seen it before and if its the one im thinking of then dont run an amp to it...
i figured. which means its likely got the same shitty ass output from the rca connectors. so for sure do not run it to an amp lol its very weak signal 1st of all and really choppy wave form. meaning its easily distorted which means youre more likely to have amp and or sub problems. >.> i hate when chinese products are super low quality and almost unusable.
lmao well i own 2 vehicles and am planning a system that will be 10,000 watts rms. :) so im worried about it

First generation Camaros sell like hotcakes when they're in good condition. Anyone looking for a decent project would pay a pretty penny for that car even with the newer stereo.
Sad to see such a classic car get tore up. Could have put that in the glove box or built a box to put it under teeth the ashtray of the transmission tunnel

Why not just install an iPad/Android tablet + an amp to drive those speakers? It doesnt require any cut to the dash board lol
