bravo!! Im just learning this piece (the intro at least) and have been taking lessons for 3 years now. My version sounds much different, haha. Keep up the good work
Lovely playing. I've always thought of this sonata (as contrasted with Bréval's sonata in G) as a work primarily suited for didactic use, rather than for public performance. But these players make a very good case for its being recital-worthy.... Can anyone out there tell me why it has no slow movement? Did Bréval write it in just two movements? Or was there originally a slow movement, which has been lost?
I haven't I am afraid. But perhaps listen to the original with Sol Gabetta or here is a young talent: ruclips.net/video/mgnbz45iBew/видео.html and go straight to: 0.48"
Yes this is often one of the first pieces a cellist learns, but that does not mean it can't be a serious piece. I learned this like 30 years ago, but still enjoy playing it. Wonderful to hear such an excellent performance!
😲Oh no I must play this😬 It's Beautiful but not easy😂 (I'm 12 ) edit: i am 13 now, still love it (also *have to haha) thanks for your cute comments, love my cellos
I agree, but anyone can play this if they really tried. I am 13 and can play this by heart. I believe that the only difficult part is the part were you have to skip strings. But yes it is very beautiful.
I’m 14 and using this song and it is very pretty. I originally was going to play The Swan but turned out another cellist was already doing it. Anyways, I picked it up pretty quickly except the trills tripped me up a bit, all in all, I really enjoy it! Nervous but excited for Solos and Ensembles in 3 weeks 😅
My son when he first playing this peace he was not that good but after he listened to this song he got so much better and Now he is playing like a professional at this piece
I am a 6th grade cellist, and am playing that as my new york state school music association performance piece. My tripelets are different than yours, and I'm wondering if I am doing it wrong, or if you are holding a note too long.
I'm 15 just started playing cello, and this piece sounds great for me- UNTIL THE TRILLS! I cannot for the life of me get my fingers to move as fast as hers. Anyone know how to get good at these?
Yes i played the cello when i was 7 now im way older and you just have to do the trills slowly and then when you think you're ready to do it fast if that doesn't work try it slowly again until you memorize it. It always worked for me and my teacher told me to do this when the trills are hard. Hope it works for you :)
Start of with a simple short trill (only one "twiddle"), then when you feel quite comfortable and at ease with this twiddle (first trill in first movement for example: fingering: 242121) you can increase it to one more: 24242121). However, I would not increase the amount of trills until you have played this movement for quite e few months. Meanwhile you can strengthen your fingers by practising certain exercises like Cossmann (studies for developing agility, strength of fingers and purity of intonation) or - if Cossmann is a little too hard still, just practice a scale with trills or triplets. However, the first Cossmann exercise (fingering: 1434,....,1424....,1323,....) is very effective indeed!
I could (have) watched & listened to her play all day long! Rest in Peace Susanne Beer.
This is a great video especially for the students with limited access to cello lessons during the global pandemic! Thank you
Have you got the sheets there?
@@jo21e6 I have

A slow movement is not required.
I think sonatas are quick and cheerful, like you played it. Nice job
@@euomu True enough.... A slow movement is not always 'de rigueur'.
Nice Playing!!!!!!!
I was so clean and it helped me very much tnx🌹🎻
I sorta like your interpretation of ths piece. Pretty cool

This is the best one I've seen on youtube, probably because most of the other videos are of kids playing, no offense to you. lol
yup
yeah, that woman probably plays a lot better but it is very rare to find someone who plays kinds song like an adult cellist

You are not doing it wrong. It's just a question of interpretation.

It’s a nice long video
Good!
Very gooooooddd video!
why is the sonata broken up into different parts are they each in sonata form or nah?
I'm playing this on cello but it is SO hard to play this 😮😫
Harder oefenen en dan lukt het je
I play the celoo and i have to play this song
Just for me: 4:14

Note: I need more vibrato on the accented entrances (D, B, G)
starting to learn this after 5 months of learning the cello
lying! just if u are a genius 😒
I am not a genious! But i do play it
Alaska Young do u play it as fast as her?? I don't think so!
Definitely not with the same tone. I could probably attempt it at 5 months but it wouldn't sound very good, and I was at Suzuki book 2 at 5 months.
Alaska Young i've been in classes for like 3 years and my teacher hasn't taught me this (but i can play the prelude of the suite #1 though) :'v
Rondo grazioso 4:32
