I love her pacing! She really is enjoying it as she’s playing, not trying to show off her speed or her technical prowess- just the tintinabular lugubriousness of her instrument serving the sovereign grandeur of our Great God who gave us Bach. Listening to this is my way of continuing the birthday celebration of JSB, which started yesterday!
Absolutely agree, this is a perfect interpretation. I don’t want rubato in a pro performance of Bach! This is so moving and musical. A favorite I will be coming back to.
