Got this when it first came out and sadly only used it a couple of times. I think it’s time to take it out of storage and learn photography like I wanted to do so many years ago.
I found a T1i with EFS 18-55mm lens at a thrift store. $30 with 25% off for senior discount, so only cost me $22.50 , no charger. After I bought the charger on eBay and charged it up. The result is good after I tried with different lenses. That’s a steal !
I'm in the same boat I have just dug out my 500D EOS I have no idea how to use it. It has sat in a camera bag for years. I bought a cheap tripod off Amazon to help. I have two lenses EFS 18-55mm and 55-250mm.
I got this from my dad because I'm about to take a photography course online. Honestly surprised at how good this looks given how old it is. I mean, I was 5 when this came out.
still got my t1i and 500d , accessories are cheap and plentiful like lens ect , used them to film and photograph local dam spillway failure in 2019 just wished i had grabbed my tripod before evacuating . many documentary's purchased my photos and videos , and i appeared in one on science channel engineering catastrophes season 4 episode 7 second part and many episode intros after this aired . great hobby and these a good cameras and at the price they are much less risky to take out and damage than other options .also great to use for experimenting and learning photography
Were you abke to video well with this. Someone just gave me one and my intentions are for short clips and photos to pull together stories for social media and reels etc.
This is my first ever camera n I love it, it does get things done as long as you pair it with a good lense n you know what you are doing You’ll get the most out of it ❤️. Still using it but planning to upgrade to something much bigger 😊

Hey bud, I just came across this camera, was wondering if you had any recommendations on what lens I could pair with this to take shots of birds and such? Thanks

@@SixStringShredder Are you sure it isn't a 32 MB card? 89 shots is extremely low for 32 GB. Thanks! It shoots only a couple frames per second. So not good for sports or wildlife or anything that changes quickly. Can it work? Yes. But it will be more difficult than cameras only a little more expensive or slightly newer.

@@violethill4454 that’s a fully electronic lens, so you should see the blades when you look down the lens and change the aperture with the camera on. Not a bad lens if you’re shooting during the day outside or you have plenty of light.
@@PhillyNichols i see, so could my lens might have been broken? because i can't see the aperture blades closing in and out whenever i adjusted them manually

I have been using this camera for 13 years! Great camera. It pretty much my aesthetic at this point lol

What type of external flash would you recommend for a T1I?
I don’t typically use flash, but I hear Godox has some good quality and budget friendly options.
Great vid..and amazing quality btw i could hear you talk all day
Hi, does the 500d and the 650d use the same lenses? I mean, are they compatible?
Yes, both of them use lenses marked EF-S or EF.

Is it worth installing magic lantern?
The hardware would hold you back. ML will add some cool features, but you would be better off finding a Rebel T3i and using ML on that camera.
