We've been trying to figure out how to get Companion and StreamDeck to talk to each other and your video finally got us there! We don't even use QLAB 🤣. Thank you!
Can you shed some light on this setup. Everything works with the setup with companion and stream deck. The only issue I am getting is when I want to add companion buttons to stream deck so I can setup each button that correlates to the page I consistently get a unplugged icon and stream deck states (connecting to a locally running companion, make sure that you have at least version 1.3.0 or higher) which I do. Do you know why it wont connect. I have followed your instructions to a tee.
Same issue here. I am running newest version of Qlab (5.2) and cannot seem to make it work. Stream deck is showing all preset buttons from companion list for qlab. Going to test an older version and see if qlab and companion decide to shake hands.
ya, there has been significant updates and alot of people are having problems. I currently run montery on my mac and my qlab version is 4.7. What versions are you on and maybe we can help eachother?

So.. I'm running stream deck and companion. I can use the emulated version of my deck on my mac to fire qlab cues but the physical deck doesn't fire anything.
alot of variables to ask. But will try. Are you on the right stream deck page? have you assigned a key function to the stream deck? is companion still running when you launch Qlab? it needs to run in the back ground.
@@aaronwilson9465 Thats odd. Without being there its kind of hard to trouble shoot. The emulator works witch means companion is is getting the message through. Have you tried a different computer running qlab and companion ? it could be a preference setting within your pc.

Good point, I've run to exactly same issue when setting up my new Deck.

For some reason it says I need to "enabled support for the Elgato Plugin in the Settings" how do i do that?

@@arnelcayabyab1033 had to use version 4.7 and enter the interface IP address to get it working!

This is a great video! I'm running Stream Deck 5.2.0 and I don't see a Companion or a Custom option in the menu. Am I missing something?
Companion is it's own software. Download at bitfocus.io/companion/

My buttons appear but they do nothing. Everything is connected and I have the Stream Deck app turned off. At a loss why...
