  • I’m going to show you how you can improve your battery life on your Alienware Laptop.
    Disclaimer: This will not guarantee you better battery life. It also depends on what specs you’re rocking on your Alienware Laptop
    I had to record off an external monitor because whenever I record my desktop with the laptop screen, the recording just comes out blank. Probably has to do something with GeForce Experience & the integrated graphics.
    Sorry for the boring video. I just wanted to get some information out there.

    I’ve noticed increased traffic for this video over the past few months. When my new laptop comes in, I’ll try my best to make an updated video while being shorter.
    Edit: The new laptop came in & I sent it back. Probably not gonna buy another one

    Damn, I've already done ALL of this stuff, and I managed to increase my battery life from 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours... A god damn shame. I also don't have optimus supported on my 300Hz display and Dell won't downgrade it even if I pay them. Dell pretty much won't do anything to help you if you're past the 30 day return window, no matter what warranty you have. Kinda pissed with my smooth-brained purchase. After all my changes, my laptop literally runs like a 2003 windows XP piece of shit (cpu max usage is 7%), but still lasts only 2 hours LOL! Don't get me wrong, when it's plugged in, it's a god damn beast and is 3x better than any desktop I've had, but I just don't understand why it's so difficult for it to conserve power when just sitting on the desktop! Since I can't return it, I'm fucked and I just have to spend all my money on some high-end portable battery packs to charge on the go.

      @@SiGuy_YT I think it should work out okay, but honestly if I wasn't about to start college, the amount of absolute performance delivered by this laptop is outstanding and I would be totally fine compromising battery life for it. Hopefully wall outlets are plentiful at my university HAHA

    Greetings, I'm trying this for alienware m15 r7 rtx 3080 model. QHD, 240 hz.
    1. disable gpu in alienware cc ( is it better to disable in disk management? )
    2. lower refresh rate to 60hz
    3. keep the brightness to min
    4. keep the fans off
    5. Advanced power options- max cpu processing on battery mode to 90%
    I've made a normal profile with rtx gpu disabled, and my fans keep kicking it up, running almost always. ( I live in india where its pretty hot, most times ). Any tips on how i can regulate fans to save battery life? Getting less than 2 hours of battery life sadly and i want to learn more to optimize this.
    My laptop is discharging at -67k .. so thats serious. i would greatly appreciate some more advice.

    • @SiGuy_YT

      What kind of temps are you getting on battery? There might not be a solution for that due to your location.
      Also, is your CPU made by Intel or AMD?

      @@SiGuy_YT I have the intel i7 12700H CPU.
      with a few tabs of chrome, torrent, alienware cc, msi open- the temps show 53 to 58. during gaming, it goes upto 78, 80s ( skyrim with mods, will learn using throttlestop ).
      I have been able to see optimal battery usage thanks to these tips. now 60% of the battery says 190 min remaining with wifi off and all. not so great now, is it :(

    • @survivinglife262
      @survivinglife262 Год назад

      also.. the custom charge settings in bios are messing up. i set up start 50 and stop 80. it worked fine for 1 day and suddenly the battery stops charging at 74% !! should i be worried ?

    • @SiGuy_YT
      @SiGuy_YT  Год назад +1

      Since this is an Intel chip, there’s not much you can do now with all the tweaks. This video quite old & I’m pretty sure there’s better optimizations out there.
      My only suggestion would be to get a USB C charger for on the go since the battery doesn’t last long. My M15 R3 supported type C charging, so I assume the newer ones can do that as well.

    • @SiGuy_YT

    • @SiGuy_YT
      @SiGuy_YT  2 года назад

      Hmm, I’m not exactly sure what’s the reason behind that. Is your always at 100%? I heard that having your battery just constantly at 100% is not the best thing to do

    • @andriizakrevskyi5335
      @andriizakrevskyi5335 2 года назад

      @SiGuy_YT  2 года назад

      Yeah, that’s sounds like a good idea.

      From what I know, if there's no advanced option in Alienware Command Center, then you're unable to use Alienware Command Center to undervolt your CPU. It's most likely locked. You can try an app like ThrottleStop. They're plenty of youtube tutorials out there
