This looks interesting, might pick it up when it comes out. Would be great to see a DS9 board tile set and Cardassians and stuff. Though I am most interested in the 3-4 player potential of the game.
I love this type of game and looking forward to purchasing. I like the look of the miniatures if I could change anything I would want the art style on cards to be drawn not photos to fit in with the aesthetic of the boards and miniatures. The boards look great hope there will be expansions with new locations.
The game looks fun and then boards and locations look great but please listen to all the fan feedback/comments and reconsider the head sculpts on the miniatures. Perhaps just keeping the same sculpts but decreasing the size of the heads could work!
If you look closer, the gear they are holding is “oversized” like the heads. They’d actually have to reduce that, too, or beef up the bodies. Maybe there was a licensing issue where Modiphius has the rights to “realistic” miniatures and GF9 had to go the… cartoony route?
Great tutorial and fantastic game, i hope there will be more expansion and a solo/coop mode!!! But i have a question about the team composition. In the rulebook, it is state that i can swap a specialist with a specialist and a commander with a commander so, for example, i can change Riker with Piacard and Shelby with Laforge. However, in case I want to change other characters (besides Specialist and Commander), I could for example also include Deanna and Wesley in my team and then go beyond 4/5 members or is there a limit to their number and so I could do for example 1 commander, 1 specialist and 3 at random? I read the rulebook many times but this rule is not specified… Thank u!
Ive been wondering exactly this. System i came up with is the pips on the charachter card. Your total crew cannot exceed your pip half. Sorta works but not flawless.
@@kelvingriffiths6017 yes, i was thinking the exact same thing and that is to leave the number of characters in the base team. I’ll give it a try. Thank you for the tip 👍🏻
@@francescomoscatelli3457 Your welcome my fellow enthusiast. Now i gotta figure out if mixed faction play is possible like attack wing. Not sure here as technically yes (the Q expanison basically encourages it) but it seems only that expansion. Wouldnt be suprised if in a year or so we get a mk2 starter set that addresses these issues.
Question for GF9 that I havent heard answered anywhere. How does mixing the away team sets work? Lets say i mixed charachters from Riker and Picards? How many members can i take? Who can I take and what is the system for fair balance?
Just got my starter set painted up. Just the expansions to go and q... Plus, give us some sweet tidbits about future releases please, whats next for the romulan and borg? They desperatley need more options already, escpecially now feds have Kirks crew soon.
Well, the boards look nice, but those miniatures are truly horrible - maybe they will reissue the game later with better realistic miniatures that don't look like half melted chibi.
All that money spent on getting the Star Trek rights and then you make awful looking miniatures. Compare them to the Star Wars and Marvel miniatures games!
My guess is, much like how Games Workshop wouldn’t let FFG make minis for their Warhammer licensed games, so they had to make busts and whatnot, Modiphius has a license on “realistic” Star Trek minis, so this is a legal workaround by GF9. If it REALLY bothers you; grab the equivalent sets from Modiphius.
The modular map looks slick. I hope there are toolbox expansions so that on-planet away missions are possible as well.

Really like the comic art style minis and can’t wait to see what future holds

I like the semi cartoon look personally but each is own.

It does look like fun.
It is fun. Hilariously so if you can find the q prize and use him.

Good video expanation
LIVE LONG AND PROSPER!! 🖖
This is awesome but, Spartacus expansions. When?
Looks interesting but do change the sculpts. The heads look a bit big for the body. Maybe make them in line with the size of like Heroclix models
have the game a solo mode?
I guess I'm the only one who likes the miniature style.
They do seem to be the marmite of game mini's... People seem to either love them or hate them 🤷♀
@@GaleForceNineGames I always paint my minis so they won't look similar to each other.
@@GaleForceNineGamesi love them
Nah i love them too.
I would buy this game if the heads were not oversized
Yeah, I agree the heads why in the world did they had to make it oversize.
Star Trek always gets the shaft on miniatures…

In person they are pretty nice to be fair. And they paint up nicley without too much hassle.

I just don’t get it. They look like Funko Pops…

@@allthingsnerd.4484 True... but aren't their cards or something that the same oversized heads and equipment? :(
Very cool, I'll be picking this up and giving it a go...when is the scheduled release date?
Due to hit stores & letter boxes / door mats from 12th April, but you can pre-order now from your FLGS / online retailers or direct from GF9
@@GaleForceNineGames 12th April or do you mean 12th August...if it is April, that is still a very long way off...
@@mackbolan1733 YES, August, AUGUST, no idea why I wrote April. Good catch
