About to play my first Attack Wing game tonight. Your video has been very helpful. I've been playing X-wing for 7 years and I'm glad some of the concepts transfer over.
I wish I hadn't clicked on this video. I had no idea this game existed, I had no idea it's virtually compatible with X-Wing Miniatures, and I have absolutely no clue how I'm going to be able to afford buying into this. Ironically, this is a better X-Wing tutorial than any X-Wing tutorial I've ever seen. Bravo!
Thank you so much! You've peeked my interest, I might look into this. I would love to see more shows that show how the DS9 station, or the Borg Cube / Sphere play. Thanks so much for being so clear.
This is useful information. I used to play Mage Knight back in the late 90s and early 2000s. I read the rules and it seemed easy enough, seeing it in action puts it all together. Thanks for the informative video.
Star Wars! No, don't go down that path. I've played with the 'Tony's'. Lot of fun. Good popcorn, great table talk, and the battles tend to be tight. Great review and how to.
This game does look interesting. Having played Epic Space Marines (Warhammer 40,000) in the past, I can somewhat relate to what you are saying here: set point start, dice rolling, movement, squadrons, shields, armor and so forth. We have a number of old Star Trek and Star Wars board games here in our volt that we having tried sadly. But, I don't recall hearing about this one. Thanks for sharing.
How do you deal with ship bases involved and the Ferengi muradiers the ones who sell the drinks and are into money how does they ship normally work? You see them operate bars and casinos.
You really should check out Starfleet Battles, which is still published. SFB can be as deep as you wish or keep it simple. Immensely flexible but truly it shines when cranking up the tactical depth to max.
Lately I've been really interested in purchasing the game but can't seem to find the original set and expansions at a reasonable price. I'd love to be able to play but it's seems like a pricey investment. Any suggestions?
I asked for the starter set, dominion faction pack, and the USS Excelsior for Christmas. This seems really great but I think battle sets would be cool, as would increasing the number they make. Battle sets would be expansion packs with ships from famous battles, like USS Enterprise and USS Reliant.
Great video thanks! I bought this game a long time ago and just have not played it much since, so this was a great refresher. One of my problems is opponents. What AI system are you talking about for solo play? Would love to check that out. Thanks!
Yes it is good fun but not to boast but mines better lol. The Star Trek Armada PC games inspired me to create a board game using my Star Trek Micro Machines years before Attack Wing came around and I've gotta say mine had more depth. Being official ships they look better than the AW ones and I also added some elements from the Star Trek CCG which just enhanced it so much more.
You're free to mix factions as much as you want. Some people will house/tournament rule faction pure, but for friendly games, you can make the call. If you are mixing upgrades from one faction to another, you pay a +1 SP penalty cost for each upgrade that isn't from the same faction as the ship it's on.
I played the old 1979 Star Fleet Battles board wargame, back in the early 1980s, but it became too slow and complicated, so my friends and I played the cadet training rules (or the earlier Introduction to SFB rules). 16 impulse turns and pre-plotted moves done twice per turn (write your first half of your movement at impulse 1 and then your second half at impulse 8 (if you can still move)). - How To Play: Star Fleet Battles Cadet Training Manual- Lesson 1 ruclips.net/video/cfcqUWdQBL0/видео.html
I like the vid and love the channel. I'm a gaming channel too, It's always nice to see people enjoy the things you enjoy, keep up the good work. You've got a sub from.
If the game is anything like the tv show voyager than species 8472 will imeadeatly destroy every ship in its path with no difficulty at all. Even borg cubs...
The Tek property is screwed up, and specifically the combat in the actual fiction. Why anyone plays any of the games really baffles me. I've tried lots of them, and SFB was the one that gave me a sense of Trek combat, and that game got out of control with all numerous vessels and other expansions.
So where's all these missions! The missions are what put me off this, I bought the original starter and it only has two 3 player missions! CRAP! I mean a fekking starter box that lots of people will be using as two player and it only has 3 player missions in it and only 2 at that. Wizkids are robbers! Can only get new missions with new ships, also CRAP.
This is an excellent tutorial. I have introduced two different game groups to Star Trek Attack Wing and used this video prior to play. Thank you.

Excellent video, but what do the tiny icons mean on the ship cards?
Shuttles? Asteroid protection?
I've been thinking about getting into attack wing, I love the klingons. This was very informative. Tah.

Not surprised that I found you here.

The Enterprise had a ring phaser around the dish. Are there no side firing arcs?

Hi, I am looking to buy large quantities of ships but am having trouble locating a site to buy them. would it be possible to reccomend a site?

Are you still playing?
Where did you find that game mat? It looks awesome!
What a great intro to the game! Just got it yesterday and this was so helpful. Fantastic quality too, really impressed. Keep up the good work.
Great video! What company made your map?
Good vid, thanks! BTW, who makes that games mat please?

jtkirk86 Packs like the Borg Cube w/ Sphere Port and the IRW Valdore have AI missions. Otherwise there are a lot of downloadable missions online.
Great vid, liked and subbed. Been an X-wing guy since release, debated getting this one many times. May finally take the plunge.

Quick question, can you only play with ships in one faction or could you have a mixed fleet of federation Klingon and romulan ships?

Die is singular. Dice is plural.
Dude star wars armanda is closer to star trek attack wing than star wars x wing haha
