"The captain who hated Picard because of Locutus." You guys went Sisko, but I'm all-in on Captain Liam Shaw. That was my absolute favorite reveal and saved Star Trek: Picard for me.
Great playthrough!! Can’t wait to see the next. I have all the expansions so far (Q included) but have only been able to try Romulans and Gowron in addition to base teams. What is really great is the factions FEEL like the factions they are. The Klingons are all about combat and dying honorably, while the Romulans (my current favorite) are very sneaky and subversive and try to avoid combat when possible… but can fight well if need be. Q adds a new twist where it is 4 different scenarios with him. The first three have him causing mayhem as one would expect, and the fourth has him demoted to human form and BOTH players have him on their squads. He has separate decks for when he is immortal (screwing with everyone) and mortal (allied to your team). I hope you guys do more playthrough videos of this game with the other factions soon!
The Romulans have been my favourite to play too. The Federation and Borg can just ignore the enemy and concentrate on missions. The Klingons are the other extreme but the Romulans get to play both
Glad you covered this game. I love that takes the best elements of underworlds and improves upon them. Objectives are extremely thematic, combat is intense (because of choice when to reroll), factions/characters play in unique but easily understood ways. I hope they keep expanding the game without adding complexity.
I agree that ST:AW has many excellent additions to the Underworlds engines. I'm not sure surpasses its parent (Underworlds is just so tight), but ST:AW is the best of the derivative games in this lineage.
DS9 was the best series as a whole. Garrek was the best character in all of Star Trek (Don't even try to change my mind). I like that they weren't afraid to get the Star Trek universe a bit "dark" and "dirty." Not everything was a perfect utopia.
Great vid, thanks for taking this on. I'd love to see more. ST: Away Missions is totally derived from Underworlds' ruleset, with some cool changes to reflect a less physical confrontation setting. And like the current Rivals/Nemesis format in Underworlds, ST: AM can be played with the preconstructed deck or do limited deck building with the extra cards that comes with the set. I also think this is the game that most feels like an episode of ST. As such, it surpasses nearly all other ST games for thematic fidelity. Only ST: Fleet Captains reaches ST:AW's level, though FC reflects a season of Star Trek instead of an episode.
Great play through, your let's plays are always easy to follow. I don't think you can stun borg, you do damage instead. Stun would only stun and no damage onto anyone else. And I think ranged weapons can be used in adjacent hexes, just that melee weapons can only be used in adjacent. I'd love to see some more of the factions in action :)
"This is the story of your favorite captain, because this is the moment where he hates Picard." The judges would have also accepted Liam Shaw as the answer. Lower Decks for life!
Great to see this game on the channel. I was wondering, will you (or do you have in the works) do a bat rep on A War Transformed? I appreciate it's a relatively crunchy game and perhaps not "current TY Meta friendly" but it has a Sludge vibe but the grim is cranked up to 11. I need thay Dark Souls in my life xD
Great episode. As a B5 fan I always enjoyed DS9 the most of Trek's as it also leant into that overarching space opera storytelling, and allowed for characters to have flawed personas. Loving Strange New Worlds too, although I soon soured on Discovery not for tedious anti-woke reasons but because of the ship being a giant mcguffin and everybody (especially Michael) dramatically whispering all the damned time, no matter the situation or emotion supposedly being conveyed. Bah!
#1 was #2 today.
Great video. And timely, because I was on the fence about buying this game, and now I will mostly because it looks so FUN.
Thanks.
A great service that Ash Barker provides for sure!!

The romulan set is loads of fun.

Thank you for toning down the banner
?
I screwed up a render and didn’t catch it until after it went live lol
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGamesI assumed it was an intentional homage to the oversized heads on the figures?
What is this a banner for ants? Jk 4:29

That looked really fun! Thanks for the great vid, guys.👏👏👏
Great to see some Away Missions content. Hoping you'll bring the same fun energy to Star Trek Into The Unknown when it drops.

Picked this up from your last review. I actually like the big heads, I can actually paint the faces and eyes 😅
Great vid, thanks for taking this on. I'd love to see more.

Love that it’s thematic, love that it looks fun as fuck to play
JAY!
Assimilating Riker was probably a bad move, he is only going to detract from Borg perfection.
First contact
Small correction but there’s no Martok in either of the Klingon sets
There is in my heart
tempting.......

We've played this a few times the Borg are almost impossible to win with unless rolls completely are one sided.
You have to take advantage of Hivemind and use the updates from the faq
It’s called away mission but you don’t leave the ship?
The other side of the boards is a Borg ship.
Both ship sides are derelict ships.

Give you access to....terrible costumes. LOL
