Starr, I'm absolutely in love with you! YOUR empathic emotions for this song is exactly how I felt when I first listened to this remastered version. I wanted to give you this huge, tight hug and feel the love that radiates from your beautiful soul. Your reactions to all of the Floyd songs exude what a loving human being should be like; but this song...gets me every time. Floyd is a full on symphony orchestra for young and old to enjoy. Great music touches everyone. I wish we could blast this song non-stop in Ukraine and Israel so all the hate could feel this perfection in their souls. Of course I'd also have this video shining on a beautiful cloud for all that hate to see. Love is the answer and you have that gift. God bless you always.

Until the backup songstresses are shown belting out their notes, the song seemed to be missing just a little something. Once the gals are seen, there's no void remaining, their melodic contributions are easy to pick out veering in and out of the main melody. Wonderful!

David pulls the right string again with this solo.
His guitar seems to add emphasis to the lyrics, allowing them to reach our souls.
Add to this the sublime voices of the back-up singers, and goosebumps spread all over your body.
This is what makes Pink Floyd so different from other bands, their music goes through the ears to reach the soul.

There is not another guitarist ever (alive or dead) that brings out the emotions that David does. He is simply the best to ever do it! I agree with many of the comments here that this is actually his greatest solo. Comfortably Numb is always referenced (deservedly so), but for me this is his crown jewel. Absolutely no way you get through this song without being touched in some way.
