What an upgrade brother ! Awesome exhaust set up ! By the way, hearing Penny's excitement when you took the baffle out at the end of the video was priceless! Put a smile on my face since I am the same way when I hear my bike 👍 Stay safe guys cheers from new york 🥂🥂🥂🍺🍺🍺
You got that right brother, she absolutely loves it, to so many people the sound a bike makes is important. Take care and have a great weekend both of you, and keep safe. D&Px
What a beautiful looking exhaust ! Great tutorial as well. Love the tip about using the little sharpie marks to make sure everything stays snugged up like it should. That tip would be valuable for exhaust work on any type vehicle. Obviously the exhaust note minus the baffle was Penny-approved. 😁 thanks Del and Penny for such great stuff. God bless and be well. ❤👍👍
Thanks Rick, always appreciate your kind support and words, am glad you're enjoying this project as much we me! Have a wonderful weekend there and keep well, PPx
Wonderful video, Del and Penny. Besides the subject matter, the great result and all the usual reasons for my enthusiasm, it's great to see a return of the narrated tutorial in the vein of your older Simple Skills episodes. I only speak for myself, or course, but I do not feel like you are teaching me to suck eggs (an expression I was not familiar with until I heard you use it). I have also not reached the point in my life where I think I know all there is to know about ANYTHING and I hope I never do! Take care, be well, ride safe!
Thank you, as always, for your kind words of support... we're glad you love the videos! Have a wonderful weekend both, keep well and ride safe! D&Px
I have fitted this exhaust to my 08 Scrambler EFI and found that the heatshields are not sufficient to prevent the exhaust from burning through my trousers. As a solution I wrapped a section of the pipes in exhast tape, that did the trick and looks good. The system also pops and bangs on the overrun a little more than I like but it's on for years now and it's staying put.
I had considered that in the event it's a problem, although the rider of this bike is a fair way shorter than you, and you'll find if you seal all the joints with heat proof silicone it will reduce popping by about 80%... although most people quite like it!
@@Moonfleet41 Thanks for the rapid reply Del, yes I've gone down the heatproof sealant route but the popping remains, it's not a huge problem though and I'm happy to live with it. May I take this opportunity to thank you for your excellent assistance over the years. From a complete novice I have gained the confidence to carry out dozens of jobs on my bike, even re-building brake calipers, changing lines, electrics etc. All thanks to your brilliant, engaging and entertaining instruction. Well done and please keep going.
I love that mounting system to the cylinder heads. It’s far more simple than the one HD uses.
And loosens off after a while ,had to weld mine solid
thanks for coming back to talk about Triumph scrambler! 😃
I have the same bike, with the same exhaust. I have exclusively installed the Arrow tune, did you recommend any other modification to improve performance? with this Arrow tune, seems too greasy 🤔
Exhaust looks amazing - gives the bike real "attitude" - thanks guys! x
Thanks Mike. It sure does!
Nice looking exhaust. What a bark without baffle. The start of a new style for the Scrambler.
Cheers from Nürnberg/Germany, Günter
Thanks Günter, have a great weekend! 👍
Nice Exhaust System from TEC Bike Parts Del looks good on Penny's bike matched with a great install video 👍
Thanks 👍
That's stunningly beautiful! Big improvement and it's sure to turn heads wherever Penny goes. Great improvement Del. You both have a great weekend, looking forward to the next upgrade.
Thanks Shaun 👍, the same to you, have a great weekend, keep well and ride safe! D&Px
Looking great Del I bet Penny will love it :) wow 7 years ago you installed the previous exhaust I remember watching that one.. time flies
Yes, time flies aye Pete?!
Excellent video Del & Penny. Penny your new pipe looks very cool and if it sounds like your old one it will be super sweet. Job well done mate. Penny and you have a relaxing and sound weekend. Cheers P.s Thanks for starting to let us have some our sunshine back, LOL
bloody nice.Just on a different note, I want to paint the barrels and heads of my softail. Could you recommend a paint. I know you like simoniz, do they do one ? and if so which? many thanks.
Pen, you're gonna have one angry sounding Scrambler! And what fantastic welding on those pipes! Beau-tee-full !!
Oh yes, for sure Tommy, it looks beautiful in 'real life', thank you for your kind words.
Nice, got same but had to weld the slide in header mounts solid as they were a poor fit...its not british, its asian or indian made ,and a bit of a slack fit imo,but under half price of anything else... tec recomend u dont run without baffles as it fecks the silencer, so i just halfed the length on mine,,, but lovely, well made ( for the price) pipe, spoiled by the lines of it not following the bike right ( like an arrow one )
Looks absolutely gorgeous :)
Thank you Tony!
I remember when you put that on, and hearing her giggle with joy. It's the small things, right brother? The lamp looks awesome, btw! Thanks for giving it a place of honour. (I even spelled it right for you....LOLOLOL) As always, love to Penny and yourself, and hope all is well.
Thank you buddy, we're glad you saw it, meant to ping you and let you know! Have a wonderful weekend there, chat with you soon! D&Px
Now it's a scrambler! Ok tyres and suspension to follow,I know. Getting the height tall enough but comfortable and confidence inspiring can be a challenge for those of us with short legs.
✌️❤️🤗
Hey buddy, you're dead right, style is always a trade off of convenience and aesthetics, it'll be higher than it is now, but not factory level, a trimmed down seat upholstery will help to retain a secure foot hold with the floor at stops!
@@Moonfleet41 The price I pay for being a Brontosaurus! huge body and 4 stumps.🤪
That’s certainly is different!! Only thing I am deaf but I can feel the sound effects on my phone speaker. Never seen spring type holder … heatproof silicone??!! That’s unheard of… I probably could use that in few heat applications…. Pretty Kwel video!!
Looks sharp and sounds great!
Very nice, simple piece of kit👍. Can you comment on the cost?
Yeah,, I'm a nosey yank 😆👌.
Del, I don't know if your that good (witch you are )and make everything look easy or there a lot of editing ,,LOL,,I did my 2009 indian last year went from 2 into 1 to true duels what a pain to install took 7 hours and a few wrenches flew across the barn,, wish I would have known about the copper nut tho would not want to do it again ,,,
You can also put when he calls "copper slip" (anti-seize) on the nuts to achieve the same effect. I learned that one from him years ago.
Must admit don’t like high exhaust systems, but that is nice and good quality👌👌
Looks like it will be a fun modification. I’ve run aftermarket exhausts on all my bikes. Not for power but for the fact that the sound my bike makes is one of the funnest aspects of riding for me.
Totally agree, it's all in the voice and you get a little weight saving and power saving too! Have a great weekend buddy.
Penny's bike is SO clean!! Beautiful!
Thank you Becky, it's her pride and joy.
Great looking system, much better than the stock "organ" pipes.
Thanks Russ. Glad you like it!
That's a great visual upgrade! Bet Penny is over the moon. Great instructional video. Have a cracking weekend both of you and stay safe
Thanks, you too and enjoy the sunshine... if we get any!
@@Moonfleet41 there may be slight gaps in the torrential rain we can enjoy 😂
Aint worry about heat? Looks like Penny’s right leg wont be happy😕
I rode it with the factory exhaust that stuck out, high level, about 5" further to the right and it was liveable but a bit hot... notice how this tucks snug in to the engine real tight and will be well clear of my leg by comparision... any hot spots can always be wrapped! PP
TEC Bike Parts makes some great stuff! One of the first things I did with my Scrambler 1200XC was apply their tail tidy; a well-engineered part and easy to install (I knew I'd never revert back to the ridiculous extended license plate "tail" and opted to cut the part that came on my bike, rather than pay the extra for one pre-cut to be included in their kit).
Now that’s the shizzle. Shame you can’t run her up just yet but you know she’s gunna be a beast!
Thanks Dave, have a great weekend with the family, will catch up soon, D&Px
7years old and still looks mint.
Thank you, it's my pride and joy and very special to me!
My man I have a electrical related question if you run a LED headlight and you want to swap for something retro like a lightbulb do you need to add resistant to the wires?
You add a resistor when you swap to LED, because the LED draws MUCH less power than a standard light bulb, and the ECU may not like it, depending on the system. (CANBUS systems are able to adjust to the voltage requirement, and not throw an error.) If your bike is LED from the factory, it may not have enough power in the system for a standard light bulb, but if it does, you shouldn't have to add anything. But, I'd maybe ask at the dealer, or a specialist in your specific bike to make sure.
Johnny, I think the word you're looking for is a
" incandescent " bulb. I want to say, RESPECTFULLY, that I believe your thinking is backwards. The L.E.D. will have LESS of a current draw than the incandescent bulb, so adding a resistor would be counterproductive. The opposite would hold true, especially for turn signals or blinkers, going FROM incandescent to L.E.D. I hope this helps Sir.
T.S. RACING
@@t.s.racing thanks man thats really helpful!
@@dazdncnfusd6447 thanks man I think I got the idea now! appreciated
@@t.s.racing So I have a question, if I got a voltage meter and test out the LED factory light’s resistance, and find a lightbulb that can Match the same resistance then I will be OK right? Or test out the current that the LED are pulling, and match the current for the new module, but is there something that I can add to the current in the system? Like a voltage or A booster
Hi Del, quick question if I may on the simoniz tough spray you use, the tin either has a yellow label or green label, is there any difference
Don't know Andy, never really questioned it, they both perform exactly the same mate !
@@Moonfleet41 OK thank you, sorry to have bothered you, I have had it before, but never really understood what the difference in the labels where,
Please note. The term 'copper plated nuts' in NO way refers to any UK traffic police . . . this joke is now exhausted : )xx
😂😂
What a nice hugging system, really looks the part. And if it sounds like the system at the end of the video. Happy days!
Great job my friend!!...the little details is the best in your videos...regreats from the north of spain!!!!
Man I love this channel. Best instruction out there. My way of learning. Thank you so much.
I appreciate that!
Looks so much better loving the look. I would always be worried about burning leg though. Im only a short ass
I'm gonna try it Mark and see how I get on, I have ridden with the original high level exhaust and it wasn't too bad, but I can always get Del to wrap it if needed!
@@Moonfleet41 does look lovely pp you really have looked after it x
I'm 6ft and yes, it will burn your leg.
I always prefer to be quieter, discreet, I've always thought it's dumb to warn the guy with the speed camera that you're coming! And I've a police friend who dodged a ticket 'cos the speed trap turned off his camera to save battery, then Fred fires past in his lexus hybrid. The lexus was known so he received a phone call later on
Banger thumbnail ! Also fantastic video !
Thank you. Glad you liked it!!
All things in life should be as easy as fitting that entire system.
Perfectly made to fit without any BS cut n tuck.
I can’t believe that was seven years ago,I remember penny’s reaction like it was yesterday…
Time flies aye!
Sounds epic Del. Love Penny's laugh hen you pulled the DB killer out. Priceless! The new set up looks great though.
well there you go answered my question before i asked it i did think it was the same exhaust as you had taken off but 7 years ago wow didnt think it was all that m8 anyhow have a great weekend keep well and roll on the next episode atb iain
How time flies aye Iain, thanks for your kind support, have a great weekend!
It looks great but I don't think it will be very comfortable in the summer
You are correct sir. I live in a desert climate in central California. High exhaust bikes are brutal in the summer months, especially sitting at a red light. My Scrambler really put out some heat albeit great in the winter.
Looks phenomenal, Del. I’m sure Penny will enjoy the new mods. Really like the drawn lines on the pipes idea… I may use that on the silencer I’m installing on the MIL’s rear quarters since she’s subject to squirming a bit during such things. Good seeing both of you on Dr. D.’s channel this week! Take care! 🏍👍🏍
Thanks Gary, have a great weekend yourself there! D&Px
@@Moonfleet41 😎
Where did you get it from, I can't find it anywhere.

Now that is seriously nice!
Looks great.
Love the sound but that exhaust looks absolutely fantastic👍
It was nice to hear Penny Laugh..
She's still here working away and always in the background!
Lovely! 😍
That's going to sound the "Dog's Danglies ' Del. Lovely job mate. 😎👍🏍
Vroom, vroom.
Whaow! Un look d'enfer cet échappement!!!
Nice.
What happened to your dry erase board comments ? They’re always thought provoking 👍🏻🇺🇸👍🏻
Great video as usual Sir, but if its Penny's pride, could penny do some work on it, be great to see penny in the shots from time to time
Thanks Andy, she is always in the shop with me, working her magic with filming and post production, she has enough to do, I do the spanners!
@@Moonfleet41 always a pleasure to see your good lady on the other side of the camera from time to time. Great video Del
Lovely job Del
