    Triumph certainly is proud of their branded accessories (here in the US they get $270 for their factory plug-n-play heated grips kit). Also, it's nice to see I'm not the only guy that will occasionally sacrifice a no-name tool (like an Allen wrench) to make one more useful to me.

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  Год назад +2

      Sure thing Paul, tools are for use and if they need to be adapted, then so be it!... and you're right, branded accessories are big business!

    Hiya Penny and Del, great video. Tough Paint Satin Black ought to be a sponsor. When you find something that works, stick with it! The parts look great in black on the bike... very nice work. Take care, dear friends. Be well, ride safe.

    How's the paint holding up? I'm currently thinking of painting a lot of parts on my bike. I'd also like to do the mud guards and the crash bars (sorry, "dresser" bars) and I'm wondering if I should get them powder coated. Those things will get scratched. I think a power coating might be more durable, but regular paint is easier to fix?
    Would you do it the same way again?

    OK, Del, I like the blacked out look myself as it's easier to keep clean than brightwork is. If you want to give the engine fasteners that blacked out look, I can recommend Carbolts UK in West Yorkshire, they have a massive range of black stainless steel fasteners in metric sizes.

    Awesome video, would love to do this to my XC. Could you tell me after the washing process do you wipe them with thinners before applying tack coat. And also I'm guessing no lacquer or clear coat needed after the tough paint?

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  8 месяцев назад

      Thinners is ok carefully, too much and you can melt the old surface.. you could use a panel wipe wax and grease remover.. it's just to thoroughly degrease it first... and No, you don't need anything over the top of Tough paint. !
