    Thank you for all the time you spend making outstanding videos… may I ask you, the new transmission rubber has 2 treaded “rod” one is longer than the other, which one is on the top ? Thank you again for your time

      I believe I installed the shorter one towards the bottom assembly that is installed to the underbody frame brace, and longer to the smaller transmission bracket (top).

    Nice video. Definitely an upgrade I’ll be doing soon

    sooooooo glad my 2018 is soooooo much easier than yours, i installed the flat 6 kit and it took me all of 15 min, noticed an immediate difference, it is a worth while upgrade/mod..... 🤠

      Hmmm… I think that there is no difference between 2015 and 2018 honestly, in this specific PDK support area…. Yes, is not a difficult job. If I were to install only the insert, it would have taken me 15 minutes like you, but I also installed the 034 rubber support which required me to remove more parts.

      @@porscheDIY u are correct. i did not see a need for anything other than the 2 piece inserts, this is where the excess shift movement/play needs to be controlled/dampened the most and after doing so it is a huge difference, thanks again for taking the time to make your videos, our wife's are sooo lucky we are making their cars sooooo much better for them..... 🤣

    These types of upgrades are great even if they add a little NVH, my 2000 C5 is fully converted with mounts from AMT Motorsport. I must say though, never use a hydraulic jack to support a piece of work let alone work under it. This is a job for a screw type jack stand. You'll get more precise adjustment of support and zero chance $0.05 hydraulic seal ruining your day.

      Good point….on the support….🙄…😊…. Thanks for your comment… keep-’em coming!!
      On the NVH, this specific mod doesn’t add any significant NVH on the Macan, in my case I didn’t notice any and this was also confirmed by several folks who did the same mod. But it made the whole drivetrain feel more solid, when accelerating and shifting. It is a good mod.

    Did you notice a big difference with the whole setup? I have the polyurethane inserts and it’s a big difference but I think I’d rather do the whole kit. What are your thoughts?

      So, here is where I stand today…. I replaced the 034 transmission insert with the ECS Tuning transmission insert and I find it much better. ECS Tubing insert is a combination of polyurethane and billet aluminum, which mounts the same way as 034 which is all aluminum.
      On the differential bushing inserts, I ended up removing them. When I replaced the subframe, which had newer bushings, it developed unwanted humming noise at 80mph… spent significant time trying to figure out where the noise was coming from until I removed the inserts… so, although the dynamics were nice, the noise was unbearable… currently I don’t have any inserts in the transmission bushings. I may try ECS Tuning inserts later to see how they perform and to see if they make noise.
      I still have the 034 subframe bushings inserts… those are working very nicely.

    Thanks for sharing this. Will it help with the 'wobble' I feel when upshifting in my Macan Turbo? It's quite disconcerting, feels like the car does not like an aggressive upshift when in sport+.

      This should help. BTW, I recently removed this one and installed the ECS Tuning insert. It is similar, but the ECS Tuning has a rubber insert with an aluminum base. It is less aggressive than the 034. But either should work. Good luck!

      @@porscheDIY Thanks, was there bad NVH? What made you change it.

    • @porscheDIY

      @@thedoble I was experiencing some bad vibration, which I thought was the engine mounts, but wanted to eliminate variables. So I replaced this first. It turns out that I have also replaced the front sway bar with an Audi aftermarket bar that folks in the forum were saying were good, and it was contacting the bottom of my engine. Turns out it works with 4-cyl engines but not with 6-cyl engines. I replaced the sway bar for OEM and that solved the issue. Decided to keep the ECS Tuning and I do like it better. But there is no significant increase in NVH with the 034. There was significant increase in NVH (specifically) noise with the differential inserts. Not an issue with my old subframe, but when I changed subframe with newer bushings, there was a flute-like noise at 75 to 80mph. I removed those as well.

    Hey there,
    Reasoning for changing the tranny mount? Vibration? Percussion?
    Greta videos I’m hooked as you can see.😊

    • @porscheDIY
      @porscheDIY  Год назад +1

      Neither. It just stiffens the transmission mount a bit. This mod, combined with the rear differential mount mod, connects the whole drivetrain better. It is a unique feeling difficult to describe. But you feel more direct and quicker transfer of power. It does this with minimal Noise, Vibration or Harshness (NVH). This mod is from 034. There is also an alternative from ECS. In my view, one of the best mods I did in my Macan. Thanks for your support to the channel!

    Great video. Thank you!
    Have you looked at the one from flat6 Motorsports?

    • @porscheDIY
      @porscheDIY  2 года назад +1

      Yes I did. I selected 034 because it was tried by a friend and reported significant improvement in the overall transmission support and power transfer. In combination with the rear differential inserts, it completes the support structure of the drive train, with no noticeable noise, vibration or harshness (NVH). The 034 transmission support solution provides an improved rubber, as well as the aluminum insert fills the gap in the transmission support. 034 offers a more complete solution in my opinion.
