    Just is case this comes true: The reason why Miquella is a husk is because his soul is not present in his body, his soul is back in time. He is able to travel back in time via some ritual involving his location beneath Caelid at Mohgwyn that requires the use of a lot of blood. This is the cycle! Everytime Miquella gets splashed with that blood his soul is sent back in time and he attempts to do something that will change the outcome of the world. When that doesnt work, well it will just happen again, and again, and again. The world is literally stuck in a cycle until Miquella figures it out right. Maybe the theory about Miquella's soul is in our body is true?
    So why Deathroot? Prevent his spirit getting sucked into the Erdtree-net while he does his Time Travel nonsense.

      I’m tentatively acclimating to the idea of any of the characters possibly time traveling. For some reason I’m instinctually averse to such storylines. But, it’s clear and quite blatant, really, that time is both at play (obviously) and perhaps being manipulated by more than one character. The fact that we can only effectively use Miquella’s needle in farum azula, in the place we are told is outside of time, amidst Placidusax, also seems like a big hint. Considering Miquella would need to have designed it that way or known TO design in that way in the first place. Something about being outside of time and the use of his needle which appears to be made of SILVER or PLATINUM “removes the influence of ‘outer gods’.” It’s all utterly compelling when you put it in a theory the way you have.
      So whilst I am mind boggled and riveted, I’m also still so completely confused. So I would like for you, with your BIG CAT somewhere in your vicinity, to answer some questions, if you think you might know-
      1.) With Miquella repeatedly traveling through time in an effort to yield a particular result, does this open up the idea that time itself in the lands between is unreliable? That this “cycle” could be an infinite loop and has literally been going on forever and will continue to until we stop the person spinning the wheel of time?
      2.) Dragons have skin of stone. Something about Marika and Radagon being made of stone and the small child with the three wolves statue in farum azula makes me wonder, is there a link there on purpose? Are Dragon kind and Numen in some way related? Dragons would said to be immortal. The numen live long lives. Is there a link there, do you think?
      It’s also possible that Marika and Radagon are made of stone simply because they’ve been outside of Miquella’s eternal cyclical efforts for eons and have become fossilised.
      What do you think?
      3.) Do you think there is some significance to the Miquella Sigil when casting golden epitaph’s ability, the bewitching branch ability and Miquella’s needle all have a different colour symbol with each initiation of the spell? It’s the only sigil to appear in multiple colours before casting a spell.
      4.) To what end do you believe Miquella desires godhood? Truly to save his sister? Or do you believe Miquella to be of a more nefarious disposition? If so or not, why?
      5.) Lastly: If Marika and Radagon are one being, how and why can we both wield Radagon’s body as a sword AND place Marika’s head back on her shoulders if her body/Radagon’s body is a sword now and not a crumbling stone statue? This is so confusing to me. Especially because the sword literally describes itself as having been made from the body of a god who SHOULD HAVE LIVED A LIFE ETERNAL. My brain splode 😫

    • @JackisaMimic
      @JackisaMimic  8 месяцев назад +2

      Ill hit these up in the next QA so others can hear this but hears the rough draft lol:
      1.)I would not be shocked if the big reveal is that every play through is canon and the goal is to get one iteration of the Tarnished of no renown to do the "right" thing, whatever that may be. Essentially the Time Traveling Bran theory. GRRM likes timetravel, Miyazaki likes time travel. Also another person pointed out that Morgotts body gets de-omened AFTER we gain his remembrance, and Miquella has the same model. GRRM's time traveling consciousness that he uses could be at play here. Someone better send me a check or something if it turns out the player character is a mimic tear with Miquella's soul in it lmao
      2.) Marika and Radagon are not made of stone. Although they look like stone, and while Radagon is immune to bleed, he is not immune to Scarlet Rot and is weak to fire. Rocks cannot bleed but they also cant rot. Trees cannot bleed, but they can rot, and obviously they dont like fire. Trees are also long lived and seldom born, like the Numen. I am leaning towards Numen being akin to Dryads. The Elden Ring can be housed in the Erdtree and Empryeans (and besides the GEQ we know that all Empryeans are Numens), so I think its a safe assumption that Marika and Radgon are akin to petrified trees, their body color is nearly identical to the petrified trees in the snowfield and underground.
      3.) I didn't know they had different colors, I assumed the inclusion of the Haligtree Symbol was to confirm the young boy quoted in the sword is in fact Miquella. Otherwise we would just assume who the young boy is.
      4.) I don't think he is nefarious, at least not more or less nefarious as anyone else. Everyone of these characters are killers, and what is worst than that?
      Malenia's rotting sickness is eternal, she has been rotting for a very long time. Check out Gowry's dialouge: " The rotting sickness
      that afflicts Millicent has no cure.
      When the Erdtree flourished,
      even the demigods
      could not stave off its effects,
      despite their nigh godhood."
      When the Erdtree flourished implies at the beginning of the Erdtree's life cycle, and if you believe that the Twin Empryeans are some of the most ancient beings like I do, then it could be a case of Miquella attempting to cure his sister through multiple ages. GRRM is an ex-Catholic and an Atheist. Miqeulla's goals could be warding away of ALL Gods: Frenzy, Rot, Greater Will, Dark Moon, ect... to cure his sister, and possibly the world. We know Miquella is smart and a schemer, but I hope he is a good person.
      5.) Same way that you kill the Elden Beast yet the Elden Ring (which is the Elden Beast) gets reforged. For Hewg to make a weapon to kill a god you need ancient dragon smithing stones which are: "This stone lightly twists time, allowing the creation of a weapon capable of slaying a god."
      So you are "killing" the Elden Beast by essentially hitting it with a time travel stick and sending it back to before it was the Elden Beast, I guess. I think the same thing happens to Radagon and Marika. Theyre dead and turned into a sword then BONK a little time travel, now they arent anymore.
      Bonus theory: The Sacred Relic Sword we can use in game is not actually the real Sacred Relic Sword, obviously. None of the remembrance weapons we use are the "real" versions of those weapons, they essentially mimic the original weapon. Funny thing is that all of those weapons can only be upgraded by somber, colorless, smithing stones. Colorless and silver aren't too far off when you look at them side by side I would say ;)
      There may be a mimic in all of us afterall

    Ever since the topic of a dlc was being thrown around the community, my thought on the content of the dlc has not changed.
    I believe we will have to access Miquella's body with a key item that will allow us to enter into a dream-scape similarly to how we entered the Deathbed dream and the Ancestor Spirit arenas. But in Miquella's case, we will enter a legacy dungeon within his mind that is corrupt by the Formless Mother, and the goal of this first DLC segment will be to free him from the clutches of the FM, and the first major boss will be Miquella's mind being possessed by an Avatar of the Formless Mother (an inferior version of the Elden Beast lore-wise, so to speak). We will meet Miquella within his mind at this stage. This ends the introduction.
    Act 2 of the DLC would involve initiating the Eclipse through main-game progression. Radahn must be dead, and we must return a key item (Miquella's ring, probably) to the Haligtree, so that his plan can begin. We'll probably get a cutscene of the sun being eclipsed, and the spirit world forming within the literal shadow of the Erdtree--in between all of the Divine Towers, and being accessible from any of them via a new pathway.
    Now we get into the meat and potatoes of the DLC with a new region (probably the size of the entirety of Limgrave), and this is where anything can happen. I'm sure we will meet Godwyn's spirit, interact with the Gloam-Eyed Queen (or her god in some way... Melina could be the vessel we speak to whether or not she dies in the main game), and we might actually get to speak to Marika at some point towards the end.
    I suspect we will be given the option to either assist Miquella in his mission, or help whatever other major force is present, whether it be the Gloam-Eyed Queen's God, or Godwyn, or something else.

    I think the cocoon will be an optional entry into the DLC. Fromsoft doesn’t usually put access points to DLC off the beaten path. They are usually around a main area where the 1st difficulty spike occurs.
    My guess you will mainly access the DLC in Leyndell Capitol, probably in Mericka’s throne room or some such and the other access point being the cocoon

    • @JackisaMimic
      @JackisaMimic  9 месяцев назад +11

      What makes me almost firmly believe it will be Miquella's Cocoon is for two reasons: the first is that I think this will be firmly end game content, so it needs to be gated appropriately.
      Second is that you can make Mohg your third boss fight rather quickly. Following Varre's questline, you only need to obtain one great rune, do three invasions or kill a specific NPC in Altus, and get maidens blood from one of three sources found in the open world. Your reward is an item that teleports you straight to Mohgwyn palace. You could make a new character and do Margit -> Godrick -> Mohg if you so desired.

    • @a5hen
      @a5hen 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@JackisaMimic I don't agree to be honest. The Cocoon is a popular theory as the entry point but to go through it the usual way will take a lot of time. As for your reasoning, even if you get access to Mohgwyn Palace through Varre's questline, you would be severely underlevelled to fight him and potentially attempt the DLC. I think the hidden statue of Malenia and Miquella in Altus Plateau is a better entrace.

    • @thomashooper2451
      @thomashooper2451 8 месяцев назад

      There's a rumor floating around that debuggers and dataminers found a location in the game's files on Altus Plateau labeled "St. Trina's Hideaway." Assuming this is true, then it would be the most logical place for the DLC entry. Gating the DLC behind an optional late-game boss isn't From Software's typical style. Then again, an open world Souls-like isn't in From Soft's style either. Maybe this is all BS some people cooked up, and From Soft really will break from tradition by putting the DLC behind Mohg.
      Still, I would like to believe it's true.

    Something else I wonder if the DLC will somehow elude go in relation to Miquella is how they chose his referential colours. Gold and purple. Specifically pure, unalloyed gold.
    When gold is processed in isopropyl alcohol with a powerful laser, the result is a process known as plasmon resonance. It produces, curiously, a purple light and a purple cloud of golden nano particles. Rendering the gold and alcohol into a colloidal gold which is used in things like pregnancy tests and covid tests as the nano particles bind themselves to specific substances in the tests yielding a purple, sometimes red, band.
    I wonder if this whole process was part of what influenced the colour purple to be associated with St. Trina.

    I sort of think that the DLC will do exactly that, but it can only do that if the DLC either allows a new ending really. Fingers crossed that’s the case - but I’m also completely open to the idea that the cycle can never be broken, but now that death is back in the world it’s not an issue and life can prosper once more (ending dependant, of course).
    But just purely based on the implication that the Great Tree was burned / felled occasionally, I think it’s just how this world works. The thing that provides life and abundance must sometimes be cut back to ensure future strong growth.
    Can’t remember who it was (probably Quelaag) who said it, but the Crucible Knight armour shows a top down representation of a cut tree. Given the whole plant influence on the mythology, I’d be okay with the cycle continuing in some new form

      Godfrey’s weapon of choice is also an axe, the man made enemy of all trees. When the Elden Ring was shattered, seeds were scattered through the Lands Between and Minor Erdtrees started to grow.
      Are we sure this isn’t the first time this has happened? Marika shattered the Elden Ring, while Radagon repaired it. To most that looks like they are in opposition but if we look at their actions together I see them reforging the Elden Ring, scattering seeds, creating more Erdtrees.
      When will another strong man come along to fell a tree, to repair the Elden Ring, to kill demigod children, to become Elden Lord.

The player should not have to become a computer hacker to figure out a game's story, that's asinine. After the massive let down that was AC6, if they pull another non-story stunt like that again then I'm done with fromsoft.

      I love that he quoted the description of the memory of grace that guides the tarnished back to the lands between. As Marika promised in her echoes communicated back to us via Melina in a conversation at a grace on our own adventure through the lands between.
      I also find it fascinating that Ser Gideon Ofnir, the “All Knowing” would say of Marika that the reason he knows it in his heart and in his mind that we cannot as tarnished kill a god, and stands before us to block our path, is because I’m his own words, Marika wanted us to struggle eternally. To “return to the lands between, wage war, brandish the Elden ring, grow strong in the face of death.”
      But what he failed to realise are Marika’s words just before that. The cycle has already begun. “My Lord and thy warriors, I divest each of thee of thy grace. And with thine eyes dimmed, ye will be driven from the lands between. Ye will wage war in a land afar, where ye will live, and die. Then, after thy death, I will give back what I once claimed.-“
      At the end of the game we place her head back on her neck and the vessel glows within. The light of the Elden ring burning with the embers of golden grace once more.
      The more war we wage, the more we brandish our great runes, the stronger we will become and the greater Fantasia will be. This is the neverending story!!

    • @JackisaMimic
      @JackisaMimic  9 месяцев назад +4

      There are few major themes but there are two that speak to me personally.
      One of them is the cycle of violence, how violence begets violence and hate begets hate. No matter if that violence is born of a fiery passion or a cold icy hate we all suffer from the act of hurting one another. How advanced can civilization be when we choose to hurt our fellow man?
      The other is identity. What is it to be original? What is it to be yourself? Does a copy have any less value because it’s a copy? Is a life worth less because it’s a being of silver made by human hands, or is a piece of art lose its impact because it’s a story that’s already been told? It doesn’t matter if the character you play in game is a mimic of your favorite manga character, or wears the clothes of the first Elden Lord, or is a character you’ve made up, or is a character that represents you. It doesn’t matter because you’re the one playing, you beat the bosses, you fought the monsters. No matter what you look like when you gaze into the mirror at the Roundtable Hold or in your bathroom at home, the person looking back will always be you. No matter what, it will always be you.
      Lost Ash of War: “Thus does the copy pass into becoming the genuine article.”

    One thing I kinda hope is that if the DLC has time travel or time displacement, we would get to experience at least one large scale battle. I would love to get to be smack-dab in the middle of a massive siege with armies battling one another trying to complete our objective as a lone third faction representative with no friends or mercy to be found. Or to be put in the rows of an army marching against another, getting to experience what it was like when armies clashed in the Lands Between with siege engines, arrows, sorceries, incantations a flying and arms clashing in front row combat as great champions give each other battle.
    I would love to get just a taste of what this old still very much living world we got told of over and over again was like, and why its time went and died out of pure necessity. Throw in some heavy hitting demigods at their full power as bosses, and it sounds like fun times ahead...cause if the already broken feeling time of the Lands between becomes fluid and can be meddled with, I would adore a fight with Rennalla, Radahn or Malenia back in their heyday when they were at their pinnacle and prime. Full power unleashed, rather than decayed and eaten away by a cycle that went on for far too long.

      @@videocrowsnest5251 I was wondering this a while ago. That trailer to Elden Ring made me think we would have a perpetual battlefield outside of Lendyll which could have worked as a scramble for an audience with Marika or exactly as you described. The continent is too massive for how calm it is and if the dlc can answer this I'd be more than satisfied. It can even work like an opposite to Caelid but more dangerous. Repetitious playthroughs display how empty the game is.

    • @videocrowsnest5251
      @videocrowsnest5251 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@Do0mSl4yer95 Yea, I noticed this too. The first time around, you are too busy trying to figure out where to go and not getting bonked by ambushes or random patrols. But after you actually know how to handle yourself and get the lay of the land, the world feels suddenly geographically very tiny and empty. The desolate feel is appropriate, but makes for a strange feeling when combined with how large yet small the place really is.
      Try riding Torrent from Limgrave to the capital following the road network best you can, and you really get a sense for how much presentation masks how small the landspace actually is. Or from Raya Lucaria (de-facto the capital of the only other nation Queen Marika does not on paper lead if we ignore the Nox underground cities) to the Erdtree capital. It is a literal stone toss if we discount needing a trip up the big elevator.
      Which is why if time displacement (nothing here time feels broken as it is in the Lands Between) is a thing, in the DLC it would be great to get some experiences in a time when the whole landmass wasn't a decaying husk.

      Compared to larger open worlds like BoTW and the Witcher 3, I like the fact that I can distinguish individual roads/areas in Elden Rings regions after a couple playthroughs. It makes each region feel more memorable than regions from other open world games like those I’ve mentioned. Off the top of my brain, I can pinpoint 85% of The Lands Between after my 6 playthroughs. Each area has identity and I feel that really makes me enjoy it from a comfort standpoint, almost as if it’s my home lol😭. The smaller nature of ER’s world feels a lot more Fromsofty if that makes sense - a world that’s small, but more compact with detail and content, as well as memorable locales
      As for a battle simulator: I think it’d be freaking awesome, but fromsoft haven’t done anything like that before, and certainly wouldn’t risk that on a DLC - which is usually made up of Miyazaki’s fav parts of the main game.
      I certainly expect another Radahn-like battle with multiple NPCs, considering Radahn was Miyazaki’s fav Elden Ring boss - likely for the unique reason that it is one of the rare boss fights in the series that feels like a battle

    We will travel back in time. But I think that's reserved for the final DLC, maybe in 2025 or 2026. We will help Marika the Empyrean rise to godhood.
    Yes, this game is about cycles, including Miquella's ending/era which also will be a cycle and will eventually end.
    Miquella's ending, in terms of validity, will be at the same level of other endings and yes it will have it's on set of problems, namely Miquella's personality. His era, one of "abundance" may bring balance along all abstract aspects which define the LB, but he will rule without checks and balances, he will not have a patron abstract deity above him to keep in check.
    Remember that in this game all factions have their legitimate points, including the GW. They are there to keep Marika and other empyrean in check. Without them, we WILL have Goldmask's warning of mass chaos and destruction through fickle, unchecked gods.

      Essentially, our situation will be summed up to the following: If this upcoming DLC approaches all lore topics, including those of the GEQ and Marika's past/Farum Azula statue, then the game is complete. If not, and the DLC only deals with present topics, such as deathroot, Godwyn, Miquella, the NOTBK and Mohg/Formeless Mother, then expect another large DLC in 2025/2026, with a primary large questline, maybe larger than Ranni's, which will be Marika's questline in the past.

So this picture being the origin of the Erdtree as we know it and us beeing brought to the past makes a lot sense. I feel like the DLC has been in production for so long that it is going to be massive in scale. They already had a lot of the work done because they already made the game, add a little more than two years development time to a pipeline that was already in place and we could potentially get something of massive scale.

      When I said it’s going to be Elden Ring again, I literally mean that. When it comes to gameplay and content, I do think the DLC will be the scale of a full fledged sequel.

      @@JackisaMimic Yeah that's exactly how I see it, there has been enough time to take cut content + a whole extra two year cycle with all the tools, lore and capital backing already locked in. Personally for the DLC, I'd like to fight Miquella's or Malenia's shadows at some point because we already got Maliketh and Blaidd. I'd also like to know who the girl with the three wolves summon was and about Melina but I don't think I'm going to get all the answers.

    I also hope Miquella has greater plans as well. Because at the end of the day the Elden ring is still something we can't fully conceptualize nor do we fully understand the greater will and it's role for it's people.

    • @JackisaMimic
      @JackisaMimic  9 месяцев назад +2

      I actually disagree and think we can fully understand the Greater Will. To quote Oscar Wilde, "Without order nothing can exist-without chaos nothing can evolve. Nowadays people know the price of everything and the value of nothing.”
      The goal of the Greater Will is to have Order within everything: no change, no choice, forever stagnate, forever orderly.
      At least, that's how I see it.
      Thanks for the comment!

    I noticed in the lore of Elden Ring most of the bosses are war torn and past their days of glory. Imagine you fight a prime Melania or prime Radagon etc. holy crap that would be epic.

    Did Miyazaki not allude to the fact that he is attempting to show IRL issues with this story?
    It actually ties in so well, the fundamentalism, generational wealth, eventually overthrown by another, who repeats the same process. It is a beautiful example of feudalism, and how it never breaks itself out of the cycle. It is, within itself, a self-fulfilling prophecy.
    Good eye. Solid theory.

      Thank you, glad you enjoyed the theory! All stories are ways to explore the human condition. Whether it takes place in a castle, a coffeeshop, or space ship, it's all about us.

      @@JackisaMimic truer words, eh? We have been describing our future through various mediums of media/storytelling from the very beginning of humanity. It’s humorous how despite how easy it is to make the connections across history, how ignorant we can be en masse. Sadly, having non-standardized education and alienating those with creative problem solving creates across the globe has lead to the majority of humans to completely forget how capable an individual’s mind can be, and what can be achieved in collaboration with those who share similar ideas and aspirations.
      I have hope for the future, as I know many do. :)
