This is who was intended to be the Miquellan Knight. All signs line up. This being St. Trina doesn't make sense. It would be more plausible if this were a child of Miquella in the same sense that Millicent is a child of Malenia.
@@camerondevoe4700 The sword was made for one who would be Knighted, but it was never offered. This character was likely intended to become the first Miquellan Knight, but was unable to for some reason--whether that be Miquella's disappearance before it could happen, this character being too young, or any other reason.
They do not have the sword, but they clearly have the armor set that is made with the Carian Knight design in mind. The sword they are currently wielding does not match their attire.
So until further notice, I am calling them the Miquellan Knight due to the lack of any other name for them.
Who slept with the eternally nascent Miquella and where is Chris Hansen when you need him?

Someone on reddit pointed out that there are 7 of Miquella's Followers and 7 Walking Mausoleums/Soulless Demigods...
Oooh, maybe my theory about these followers being dream versions of "characters" in the base game is true.
Miquella was trying to bring Godwyn back to life, maybe these followers want the same, and they're subconsciously reaching out to the only entity that could fulfill this, while manifesting a more mortal, less demigod form.
Seven, including the Miquellan Knight, and Miquella would not be one of Marika's "unwanted children." Marigon seems to prefer him over the rest.

It's possible. Miquella became bodiless like Ranni and Melina, according to the first trailer. If it's a prerequisite to traveling to the Land of Shadows for Demigods then that means this is their spiritual bodies and their souls like Melina (Ranni inhabits a doll body to remain physically available in the Lands Between instead of wherever spirits usually stay, maybe the land of shadow). Interesting speculation.
I think we all about lost it. At this point more characters are speculated to Miquella than not xD

You know, that sword really reminds me of the Sacred Relic Sword. Obviously, it doesn’t share the organic texture or twisting spine, but the shape of the hilt looks to me like it shares the same model.
Edit: The crossguard also evokes the shape seen at the top of the Faram Azula Elden Ring.
Also looks like the Sacred Relic Sword. Forged by a God, but that would mean Miquella already achieved their goals, and that they made that sword out of a person

People really be trying to compare Miquella to Griffith when Marika (who built her empire on literally TWO mountains of corpses, according to the story trailer, and who had the world fooled into thinking of her as a holy figure while manipulating everyone around her) is RIGHT there.
There's evidence that Miquella is a bit shady, but I don't think someone who sacrificed their flesh, their strength, and their fate (which, as far as we know, is very likely his future as an Empyrean, which would be an easy path to power) is someone who's trying to manipulate everyone around them to a sinister goal.

Same!! Me personally, I actually feel as though Marika is the parallel to Griffith in Elden Ring in terms of character and actions. Seduction and betrayal mark her ascension to godhood, as well as Griffith, for their dream of a kingdom. Although in Marika’s case we don’t know who was seduced or betrayed, but we can presume that the Land of Shadow as a whole, and their Divine figures, would fit the bill. Griffiths relationship to Guts before the eclipse is much like Marikas relationship to her shadow Maliketh, who wears armor mimicking Guts’ berserk armor, and was also betrayed in the end. In the Shadow of the Erdtree story trailer it is implied that the mountain of corpses she walks over and is surrounded by, was necessary for her ascent. Similar to the vision Griffith had while talking to the godhand. So I believe these parallels lie more so in Marikas origin, and the origin of the golden order, which we don’t know a great deal about so this is mostly speculation on my part, but my money is on Marika being the true story parallel for Griffith. also the split of realms, the creation of the Land of Shadow/the Lands Between, may have a juxtaposing parallel with Griffiths release of the world tree, bringing the realms together. the base of the corpse tree in the shadow realm is also reminiscent of the base of world tree, with the split in the middle leading to the Lands Between
Ppl need to stop comparing Miquella to Griffith. Marika has more in common with Griffith than Miquella. Miquella is like ER's redeemer trope character.
Could be totally wrong on this but I agree. Definitely loosely inspired by Christ too as a savior for all, not just those of the Golden Order. At least what we hear of him in idealistic tales in the game.

I also started having a suspension that he's actually using the cacooned albinaurics to feed the tree like how marika could be feeding all these skinned bodies to birth her tree before him.😂
There's a reason ppl compare Miquella to Griffith. There's a sinister vibe underneath such a good natured character. His followers were tricked into being suicide bombers, the bewitching branch literally controls ppl against their will and Malenia has a massive BODY COUNT and she herself introduces herself as the "blade of Miquella". Her bodies are his bodies
I'm honestly just wishing Miquella would be someone who has good intentions for the people/creatures in the Lands Between. Just for a change of pace you know since everyone we meet only care about themselves or are apparently very evil very bad. Can see why he has a very loyal set of followers.

I think this character could be St. Trina and/or someone with links to the Rune of Death.
I saw a vid yesterday by Game Plus the Alchemist, who made parallels between Marika in the new trailer to Griffith, rather than Miquella being the Griffith analogue. It's interesting from a subversion of expectation perspective.
That doesn't necessarily mean Miquella is trustworthy, there's a ton of vampire fiction exploring all the ways eternal childhood is bad for mental health for inspiration of how his good intentions could go awry, after all.
Miyazaki has such a boner for berserk IT wouldnt be beneath hím to base 2 characters off of Griffith. I say hes trying to do the same thing his mother did, and both us and the other guys are just strung along tó be sacrificed but Miquella needs us and everyone Strong AF thats my 2 cents on the matter anyway
@@desgyulabalogh3429 that wouldn’t be compelling storytelling, nor does it even make sense given the context of the lore we have currently.
(1) Let’s talk about why it’s not compelling: having George Martin and Miyazaki, two character and fantasy giants, write two COMPLETELY different characters having the same goal would just be lazy writing. If you’ve ever read ASOIAF, or ever played a Miyazaki game, it’s very apparent that the heritage/successors in a family of corrupt line will always try to offer change in their family legacy. This seamlessly carries into my second point:
(2) Let’s talk about why your argument doesn’t even make sense in the context of the lore: Everything Miquella built was built to oppose Marika’s order. He literally is the “what if Marika was good”. For goodness sakes, he completely abandoned Golden Order Fundamentalism because it did nothing to ward off the fate of interfering Outer Gods. He created his own Tree, as a symbol of refuge and abundance, directly opposed to Marika’s Erdtree because Miquella believed it was discriminatory and unfair. Miquella watered his tree with HIS OWN BLOOD. He did NOT commit the mass sacrifice that Marika did. Miquella is following in the footsteps of Marika, sure. But not to do what she did, but to do what she should’ve done. THAT is the essence of Miquella’s character. He’s not marika, he’s Miquella. Following the theme of Duality in Elden Ring, the two most prominent and core characters of the story (Miquella and Marika) both are different/contradicting aspects of what the other doesn’t represent. They’re directly opposed, while still following a similar path. You could say: they’re two sides of the same coin, where one side is pure and radiant, and the other is etched in blood and sacrifice.

I think we should all accept that 'Miquella' was merely the friends we made along the way.
On a serious note, this character looks to me like the first tarnished touching the ground, feeling Miquella's scent and Great Rune.
That's the scene where the Tarnished are strengthening their resolve to follow Miquella and the narrator is asking if we - as another Tarnished - will walk with them on this path.
Look at the design of the helm and white cloak he wears in that picture with the trailer. These two people are an exact match. And I don't think he is 'Miquella' in disguise haha But it is a nice schizo theory
Yes, those are the exact same character. Not only are we following Miquella's footsteps, we are being urged and led by a mysterious character that shares a lot of visual similarities to our kindly radiant Empryean, Miquella.

An interesting find is that the voice of the DLC trailer narrator/the knight sounds similar to the narrator of the "ELDEN RING - Overview Trailer." I saw someone claim that Naomi McDonald voiced that trailer, but I haven't found proof, nor any credited voice actor. I also saw reasoning that other trailers had character voices narrating them: Ranni in "ELDEN RING - Story Trailer" and Melina in "ELDEN RING - Official Gameplay Reveal." Lastly, it's probably a coincidence, but a clip of the Overview Trailer was posted on the official Elden Ring Twitter account with the tweet reading, "You are the hope of the Golden Order, Tarnished. Your choices will shape the future of all who dwell in the shadow of the Erdtree."
5:25 Naomi McDonald is credited as the "Young Voice 1" of body type B of the player's Tarnished, as are other voice actors who voice the player such as Clare Corbett and Alison Dowling. Comparing Naomi's FromSoftware voice acting roles as a Milfanito, Stone Trader Chloanne, and Marie in Déraciné, to the DLC trailer narrator's voice, I think it is within her vocal range.

Actually, Young Voice Protagonist 1 Type B is one of the voices you can choose for your female character during character creation. Our protagonist has voice (when they are hit, when you give a wave, when you do certain attacks, etc.) and you can choose those voices.
So you’re saying that if we use the Great Rune of the Unborn our character can be reborn and have the same voice as Miquella? Almost like we could mimic Miquella? That would be crazy, somebody should make a video about that…

If that's sort of Miquella's spirit avatar, or like you imply he's possessing St. Trina, I'm really hoping we get to fight along side them, both in aspect of Empyrion and Saint, because consider this; We know our main fight is with Mesmer, and from interviews we know he's supposed to be about as tough (if not tougher) than Malenia, and we hear so much about how strong and powerful Miquella is. If he's stronger than Malenia, even diminished I don't doubt he could wipe the floor with the Lands Between. So imagine fighting a climatic battle with this figure of legend we're only heard about the entire game, and us, fighting the truly unwanted son of Marigon (Radika? Do... Do we have a name for these two as one?). Probably wishful thinking, but it could be fun. Sleep + Golden Order Fundamentalism mixed with whatever nonsense we bring with us...

Ey bro, just wanna drop a comment and say you make some great content. Been following for a while, was hooked after watching the eclipse video, and you have such a cool take on the lore and present your speculations in such a cool and different fashion (black swordsman and the preceptor character). You and a couple others have peeked my attention the most when watching elden ring lore content (I was a lot of it), and that's why I think it´s so cool watching you team up with Kitetales for a timeline and give flowers to Centered Tarnished and Elden tales. Been watching all of you separately, itching for the next video to drop and now you all link up, fucking lore-avengers assemble.

I did notice the clues with the braids and the holding an object to one's face and obscuring the eyes, even the squint is somewhat evocative of the statues of child Miq that has the eyes carved out in a very undefined way. Tho it seems a biiiiit too obvious of a lead. I'm leaving to myself the possibility that this is a Millicent-like situation, this character being like a descendant of Miquella's or emulating them reverently. Another thing, all shots of supposed Miq in both trailers are of him child-like, tho they just as well could be pre-coccoon of course.
I really want this knight to be Miquella. I think that would be an interesting twist. We would walk with him and he'd share with us his thoughts, his ambitions, the principles he would follow. And we would be compelled to follow, not by magic; not by manipulation, but by his vision. By his ideals.
There may be some blood soaked catch, but I think maybe the radiance may be blinding instead. What does "good" and "pure" look like when they reach their extremes?
We literally see her kneeling at the golden thingy(presumably Miquella's "grace", could it be the new levelling system? Maybe even something we have to collect in order to restore Miquella's divested strenght?) lol she is the narrator of the DLC trailers so it seems.
Also, kinda funny how everyone hyper-focus on their speculation and theories to make Miquella a griffith clone. However, everyone ignoring the fact she says 'we CHOOSE to follow'.
The doubts around Miquella's character come from statements made by others about him, but actions speak louder than words.

Would be a big disappointment if he is just a better griffith clone. TBH would be quite a twist to finally have something possitive in a FS game, maybe the world going to shit made them finally add a possitive tone to the game.
I have a video specifically saying that Miquella is not Griffith. Just because they share similar visual motifs does not make them the same character. Check it out, you might like it!
A wholeheartedly agree with you. I think Malenia regarded Miquella as "most fearsome" is referring to his potential that far surpasses other empyrians, Malenia and Ranni respectively. It's evident by his ability to create unalloyed gold and even his own version of Erdtree.
Marika knows what else he could do :)

The fact is the trailer shows us St Trina and looks quite different from this character. IIRC St T's torch also indicates the adult form of hers to be "monstrous", then again at this point everyone could be Miquella even torrent lol
@@camerondevoe4700I think the key difference is the band of the hawk knew what Griffith's dream was, and they were charmed by his conviction that he, a commoner, could have a kingdom of his own and he was well on his way to reach that too.
Miquella is the opposite, he was a demigod, an empyrean even. And he too, was loved by many, but he chose to leave all of them behind. His status, his blinding strength, even his "fate".
I think by fate here is referring to his fate as a God, just like Malenia was to become the goddess of rot. A god to the unwanted, because that is his kindness.
It's akin like People worshipping a figure when they are desperate, something to cling to in life. St Trina might very well be a 'god' that these people created, Miquella in their image.
Everyone chose to follow Griffith too, even when they rescued him just before the eclipse. They're not mutually exclusive

um... the unnamed character's right eye is hidden behind their sword and its their left eye we can see.
Additionally, Melena and Ronnie have opposite eyes closed (one right, the other left).
Melina and Ranni both have their left eyes closed. I think you’re thinking Ranni is her puppet. But you can see her actual floaty spiritual head half phased out of the doll’s head and they share her left eye and the doll’s right eye. But it’s Ranni’s actual left eye, even in spirit form, that is closed.
I don't know why I haven't thought about this, but the image kind of implies that we will see the face beneath the helmet at some point. Don't remember an NPC ever taking their helmet off, except for Patches.
The crisscross pattern symbolizes the rune of Radagon I think. The rune of abundance
it's probably St Trina aspect of Miquella if it is. I'm thinking the Inverted Carian Scholar is the one warning of Miquella from the first trailer and you can pick a side, maybe get a secret boss like bloodborne endings depending on your actions.
Dude the connection of having two souls and two minds being in one body is LITERALLY RADAGON MARIKA, which we know the children share traits just like how we see fragments of Marika scattered after letting go and shattering the elden ring and fragments of Malenia after she let go and gave in to the Rot
Could be a Mimic Tear, but more molded by Miquella to be who they want themselves as if they weren't cursed with infinite youth.

I wonder if Miquella is waiting for a lord that is Equals to him someone that isn’t compel to his affections similar how Griffith only view a friend that is his equal to him (Which I know he was bullshit himself because he already considered guts friend). So the question is what is Miquella ideal lord?
If you look at the unique crossguard and handle together they also resemble marika's crucifiction rune and under the radagon lattice there appears to be an amber gem embedded in the blade like the haligtree knight sword, hence representing both of the parents and the child, just my opinion
there's a potential that fromsoft reused the character creator preset for the character on the recent promotional artwork. The female Enchanted Knight starting class in the Elden Ring network test has a face similar to the person on the artwork

The Erdtree is made of bodies!
And the Gloam Eyed Queen was the previous God and Marika killed them and took the Elden Ring from them and used it to create the Erdtree.
Another theory I'm just thinking of is that the "shadow tree" we see in the trailer is the original 'great tree' that is connected to the 'great tree roots' that span all of the lands between. It has been used/sacrificed in the process of creating the 'Golden Erdtree' and the lands that are "bathed in gold"/Leyndel and all its blessings, and this is what is left behind, the 'Land of Shadow' and the 'Shadow Tree' being drained of its sap and dew to feed a division, like the Rune of Death being removed from the Elden Ring, the Shadow has been removed from the Light, but it has not been purified, only hidden away. This might be Miquilla's Ultimate Goal, to Purify the World and/or maybe even restore the Original Order and Balance of the world before it was changed and altered by Gods and Men.

i was thinking that this person was miquella too when they suddenly posted a nameless new npc with no context, and i thought that this is the mature form miquella takes as he ventures the land of shadows, probably for better protection, to be his own sword now that his sister isn’t there to protect him anymore.
but then one thing doesn’t make sense, this character appears in the lands between too, as their shoes can be seen in the gameplay trailer. how can miquella be both inside and outside the egg at the same time? how can the narrator claim that miquella abandoned his physical form if there he is in his physical form? it doesn’t add up.
an idea is that miquella abandoned his physical form and possessed another body, like shabriri, or more likely, who you’re seeing is the cut content character rico, a character that’s intended to be very involved with miquella and st trina, now moved to the dlc.
or rico could be the masked npc sleeping in the swamp in the gameplay trailer and was revealed to be one of miquella’s followers in the story trailer. either way, i do agree that we can’t trust this griffith/legarde/abyss razor looking ahh mf

I like this I do, but I'm calling it, St. Trina and Miquella were once 2 separate entities, and St. Trina is the gloam eyed queen, as well as Messmers mother. We the player character are widely speculated to be "Miquellas promised Lord". So when Messmer says "Mother" in the first trailer, he is not questioning Marika, he is questioning St
Trina/Miquella. In the key art from the first trailer, Messmers serpent is coiled around his spear in the same shape of Miquellas great rune. St. Gloam-eye was once Marika's twin, then Marika betrayed her, and ripped the gold from her, i.e. the newest trailer. St. Trina then became Miquellas alter ego and shared what she knew with Miquella about Marika wanting to be eternal and her age be neverending. Miquella and St. Trina, like Radagon and Marika were once separate and then became one, and Miquella shedding his flesh caused the two to split once more and Trinas soul had nowhere to go and is now a spirit. Which is why Trina disappeared as fast as she appeared, she relayed the information to Miquella and showed him how to shed his flesh. All to put a stop to "Marika's eternal reign".
But Messmer has been around since before Miquella was born

messmer was born like from 10 to 100 years before miquella, and st trina was his fate as a god, as an emypearn that succeded, it they were 2 separeted entity, and the world rules are constant than ranni dind't need to to all that shit just to free herself of her body and her destiny if u simply can simply split in two or merge, miquella freed himself probably because he also left his flesh (he died) but ranni probably didn't want to stay chained to the shadow realm and wanted completle freedom.
marika was never separeted from radagon, marika has always been radagon, in the trailer she is seen with a boy like body and faintly red hair, she probably have control over her souls and what can be in her body stating that she came from the world of dead and spirit as a numen (from the japanese version)
but another more speculative theory is that the rune of the unborn is radagon's rune, a souls that was teared from his body befor beign born. that's why he had it with himself (he can't possibly had a child w rennala setted in amber because amber wasn't found in liurnia, he carried his soulles body w him) and marika put it in his body because who know. and also is stated in a dialogue "ur not still a god" so it make sense that radagon was born as a demigod under the tree and then be absorbed by marika. but either case, radagon and marika weren't 2 separe entities (alive at least) and even if it was, it's stricly the power of the numen goddes that can manipulet souls, and even make mistake with them (radagon wasn't properly a success)
another point of view is that st trina was his identity when he was traveling the dream world (even so that people saw him in theyr dreams, but that "power to shrive clean the heart's of man" demonstrate that he still has his demigod's power, so he freed himself of his destiny, his body in short, and then with his power he came here to unveil the truth and become even more powerfull. my only theory his that he will fuck everyone and became a world treath (even in the trailer he charmed his followers)

I can't see the character's actual color aside from knowing it's light. It's too obscured by the hair strands, which also could be affecting how we perceive the hue, but, who knows?

This has to be Miquella. The belt is the same at the ring on Miquellas body, the braided hair, the closed eye, like Ranni and Melina…who both live outside their flesh. It HAS to be Miquella.
I don't think its Miquella but its worth mentioning how the sword shares the identical hilt shape to the sacred relic sword and finger slayer blade. That shape intentionally shows the connection between the two items, the fact they are forged from the corpse of a god or powerful being.
Having the same unique shape is telling. And it would be just like Miquella to recreate something made from corpses but with his unalloyed gold instead. Just as we assume the erdtree is built off corpses but he created his own tree with his own blood. Would be fitting for him to create a new sacred sword by other means as well.
I'm very interested in more lore of the golden centipedes! He might be the origin of the centipede wheel and how you can split your soul from your body

It occurs to me you can trace miquella's timeline based on the metallurgy of his crafts.
He makes gold crafts(epitaph)until the eclipse turns the shotel silver(pale gold) then seemingly turns to ranni the nox and the eternal cities for their silver work(weapons/mimics/albinaurics), after the shattering he begins to alloy the two metals(alloyed needle).
Maybe a bit iffy on the timeline but its pretty close.

(Admittedly, the people who are upset by it are less worried about the characters and more about the idea that it normalizes the idea that misgendering in a larger sense is okay and not out of concerns about their fictional feelings, but I tend to doubt it actually has any impact in that sense). I'm only saying that misgendering shouldn't be categorized as inclusivity.

Good video. One curiosity - I thought Miquella was cursed with forever youth. If the new blonde knight they show is Miquella, then perhaps the curse does not extend to the Land of Shadows, and maybe that's his only remaining option to cure Melania from the Rot curse, after the Haligtree failed, which I believe is his only goal in the end.
Godwyn has a massive part to play in all of this imo. I agree that he wants to heal Melania, but he also wants to give Godwyn a proper death.
I also think he's trying to ascend to godhood, like his mother!

When we kill Morgott, his body turns to a skin who there’s old corpse with no omen taint. When we see miquella (presumably dead) in his cocoon, he looks identical and is no longer eternal young. I think when people die in the lands between their curses are lifted. I think that’s why Miquella planned to die of body so that his spirit could move on to the lands of shadow, free of his curse! Wherein he could carve out a NEW fate for himself!

Not gonna lie, looking at the morai mask side by side with this image, I’m definitely inclined to believe this is miquella. And he’s definitely a Griffith parallel idc
The reason I say this is; fromsoft loves subverting expectations, an example of this is Bloodborne and its DLC. If you’ve played Bloodborne you know about how the game throws a curveball halfway through, but it’s DLC however, we were led to believe that Lady Maria would have been the final boss in the DLC. However it was orphan of kos, a reference to guts. Also berserk is a manga where you as the reader are omniscient, you know what’s happening as it’s going on while some characters may not, while in Elden ring, there’s a LOT that goes on behind the scenes that we only learn about through item descriptions and we’re left to speculate about everything regardless. I think miquella will eventually turn his back towards us.

Is the character’s two halves wearing two different outfits under that white cloak? One side looks like armour and the other more like fabric with a necklace. The shades of blonde are also different on the two halves of the head. It could be a shadow thing ( pun intended ), but it still looks a bit like two halves of slightly different characters cut into one.
I intend to play the DLC and consider everyone I see a possible candidate to be the REAL Miquella.
We see Ranni’s right eye, Melina’s right eye, (possibly) Miquella’s left.

I’d say Miquella’s spirit displays femininity and Trina’s does masculinity. Just because fun times
to the comments saying it's the narrator, well obviously it's the narrator, BUT that doesn't mean that they aren't Miquella/Trina.
I had similar suspicions when I saw the image since the light Gold hair, and the braids invoke Miquella, BUT could also be someone related to Miquella, or just someone copying the style.
My Theory is that it's St Trina leading us to the Withered corpse to touch the Withered hand, which will somehow transport us to the Shadow Lands. Maybe there's a way to travel between worlds via sleep and touching the hand will render us asleep, or (a real wild theory) is that touching the hand will have us mind meld with Miquella in the Shadowlands and we fight via their body, meanwhile our body is still back at Mohgwin palace.
Gotta find the requirements to rock that entire drip.

As I've been playing through the game, I keep thinking, "Miquella...".
I'm in Nokron Eternal City, and I'm noticing Nacent Butterflies. I found the Silver Tear Mask, "To imitate the imitator is a cunning play indeed.". Silver foil hat on I guess? For some reason I immediately thought of not only the mimic veil, but I started to imagine Miquella wearing a disguise and thought of this. Got me thinking, the mimic tear boss you fight imitates you. Is anyone else imitating a mimic? Who are the mimics imitating?
But I'm going through and close to the fingerslayer blade in nights sacred ground, and I come across two mimics imitating female warriors. One has longer hair and wields a crossbow, and one is wielding a mace. One of these mimics, the one with the hammer, looks pretty similar to this new character. And similar to the 'test character' many say look similar. And peeking out from a corner, are a few nacent butterflies are right there, as well as many trina lilies above near the Ancestral Woods site of grace.
Also the nox white robes look slightly similar, but a different design. Same white with what looks like gold embroidery. Miquella is awaiting his promised lord. So are the nox, the lord of night. Trina lilies outside Rannis rise too...griffith....
In the Nights Sacred Ground, as well as before the Moon of Nokstella, two mimics turn into familiar faces:
One uses a short spear and tower shield, much like Patches.
The other uses a Zweihander, much like Berhnal
And one opens the chest and takes the Fingerslayer blade ;)

Nah, Carian Knight Swords and the Miquellan Knight swords don't look like that.
If anything, it looks more like the Sacred Relic Sword.
Meaning, someone died to make that weapon, their corpse IS the weapon.
And only a God could forge such a sword, perhaps Miquella already acheived godhood, and now wants something else. Maybe a Lord, or maybe something darker.

I know Miquella is similar to Griffith but just because they have similarities doesn’t mean they will have the same personality or way of doing things. I really hope FS doesn’t make Miquella into a reskin of Griffith because he’s his own character and deserves to be treated as such.
