My short film ANV is a compilation of Storytelling ideas and Sci-fi concepts I've had in my head for years. It also was a way to explore single artist independent animation workflows.
Most of my animation career I've created short from commercial work. When I was coming up with the story and script I definitively made a huge effort to develop a longer narrative, this helped guide the visual approach for a very effective animation pipeline for a single artist.
ANV was created to have a nonstop engagement narrative style without compromising story beats and dramatic rhythm.
Even if you watch the film once, you will find more details on subsequent viewings.
Thanks to everyone that has already given me overwhelming amounts of support.
Jeb
Nice work! What ANV stands for?
@@tamaspapp225 it means ACTA NON VERBA : acts, not words : actions speak louder than words. in Latin. Stay till the end and you'll see it.! Thanks for watching
@@jebcg I liked it! And you're right--'acta non verba' was definitely shown throughout the feature. I'd like to think these two become quite the odd couple, as the alien learns how to navigate and understand earthlings, and its new human friend is there to guide them. I'd also like to think that another branch of the ANV is always out there, trying to get them somehow.
Absolutely stunning..L'chaim. I'll teach you some Aramaic. It's the slang of Hebrew. Schlama means peace. Malkuth means heaven. Hubba means love. Sincerely Jacova 11. Gevurah born March 11th in Bethlehem. Aka Klaatu 11.
ANV..Alien Nuance Vehicle.
Alien seemed like a chill dude
That was excellent. I got to hand it to ya, it must have been hard to write a story, that tells the story without uttering a word. The lac of communication, is actually what made this understandable to more people than if it had a dedicated language.
Writing the script was probably the hardest part for me since I'm not an experienced writer. But once I got the hang of, it it was actually a lot of fun. Thank you so much for watching!
Just like WALL.E. :)
The alien didn't take it out on her because she was afraid and thought she was doing the right thing. Then things slowly changed.
The cool thing about being a new born is that you fear nothing!
@@jebcg Except from loud noises and falling.
its wawooo
Be kind to aliens as not all aliens are monsters
On Earth humans are the Monsters!
Hell.. we don’t know if ANY aliens are monsters. Or if they all are. I’d also bet on us being the horrible ones though
Nice ones stop coming time Ago...
@@Sarakate601 I woudnt bet on anything regarding how we are in comparison with other civilizations, ailens. Like you said, we don't know, AND I know it's popular to be pessimistic about humans in this current time.
BUT if I am to bet on something, I would not bet we are THE worst monsters out there, nor that we are THE saints. Because that would mean we are the statistically unlikely outliers. With our sample of one, that's unlikely.
Just for example:
Our closest cousins bonobos and (despite their reputation) chimpanzees and humans themselves don't make it on the top 30 list of mammals that murder their own kind the most. This is a list from extensive research, not buzz feed btw.(And that is not counting most other animals, like insects.)
If we are not the most murderous species on earth, why assume we are that in the universe.
Unless our planet is partially violent, which is possible, I suppose.
Also, unfortunately, if you have heard of the Fermi paradox, it explains, that there might be a chance that intelligent species are actually usually quite self-destructive.
Our monstrous nature may come more from the power we gain from our intelligence and the responsibility it gives us, that fail to live up to. Rather than that, we are some animal with an unusual lack of instinctive morals.
@@Sarakate601 Btw, the No 1 most murderous mammal is meerkat, if you're curious.
You are almost 20% likely to be murdered (by your own kind) if you are a meerkat.
I was transfixed by this video from start to finish. Excellent graphics and plot line. It is a masterpiece of cinematography. Kudos to all involved at every level.
Your compliments mean a lot. Thanks for the motivation!
Just imagine how much these two could change Earth for the better! Of course the concept of all the alien worlds they could visit would also be very cool. 10/10.
I have lots of ideas for the future. Thanks for watching
@@jebcg I would love to see this as a full length feature or miniseries. You could probably make a fortune from a licensed toy line alone. I know my inner 7 year old would not let me rest until I had the whole collection.
Maybe we can get a look at the "visitor's" biology and homewotld? And what's going on with the biomechanical spheres he or she produces? I'm guessing they have many functions other than acting as a cardiac pacemaker and EMP device. So many questions...but I want to know it all.
@A Channel About Nothing hey that's my dream also. To have all my stuff as action figures. Thank you very much for the encouraging words
@@jebcg Groovy! I hope you can make it happen!
@@Kneon_Knight I am gonna try some 3d printing first
I love the multi-eyed alien. Great story and reminder that human is also HUMANE! Kudos!
Thank you ! 👽
Wot is human 🙏❤️🙏
Nothing like an interdimensional digestive system for spicy food.
lol, hahaha
Awesome. Transfixed from start to finish. Well done.
Means a lot to me! thanks a lot.
Interesting / weird story! Great animation! Cute protagonist! Alien has a head like the head of a tapeworm!
Thank you for watching!!
So important to watch through the credits. 😉
🙏🤘
Thnx I would've missed that last scene
Brilliant, Jeb ... please do more and more and more!
Thanks you so much! Really appreciate it!! Doing more is always in my plans!
Excellent film that perfectly showcases today's human mentality. No matter what, shoot first, THEN ask questions.
When I was editing, when the first explosion came up.. I gotta say it made me chuckle every time. Thanks for watching
Don't stop watching the video once the credits start rolling. There is a little something extra after them.
Appreciate the attention to the detail.!! Thank you very much
It always amazes me seeing secretaries type fast on their keyboard without looking at it.
LOL, I'm old enough to say I had mechanography class in highschool... .👴🏽
Amazing graphics, and gadgetry....I love the outdoors scenes....A little hard to follow, but very entertaining.
THANKS A LOT! I just made it in a way that you can get more out of it if you decide to watch it again! 😁😁
@ jebcg...An incredible work of artistry and storytelling!!! Thank You for this beautiful gift!!
Thank you so much for such kind words.!!
Is SCI-FI 🎉, The unexplained ball thing. That is the principal element that classified the history as sci-fi. 😊
Very nice; another good example of "show, don't tell".
Thank you! ANV means ACTA NON VERBA : acts, not words : actions speak louder than words. in Latin.
BRILLIANT! with Absolutely no doalogue!
Thank you for watching it !!!
Only 656 likes outta 2.7 million dust subscribers. That's not cool.
Not exactly sure what happened at the end.
His ship was all woke, so it broke. I guess(?)
I've to say thanks to the sound director who is it was, it made better job then many multimillion dollar movies from Hollywood
Thank you so much!. I'm not an audio guy but I tried to do the best I could. I love ASRM!
There's more monsters on Earth than we're likely to run into for a few centuries.
The Alien was a Biologists! ET's Uncle!
I loved the animation, the right mix of silly kiddy toons and serious stuff goin' down! The fact that you tell a story with no dialogue is just awesome and speaks volumes about your animating skills and creative imagination. Thank you for this!
I always wanted to see stuff like this as a kid thats where the idea first took off. Thanks for watching!
Lesson of the story: If you meet an alien for the first time, and you agree to start first contact by vivisecting it, then don't refuse to give your boss what you find.
lol, that's a new take I haven't heard. 🤣
I half expect this to be the birth of LegoMan.
hahah awesome comment!. Thanks for watching !
Гарний мультфільм..
No script. Yet still engulfed. Inspiring to say the least
Glad to hear the story was captivating. I put a lot of effort on that 🙏🏾🙏🏾
The lighting is gorgeous
Thank you so much Anna!! That is one of my favorite things to do in 3d animation.
One of the hardest things to do is to learn about one self. Both the light and the dark. And then turn it into a shade of grey.
Humans make me want to throw up too lol
LOL, some are worth saving... haha thanks for watching!
Wonderful!
Brave New World that's digestible. She's vulnerable but not too fearful. Curious & adaptable. Hope the sequel is equally enigmatic.
Thanks for watching it! 🙏
23:41 So I'm gonna just kind of casually bump into you now and Eat You!🧟
Everything about this is fascinating... EVERYTHING!
👏BRAVO👏 BRAVO
What brilliant animation and use of miniature models and sets combined. A little weird but in a good way. Nice!
Even more incomprehensible than 2001.
Enjoyed this, but like so many Omeletos, it left me wishing I could find out what comes next!
That was brilliant, thanks. I'd love to see the continuing adventures of ANV the Alien. (I may have his/her name wrong).
My Stars what bizarre animation. Like little robots dolls. Maybe we will seem too real too, to them someday.
It makes me think that we know so very little about the different ways to have a conversation.
That was wonderful, extremely well done :)
Thanks Really appreciate it
That was pretty good, I was rooting for the alien all along :)
Thank you 🙏🏾🙏🏾👽
Wonderful, fantastic short film! I so hope for more episodes with the adventures of these 2 wonderful characters! 👽💧👩
Appreciate the comments. Thanks!!
Wildly different and totally good.
Thanks for that kind compliment 🙏🏾
Well... That was a visual treat but not very deep dialogue. I enjoyed it though. Thanks for sharing this with us. 👍✌️🖖
Lol. You got me there! Thanks!
Love it
Bravo this really held my attention through out. Loved it
Thanks for watching it and for the encouraging comments!
Absolute original masterpiece of animation. Loved every second of this. Very well made in every way.Thank you so much for making and sharing this great film!
Thank you so much fur such kind comment!
This, my friends, was based on a true story.
muy bueno esperamos q salga mas
Espero poder hacer más. Es cuestion de tiempo . Gracias !
Powerful many eyes with divine abilities 😻👽
Wow, how incredibly well made with that animation outside and in that big kind of spaceship, and that combined with those cool sounds and music in the background! Not to mention made without a written script at all! And then you can only follow the storyline through the mimics depicted for all motions, movements and sounds of the various figures! For me this DUST SF SHORT FILM is not so much really exciting, but more funny! And that's also because of this funny looking alien, the weird kind of astronaut suits from that ANV angency team, and how that alien with many eyes ate that one ANV angency guy and then spit him out a bit later!
HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!! 😀😁😂🤣😜🤪🤫🤭
My compliments to the makers of this special, funny (weird in positive way!) DUST SF SHORT FILM!!!!! 🤩👍👏👩👽
Thank you so much Lex. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Magnificent beautiful 😊❤
Thank you so much!
Just brilliant! Great job!
7:48 the incredible CG animation that went into this can't be understated! You guys are real Artists🎭 I'm Gripped😧✨☄️🚚👽🧟🦎
Super trippant ! ! 5☆ 10/10 🤪
Thanks a lot Daniel!!
Loved how the only "humane" characters are the girl and the alien dude.. Everyone else is people in robot suits.... Also the girl and alien dude are the only humble ones as well..
Thanks a lot for the time! Really appreciate it.
Wow!!
I ❤❤❤ Dust..
Xo from 🇨🇦
Thank you!!
This was very well done I think the lack of dialogue helps you to concentrate more on what's going on I think sometimes dialogue complicates things because you're trying to listen to what the dialogue says and what it means and you may miss out on some animation that could be more meaningful. A lot of the time dialogue can add things that are not needed..... actions speak louder than words sometimes
thank you so much .. the end card shrinks size really quickly and wont let you read that ANV means... ACTA NON VERBA 😉😉
That was excellent very much enjoyed the story great graphics 😁😁👍👍
Thanks for the compliments! I put a lot of hard work into it.
Superb. It's not often that I immediately send the link to friends let alone watch it again. I loved it the moment that I saw the little van. Hat's off. Thank you. More please..
Thank you so much for sharing !!!
Fantastic!

10:35 Helldivers unite! 😆
Really good. I like that no script makes you watch more closely for body language and details
Thank you. it was a fun challenge
one of the best so far !
Thanks a lot 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
СУПЕЕР !!
Thank YOu !!!
Nice to watch .
...👍 I liked it... Though I guess, that the creators played a lot with Playmobil figures in their childhood... 😀
Lol . Not gonna lie... I did. Thanks for watching

I do hope get back at it in the near future. Thank you for watching
Very well done, thank you for taking the time to make this 😀
Thank you so much. Took time, indeed. Almost 2 years
Beside of the high technically level, i really felt the atmosphere and empathie for the characters. There is a kind of melancholia, i really love.
Very good work!
Thanks you so much for such kind comment I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Trippy.
This was an oddly interesting short. 😅

Great. Not often I bother to log in on my account to give a like. But this one a had too. 5 stars out of 5 from me.
Thanks for that awesome comment. really motivating! 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Seems like this is only the start or introduction, is there more to the story? The alien despite being a bit freaky didn't seem to cause any real harm.
I kinda wanted it to work as a pilot episode in a way. who knows... everything is possible nowadays. Thanks for watching!
