The opening scene was just like a vivid dream I had way back in 2020. It was a post covid era dream where that facility you've created so realistically and so like my dream, is all closed down and neglected and off in the distance, there's a small city, all green and thriving, and in the centre is a triumphal arch, already aged. I'm a foreigner living in China. In the time of the covid, we lived that kind of quarantine for almost three years... Many dreadful things happen. Pretty good Sci-Fi Short. More realistic than some. It was really horrid how the garbage truck would come over with 2 drones to fly up and collect a dead body, and drop it into the truck like dropping trash. I liked how the main character took the wooden handle off the plunger, to use to break the servalence camera. And, I agree that it was genius for him to jump into the back door of the garbage truck to escape. Bravo!!👏👏
Our family denied the jab AND in return they stripped my twin sons of their sports scholarships for college. I watched this last year. I came back to re-watch because I had seen an ad for Factor and thought, "Wow, that looks like when the guy in After The Reset gets his food deliveries." This was painful yet beautiful to watch. The interesting thing is that if you ask people whether they'd like to live in some dystopian society in which social pressure and police powers are used to constrain people's otherwise lawful freedoms and where an elite group of politicians and leaders who, with very little oversight or restrictions, can decide what people can do, what they can have, where they can go, what then can eat, or whether or not they can work....the vast majority would say "No....never". And yet....and yet.....give those SAME people even just a whiff of fear or give them the moral permission to feel righteous in their political convictions and they are MORE than willing dictate to their neighbors what to do and how to live.....and the little totalitarian in them rises up and says "I actually do know better than my neighbors and I know THEY can't be trusted with their freedoms and so yes...I sorta would like the power to force my grubby neighbors to live in the ways I think are best." I was never mad at him despite his support for even lockdowns and vaccine mandates... he wasn't that mad at me for my opposition either, that is until yesterday: I woke up to being kicked out of the company's online groups without explanation. I asked him what was up... before he blocked me on his personal account too, he said recent posts on my personal page in an art gallery proved I've learned nothing and am still an anti-vaxxer and conspiracy theorist who needs a hard lesson. Since I no longer discuss such matters on the site in cause due to the crazy speech restrictions there, I was curious what I'd have said that offended him so badly; The only clearly relevant thing was me boosting and congratulating this film a few weeks ago. So yes: A decade old friend ultimately turned on me and officially kicked me out of his small firm... because I liked this animation. Obviously I don't regret sharing it, his behavior was inexplicable while simultaneously not shocking given everything I've seen in recent years. I care for him regardless which won't change; I don't expect him to ever change his opinions on what happened in the world, but at least hope his reaction toward me and the way he handled it he's lucid about and will someday decide to speak with me again. Just wanted to share this as a poetic reminder. When the main character gets into an argument with his girlfriend and they break up, that especially is most real. Except even he drove her out because he showed her the book... sometimes friends or relatives will turn on you for seeing something you said elsewhere, be it years after you post it in some situations.

I remember I got hired for my corporate position during COVID. I was the person taking the calls for anyone out for symptoms. What amazed me was how much this was already laid out. The opening scene was just like a vivid dream I had way back in 2020. It was a post covid era dream where that facility you've created so realistically and so like my dream, is all closed down and neglected and off in the distance, there's a small city, all green and thriving, and in the centre is a triumphal arch, already aged. It was really horrid how the garbage truck would come over with 2 drones to fly up and collect a dead body, and drop it into the truck like dropping trash. I watched this last year. I came back to re-watch because I had seen an ad for Factor and thought, "Wow, that looks like when the guy in After The Reset gets his food deliveries." This was painful yet beautiful to watch. Painful because all that was once dystopian fiction has in fact become the real world... beautiful because someone made this and didn't hold back, one of the ways to get the message out which platforms like RUclips can and will (hopefully) do nothing about. Just imagine yourself seeing this exact film 5 years ago, we'd find it completely random and never imagine it could relate to the real world... today even seeing this feels like we watched a (most welcome) act of rebellion. So on the one hand, they wouldn't admit to wanting to live in such a world, but on the other hand they are happy to take every step, engage in every action, and promote every policy that would ensure that world's creation.
Make no mistake, people who think and speak this way are speaking of slaves and masters....and in their imaginations envision themselves as the masters.
I'd like to share a true fact I consider film worthy in and of itself. I have a good friend for over 10 years, he owns a small firm and I've been around offering little bits of support early on. When the great flu season of the 2020's started, we like many were divided on the subject, with him fully embracing the official narrative and me being the pesky conspiracy theorist. I was never mad at him despite his support for even lockdowns and vaccine mandates... he wasn't that mad at me for my opposition either, that is until yesterday: I woke up to being kicked out of the company's online groups without explanation. I asked him what was up... before he blocked me on his personal account too, he said recent posts on my personal page in an art gallery proved I've learned nothing and am still an anti-vaxxer and conspiracy theorist who needs a hard lesson. Since I no longer discuss such matters on the site in cause due to the crazy speech restrictions there, I was curious what I'd have said that offended him so badly; The only clearly relevant thing was me boosting and congratulating this film a few weeks ago.
So yes: A decade old friend ultimately turned on me and officially kicked me out of his small firm... because I liked this animation. Obviously I don't regret sharing it, his behavior was inexplicable while simultaneously not shocking given everything I've seen in recent years. I care for him regardless which won't change; I don't expect him to ever change his opinions on what happened in the world, but at least hope his reaction toward me and the way he handled it he's lucid about and will someday decide to speak with me again.
Just wanted to share this as a poetic reminder. When the main character gets into an argument with his girlfriend and they break up, that especially is most real. Except even he drove her out because he showed her the book... sometimes friends or relatives will turn on you for seeing something you said elsewhere, be it years after you post it in some situations.
It felt a little slow at first but was well worth watching all the way through. I really liked the not so subtle sarcasm. George Orwell's 1984 mixed with reality, which sadly is too true.
