Thanks so much for this video! Bought a brother PE770 two weeks ago with no clue how to applique and have been searching for classes or information as I had gotten stuck! Found your video this morning - awesome! Thank you!!!
I enjoyed your video. I only have one suggestion to you. As a digitizer I learned this. On applique, the color changes that you have are only so the machine knows to stop, for the next step. You can, just use the thread color that you are finishing up with as your satin stitch for all... the first color is placement - second color tack down and 3rd as the satin finishing stitch.. so it is not necessary to change the thread on your machine each time. :) hope this helps save you some time.
I got this machine 3 weeks ago on the Walmart website for under $570. Their machines are exactly like the ones in the fancy stores. I called Brother to confirm this. Thanks to the great peeps on You Tube, I'm learning how to use it! Great machine, so I just bought the Brother HC 1850. I highly recommend them both!
Very Interesting. My area dealer intimated that the Big Box machines were of lesser quality....glad I didn't trust him. I ended up going with an Amazon purchase...he was charging 50% more!
Thank you so much for this. I was so terrified to applique on a shirt in fear of ruining it, I did a simple heart and it came out wonderful...I feel now I can actually accomplish this appliqueing.
You probably dont give a shit but if you are stoned like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all of the new series on instaflixxer. Been binge watching with my girlfriend these days =)
You're video was very helpful. Some of the things that you did, such as not hooping the shirt but pinning it to the stabilizer makes so much sense! I just did a thirty for my granddaughter last night and actually tore a small, hoe in the fabric where the metal on the hoop is. Also, at the point where you made a mistake and didn't thread the needle. I did not know how to start over until you did that. hope to find more of your videos. I have a hard time putting my hoop on the machine as well.
I've been on the fence about getting this machine (PE-770) but after watching this video I'm leaning more on the "Yeah, go ahead" side! Thanks and please keep these going since I'm going to need a lot of help :)
I didnt know you could go back and restart! Thanks so much.. I noticed that my pe240 would have a thread break.. would skip some area so when I started it back up it would have a small gap. thanks so much for the info! I also went to the applique site.. they have awesome appliques thanks again!!
Your work is beautiful. I also own a PE770, and love it, but that 5 X 7 hoop is sometimes so difficult to attach to the machine, also, you make pinning the shirt look easy. There is nothing easy about sewing a small shirt or a onesie. I still have nightmares when I try to hoop a onesie, so most of the time I stay away from them. I've ruined several onesie projects.
Love the video you show me things I've been wanting to learn for a few months now. Just wish the video was much clearer. But I think I'm ready to start my applique.
I enjoyed your video! You could have used the yellow thread for all the stitching up to the blue. It would have saved a little time, although you sure could thread your machine quickly! I also would have liked to see your face a time or two during the video. Thank you for making it!
I love your video. I have the PE770 and have embroidered some t-shirts and quilt labels but my problem is figuring out what stabilizers go with what type of fabric. I only used stabilizers on the bottom side of the t-shirts but your video makes so much sense to me now. Thanks for posting and I look forward to your other videos
Bom dia. Muito lindo o seu trabalho. Acabei de adquirir a minha PE 770, chegou ontem, espero também fazer lindos trabalhos. Gostei dessa tesoura, muito prática. Obrigada
Thanks again for posting, I am about to buy this machine and this is what I want to do with it!! I am so happy that you made this;) I have been looking for months !
Why do you change your thread color so often? You can really use the same color for placement, tackdown and satin stitching. Saves tons of time on a single needle machine. Great video. I learned a lot
I have the same machine. I'm so curious why your lettering at the end of the video did not pucker? I use Pellon Soft and Stay Cut Away on the back of mine, and I spray it onto my shirt. I noticed that you did not spray yours, yours is fusible, so I'm going to try that next! thank you!!!
Some people who down here complaining about how "YOU MAKE IT LOOK SO EASY" .....well it didn't come like magic people you have to practice then it is easy which then looks easy to viewers. graeat job AMY!
What type of interfacing do you put on the fabric? I just bought a PE770 and your video has been so helpful! I have never embroidered before and this machine has baffled me. Thanks for the tip about Ken's Sewing also, great prices!
i have corel draw and masterworks. i create the applique shape in draw and make it a few mm's smaller than the width of the hoop, making sure it is not longer than the hoop. i send the design to masterworks, convert it to applique. the smaller size allows me to add a basting rectangle. i go back to draw and make sure the design has no color fill but an outline. i print it out for a stencil for the fabric. the applique piece is cut to perfect size and i can baste the garment to the stabilizer.
GREAT video! I just bought this machine to do exactly what you did here - using fabric to fill an object and I had such a hard time finding any videos on how to do it! Also, I noticed you used the same color bobbin thread for the whole project. What color did you use? Thanks!
Where do you purchase your designs? I like how everything is broken down. Thank you for making this, I had no idea that you could do fabric applique with this machine. Everything that I found for fabric applique they were using a Brother PR 600 or higher which is really expensive, good to know you can do just the same with an affordable machine :) Great Video!!!
Just wanted to comment, there"s no need to change the color of the thread in your machine for the first 2 color stops in an applique piece. They're in the design just to stop the machine so you can put in your fabric and trim it before the satin or decorative stitch that goes around the applique.
I just ordered this machine and was wondering if they make another hoop that is bigger that can be ordered to use with this machine? Do you know by chance? Enjoyed you videos also, and the shirt is cute as a button also! :)
great video. i know you said you got the scissors at kens. what kind of scissors as there are a lot out there. and i can see how those make life easier.
Thank you soooo much for posting this!! I recently purchased this machine and have a heck of a time attaching the hoop, I am glad it isn't just me! Also appreciate the tip on the thread cap, mine gets tangled. What stabilizer do you use,
Just saw your comment about the prewound bobbin thread on Kens. Do you use the Brother brand or does it matter? Also, what type of thread do you use? I found a set of Rayon that I like. Is that a good one to use with this machine?
I am looking for a video on how to do a pocket tee. If you make one of those could you please post the steps. I am a visual learner and I am having trouble figuring out how to work this thing.
Thanks for your video, but how do you know how many minutes or hours the design will take. Does this machine calculate it? Have been asking this question for a while now, and have not gotten an answer.
How did you keep the embroidery from puckering? I tried this for the first time (I am new to ME) and my embroidered portion puckered really badly. The appliqué portion turned out great. I used a fusible medium weight tear-away stabilizer.
I don't really do ME but I suspect it has to do with the tension on your machine. Try loosening it up for the embroidery. Good luck and post your results!
I love this video. Except I hope you do realize the black & red are of no importance the color change is just so the machine stops so you can add the material & cut it away. You can use any color from the beginning & not have to actually change the thread until you want the color changed. Also if instead of cutting that thread when the machine is done you pull it out you would save about a foot of thread every thread change. Sorry, its just making me cringe every time you cut that thread & change those colors for no reason whatsoever. I'm not trying to be mean I guess I just am, IDK. Even I know better & I'm just learning all this.
I hear ya, I was in a particularly bad mood that day & could not keep my mouth shut. I was hoping you knew as well. All that thread changing would become annoying after a while. I hate to waste anything, that's just how I was brought up. I guess it stuck & stuck hard. LOL Keep up the good work.
Lady you are scaring me to death! People do not put your hands inside the hoop when the machine is on....if you need to move fabric out of the way you can push the green button and stop the machine.....this is how you get bloody fingernails and break your machine!
Thanks so much for this video! Bought a brother PE770 two weeks ago with no clue how to applique and have been searching for classes or information as I had gotten stuck! Found your video this morning - awesome! Thank you!!!
I just got a PE770 and never have machine embroidered before. You have inspired me. Thanks for your time and efforts.

Hi Brenda! Can you please explain this to me in detail? Thanks in advance!

very, very helpful. I haven't tried to applique yet because I am so scared. you helped calm my nerves. Thank you, Margie

I love the fact your ironing board has scorch marks like mine... and your assistance is a fab camergirl!

Difficult to attach hoop to machine, always!
Great video! I appreciate your time and patience with assisting the embroidery novice of the world. :). I've yet to use my machine.
Great Job, thanks for putting the time into it. I have not yet begun to use my machine and your video has given me the push I needed, Thanks :)

I'm new to this and your video clued me into solutions for problems I have encountered! Thnks!!!
Very informative video it taught me allot, just wish you had turned off the light on your machine so we could see it stitching.
beautiful , more videos like that please😊

I WOULD HAVE SPLIT THE SIDES OF THESHIRT AND JUST SEW IT BACK UP

what was that sticky fabric you used. I am so glad you did your video I just got a pe 770 so am very excited to get stated. thank again.

I have the same machines as you - Sewing machine, Serger, and PE770....I have not learned the serger yet...could you do some tutorials on the serger?
Also would like to know what thread you are using....so many questions, so little time...my machine should arrive next week!
I noticed that you did not have any thread problems. Could you tell me what thread you are using?
great video. i know you said you got the scissors at kens. what kind of scissors as there are a lot out there. and i can see how those make life easier.
What brand embroidery thread do you use?
Thank you for posting this tutorial - very good :)
Thank you soooo much for posting this!! I recently purchased this machine and have a heck of a time attaching the hoop, I am glad it isn't just me! Also appreciate the tip on the thread cap, mine gets tangled. What stabilizer do you use,
If you lift your pressure foot its easier to thread!
Did you sew your left thumb? Read so many posts about this happening lately, I'm sceered I will do that someday . Thanks for the video
great video ! thanks.
what kind of stabilizer did you use in your hoop ?
a
Just curious, why do you not hoop your shirt along with the stabelizer?

What was on the back of your fabric again before you stitch it. It looked like a sticker
Ae you changing out your bobbin colors as well?
Hi Beth Hays... maybe it says Applique on t shirt using "brother embroidery pe770"
Would this be a good time to use sticky stabilizer, I'm a newbie, just wondering.
Can you please suggest where to buy such blank shirts for applique. Thanks
Do you digitize as well?
Thanks for the video. Where did you get your scissors? and mini iron?
Also what color bobbin thread do you use for this?
HOLA CUAL ES EL PROGRAMA QUE UTILIZO EN LA PC COMO HAGO PARA DESCARGARLO?
Are you going to do more Videos? . . this one was a good one :)
Do you monogram clutches? I would love to know how you do yours
Thanks for your video, but how do you know how many minutes or hours the design will take. Does this machine calculate it? Have been asking this question for a while now, and have not gotten an answer.
no

Get spray tack, that helped me
hello would you be able to use this as a regular sewing machine also
No. There are no feed dogs on this machine.
What kind of stabilizer did you say you used?
where did u get that itty bitty iron? love it! LOL
How often do u change your needle?
what size needle did you used in this design?
what size needle are you using??
What brand is that stabilizer please?
There was a lot of good info in here but I sure wish you'd make a new video and have it in focus this time. It was hard to watch with it out-of-focus.
what software do I need to do appliqués and embroidery designs/monograms/lettering
Does it already come with the machine? Like a sample or do I have to add all that just for monogramming and applique
I bought sew art. There's a demo one available. Just download different demos and see which program works best for you.
How do I leave a space when putting two words together on a brother embroidery machine 500d disney?
On your alphabet, it will have a blank space that you will push like part of the word. Scroll forward after the z.
Hi Maureen, Thank you so much, I'm new to this and really appreciated your help. Regards Jane .
Did you find the space Jane? I looks like this _
Yes Maureen I did find it, many thanks.

Why do you keep sticking your hands in the hoop. It makes it very hard to see what is going on.
I love this video. Except I hope you do realize the black & red are of no importance the color change is just so the machine stops so you can add the material & cut it away.
