TY for this one. I had forgotten what a complete fighter JL was. His right but the KOs but he set them up with hooks to the head and body. Definitely a fast fighter for his era. Fantastic.
With all due respect to Ali, Joe Louis is the greatest heavyweight of all time. I firmly believe that it’s not truly possible to compare two fighters of different eras. As in the circular argument, who would beat who? In the end, your left with records, stats, who you competed against and under what circumstances, so forth. Joe Louis defeated more opponents, won more rounds, defended his title more and achieved more knockouts then most all heavyweights. He reigned longer then any heavyweight champions I can think of. Joe had a fierce punch with either hand. Ali was a better defensive fighter and faster with his footwork and reactions, but Joe’s hands were as fast as a bullet. I saw Joe’s fight against Two Ton Tony, where one of Joe’s punches lifted him off the ground vertically. The Brown Bomber is the greatest! It’s sad that all the great things Joe did are so long ago that unless you know a lot about boxing history, many of us have forgotten.

Notice how Louis keeps his elbows in tight to his body, that's how he generates so much power especially with his six inch punch, very few fighters exploit that style
@@HomeofCombatSports. Hard to Say... Louis was the superior boxer. Rocky had tremendous power and an iron chin. A decision would favor Louis. Rocky would need a knockout to win. In my opinion...

Mike Tyson's era was physical prime, Ali's was technical/physical prime. One era is not to be considered with the other. May we just enjoy greatness as it was and as it is - along the way!
If you want the most accurate information on ANY out what their opponents said about them. Certainly Sugar Ray Robinsin ( Robinson was able to DO what experts said could not be done.) The stat I am about to reveal is the reason Sugar Ray Robinson is my all time pound for pound champion. The fact that people dispute me over this only shows their stupidity and their ignorance of boxing. After 129 professional fights SRR was 128 and 1. That's not possible. However when an athlete conquers the impossible I have to rate him number 1.😢

Nicely done. But Ali was too fast and too quick. Louis beat a lot on guys who had no chance. Billy Conn? Great fighter but not a heavyweight. Jersey Joe Walcott, OK, but there weren't a lot of great heavyweights at the time. Ali could have dazzled Louis, as he did Foreman, another awesome puncher..
Now now, Ali lost to Norton and Frazier, it's not impossible that Louis beats him. And the guys Louis beat had no chance because Louis was that good, not because they were bad fighters. Ray Arcel trained Duran and he trained some of the guys that Louis beat.

Indeed
Charles James fast for any era. Blinding combinations
fastest hands in the division next to Ali, Tyson and Patterson.

Yeah Joe is the man.
Rocky was 49-0 and knocked out an aging Louis.

That would have been a hell of a fight...
not rocky

Louis. I think Tyson would've knocked him out prime vs prime, Ali wins against him too going the distance
Louis should comfortably win this.
Both could take a punch and hit hard but Louis had speed, technique, defense, size and reach on top of all that.
Loved this! What a great tribute to the greatest boxer we've ever had 👍👍👍

Watch the whole fight of Louis vs. Walcott. Walcott had Lewis beat, but he started acting cute and Joe nailed him.
Max schmeling beat him too, but in the second fight not

I believe Cus said that because at the point in History there was no other heavyweight that compared to AL, But yeah ali was way to fast.
