pentesters use it a lot. so do threat analysts. if you want to get invovled and get hands on check out TraceLabs and the work they do. could be a great way to network and get skills. also check out the www.theosintion.com/

Hey, Gerald. I just discovered your channel. I've been exploring Cybersecurity as of recently and will start my Cybersecurity Analytics bootcamp at Flatiron soon. I plan on getting a Security+ afterwards and my goal is to become a junior SOC analyst at first (if possible, or I will just go with a help desk job to get more experience) and then proceed from there.
A few questions that I have for you:
-Do you have any knowledge of how well the Cybersecurity Analytics program provided by Flatiron prepares you for the job of a SOC analyst?
-I plan on setting up a home lab and getting used to the tools that I will use at the job- Nessus, Splunk, Snort, PowerShell, etc. What other applications/skills do you think I should work on to get the proper experience that will help me prepare for a SOC analyst job?
-For now, I have been getting a very generalized view on Cybersecurity before my bootcamp starts- understanding different types of malwares, encryptions, safety protocols, best practices, etc. Do you think there is a specific area in which I should focus more if I want to become a SOC analyst?
Thank you for the help in advance.
EDIT: I found your SOC analyst playlist. Thank you very much.
