Thank you much Dr. Auger. All of your content is super helpful. I’m attempting to get back into networking and cyber security space.
Thank you for guidance, sir!!
I think the fact that there are so many videos on youtube (from multiple channels) talking about how to get a cyber security job proves that there isn't an overwhelming demand for cyber security professionals. Sure, there are some industry leaders complaining about how there is a "shortage". But what they are really complaining about is how they can't get away with paying cyber security workers 30-40k like they do with other types of workers and that they actually have to invest some money in training.
Thank you for these helpful videos. You are awesome! This community is amazing and I can’t wait to be a part of it. I’m an HR Manager and diligently working towards pivoting into a career in Cybersecurity.
My pleasure and our cybersecurity community is definitely inclusive and supportive. Looking forward to your transition. Best wishes David
Hi Gerald and Stephen, thank you for producing such a valuable training for us in the cyber security industry - these things are so often overlooked at as top strategies and areas to master, I especially liked the emphasis on the critical soft skills -like STORYTELLING, mastering storytelling is a pro-tip upgrade to an introverts life! it's absolutely needed for any kind of true success in your life - it builds trust and rapport - making people like you and relate to you, and removes "resistance" like nothing else... do you have the next episode in the series listed? thank you so much! Awesome training that will bring real benefit and tangible results when applied to the resume!
Exactly the video i need
thank you very much for this video, keep them coming
You bet! ep2-6 will be coming out the next 5 mondays. Keep an eye on your mailbox :-P
Yes thanks for your template! I love mine! -Marie
Hi Garry I just started loving your content😊
Awesome. Thanks for supporting the channel and happy you're enjoying it.
This dude seems cool ;) Good talk!
Glad you think so! There are 5 more episodes coming that will cohesively align and provide a complete battle plan for getting a job that pays well and being satisfied. (at least with that part)
Neal uses "What? So what? Now what?" for resume bullets.
What did you do, how did that impact the organization, and what is going on now because of it?
Another great mnemonic (ish) to help
Write/review resumes
Right now, the main tools I use are Rapid7, knowbe4, proofpoint, and carbon black. As someone with only a year experience, what should I get into next outside of my current company? Splunk, Sumo, or something else? I feel like every new job description has something I've never even heard of. I think Splunk has some cheap certs
Those are good tools. You should really focus on the functionality of the tools as thats what will transfer. For example, you dont need to learn Qualys if you got Rapid7, but understand the challenges of effective vulnerability management at an org. The tool can tell you stuff and report stuff, but its just a tool to help you manage that capability. Same for Carbon Black. Great tool, but focus on the capability of EDR, how its deployed, where are the shortcomings, etc. This way if you move to a new company you are product agnostic and can get spun up on Microsoft Defender for Endpoints (for xample, because you have the theory and conceptual underpinnings of EDR as a capability.).
if you are looking for the next thing, SIEM is def good, cloud (Azure) is good, and IAM (which is its own animal honestly) is good.
@@SimplyCyber Thanks for your advice Dr. Would you say that it makes sense to keep up with the leading tools that are highly rated by gartner? (ie. siem=splunk/securonix, tracking=servicenow, vulnerabilty scans=nessus/qualys).
A picture helps a lot in my experience, especially for those with a non-western name living in a western country
I can see that, and hope services like LinkedIn can help highlight that.
I'm sorry this has to be this way
I use a cover letter and a thank you letter
THANK YOU FOR THE BOOK!!! 8)
You get it? Initial thoughts?
@@SimplyCyber the layout is clean and precise, and going through the various chapters real fast I see quite a bit of very interesting topics to read. I'm currently finishing another book before I pick this one up. My next question is how do I get your signature on it lol :-)
@@SimplyCyber also I will definitely give you an Amazon review as soon as I get done with it:-) Thanks again and I look forward to more of your videos. Just an update, I'm beginning to focusing more on the overlap between cybersecurity and blockchain technology I think eventually that is where I will be landing 8)
@@omniinvestments7128 blackhills beau bullock did a blockchain webinar last Wednesday if you didn’t see it. Could help w this transition. Plus I’ve got Charles Finfrock coming back in November . We can ask him more blockchain questions.

I wonder what positions in Information Technology uses the most programming because I have a strong background in computer languages. As I get more certifications in Information Technology.
I guess its penetration tester, but I doubt its entry level
logic programming
I'd ur book on audible?
Unfortunately with the guest its hard to tell when he’s speaking from knowledge/experience versus confidence. A lot of his propositions seems fairly speculative even if enthusiastically presented.
too long
Thanks for taking time to share feedback. Be well.
