Great advice, per usual! Also as someone who has been watching you for a while and seeing your overall production grow, the lighting/editing choices are killer!
So I somehow fell into a GRC role and the points and concepts you have detailed in your video, I've been finding out the hard way. My original interest lies in a technical role Cybersecurity, but as I continue doing this role I'm learning to appreciate the value of GRC
This is the path I want for myself. Most of my career has been in compliance and regulatory, but mainly in pharma and medical device. but the concept and day-to-day is very similar! You touched on something very poignant: Getting buy-in from your internal customers is an uphill battle. I feel that the PCI DSS framework really hits home when trying to get Business Unit Owners to be receptive. The possibility of going bankrupt because one of the Big Three Card companies levy an insurmountable fine that you can't pay is a bigger risk than a few thousand dollars invested in having an internal auditor, vulnerability management team etc.
For all the new guys Gerry"s daily news is a MUST, as somebody that is coming from a non-it profession I want to say you will learn more from the show then any text book out there.
Hi Gerald. Really great video. Been watching your videos as I started a pathway of getting into Cyber Security. Did research on different domains. Technical and non-technical domains. I have a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Law and recently completed the Google Cyber Security certificate. Now looking to do the Compti Security+ 701. What a great video gave me some real clarity of to head off to from here. In a way where my next should be as I try to start my cyber security career. Appreciate in thank you. Also the video gave me ideas on how one would implement this from an insurance point of view. Thanks You again.
I was using my headphones to listen to you. I think You might have a setting in your video editing software that is editing the audio in such a way that only one earbud is outputting audio. I know that its not a problem on my end because I tested my earbuds multiple times with other videos and music and etc. and it works just fine. but when I play your video the audio is configured incorrectly. I thought I’d let you know so that your future videos won’t be created with this unintentional default configuration. Also I love your live streams! And I recently passed my comptia sec+ exam!
Congratulations on the cert!! 💥 Thx for heads up on audio. My earpiece was low too and I switched to a speaker and it was fine. 🤷♂️ but will keep it top of mind for future videos. Audio is critical!!! Thx for lmk
I have a question if I complete the GRC master class will I be able to find work as a GRC or not. I want to get into Cyber from my background in Multimedia development and Health and safety but I want to streamline my courses and time?
Do you think it's possible to become a GRC analyst with a BSc. in psychology? I know a good deal about computers and have a little programming experience, but none of that's formal.
Definitely. Might even have advantage since grc works with the business and the humans of the business. Knowing how they operate is an interesting benefit
My course is designed to give you practical skills an employer would want of a grc analyst. There aren’t any certs that map to that. If i had time I’d make one
there was something off how it rendered. it may have been mono only, so if you listen in stereo you can here it. regrettably the issue wasn't caught in production.

Hi Gerald I think your audio is set to right side and not center. And thank you for the content
Love this! i commented before I started out with your GRC class and now I've been doing it for a few years now, loved it!
Audio is only in one ear (right ear) hard to listen.
Sorry. Hearing this from few folks. Try a speaker? Or different. I rendered it wrong
@@SimplyCyberhe isn’t the only one. It’s only coming out one side. You may have to re-render this video stereo wise.

Do you need security clearance for a grc role
Only if you’re doing support of federal work that requires clearance. Most grc jobs don’t need it
