  • The weather was atrocious so as part of my series of videos on buying your first beach casting set up, I went into Tonys tackle in Eastbourne to ask the legend Tony Kirrage , why he was enthusing about the Penn Affinity III.
    I have to say , having played with one I did buy it, and will give it a good try out on the beach.
    This will feature in future videos.
    We also talk about The Black Rock TT8000, the Penn Rival and the Akios Airloop R10. all of which are very fine reels.
    we then looked at some economy reels (including line), which at around £30 , are real bargains, (but you do get what you pay for).
    Also details about a new tip for the Akios Fury, soon to be available, and news about the Tonys tackle Dream Cast III.
    Some exciting pre used ZZiplex Bullets that Tony has just aquired ( a real refurbishement investment opportunity - I have to admit I am tempted ) one of which was used by their previous owner to break the casting distance record.
    And finally and probably the most exciting Tony signed a copy of his new book for me.
    "Sea match Fishing The man himself Tony Kirrage"
    All in all a fact filled episode. I hope you enjoy.

    Superbly presented what a good video. Thanks i have memories of going in there when i was 16, Tony was at the heart of Sea Fishing in the 90s and knew all the prominent Anglers. Good to see his infectious enthusiasm decades later. Very hard to walk out of that shop without making a significant purchase too when he's around too .... Thanks for this Chris i will refer newcomers looking for a reel to it

    Tony, how important is to have a conic spool for longcasting, is that a trend or will really affect the distance. I see a conic spool on the sufblaster. will that make it specific for long distances ? great videos.

    • @SEAFISHINGwithCJ
      @SEAFISHINGwithCJ  11 месяцев назад

      A coned spool combined with a reel that has a slow oscillation, allows the line to peel off with very little friction in the cast, which helps with distance casting.
