I swear to god every time he smacks that snare sounds like he's about rip the skin....... FUCKING BADASS!!!!!!!! ive always said if Jane's addiction did meth instead of heroine they'd be Snapcase.
i remember snapcase was my first hardcore show when i was like 13 years old my dad brought me and my friend to buffalo from Syracuse to see these guys. my dad had no idea what he was in for and of course i diddent give him any sort of heads up. we got to the venue really early and somehow ended up waiting in the lobby while snapcase was doing sound check. after they got done with sound check the guys from snapcase came out and shot the shit with my friend and i in the lobby and were so cool to us. bands like this are awesome because of the people they are and are the reason why i will always love punk and hardcore music. its funny because i haven't had this memory pop into my head for a really long time.
Rad. Chris Wollard from HWM and I did s zine back in the day and we got Snapcases number from someone at Victory before they had anything out yet. We called and interviewed them and they were blown away they were doing a interview with nothing out yet. They were super nice. I wonder if they ever found out it was Wollard that did they’re first “interview”. I love hardcore.

Travelled from London, England to Paris on a ferry in 1999 JUST TO SEE THIS BAND. Crowd surfed for 99% of the gig. Met awesome French hardcore dudes. Best times of our lives.
that's really sad. the best message I feel that hardcore has changed me is thinking for yourself, not following a crowd, and belief in yourself. those kids are missing out haha
Always loved it when these guys came to town. My fav show was Snapcase opening for Strungout. That was one of those shows where it looked like you had jumped in a swimming pool with all your cloths on, so hype!
I’ll never forget seeing Snapcase the first time, in 1994 right after Lookinglasself was released. We didn’t know their music yet, but holy living shit did they tear it up. Unbelievable that it was 25 years ago now!
Awesome track, awesome band. Progression through Unlearning is a damn fine classic album. Heard this when I was a lad and it's stuck with me all these years haha.
Watching a video on dead wrestlers I noticed one during a royal rumble event wearing a snap case shirt in the ring! The memories came rushing in I Had to bring back the nostalgia
this song was the most inspirational song of my life in jr. high, "now that you belong to you, what will the others think? well soon they'll follow you and you'll see how they're all so weak", and as soon as I started doin my own thing everyone started biting shit

these are my favorite type of vocals. he's gotta just be yelling at the top of his lungs right? surely there's not a technique for being able to sound like that right?
One of my beat memories: 16yo, seeing Snapcase, Earth Crisis, Boysetsfire and H2O in one show
Baller!
lets not forget VOD and one king down.:)
Holy shit that sounds incredible
I saw same.show at Tremont Music Hall in Charlotte NC. We went skateboarding in Charlotte afterwards until cops chased us out of town 😂😂😂😂
🍆
God I love this band. One of the best shows of my life was in 1998 at La Luna in Portland, OR.
Deftones
Quicksand
Snapcase
😳
This is the sole reason why I wish time travel was invented: to see THAT lineup, especially Around The Fur-era Deftones
Wow. What an incredible lineup
That's a lineup right there. Great venue, too. Though it's gone now 🍻
i saw that tour except I was in Atlanta and it was pitchshifter instead of snapcase.
So many bands owe their sound to these guys, Knocked Loose, The Warriors, and on and on and on. Godfathers right here.
Incendiary claims snapcase as one of their biggest influences as well
Turnstile too
Classic snare drum sound, wish people made music like this these days......
+lowboy1one1 yes best snare ever
I swear to god every time he smacks that snare sounds like he's about rip the skin....... FUCKING BADASS!!!!!!!! ive always said if Jane's addiction did meth instead of heroine they'd be Snapcase.
Helmet’s John Stanier has that bad ass snare sound also
Check out Turnstile. Sounds very close to this.
piccolo snare drum

Saw them at a festival in Italy in 2000. I was 18. They blew me away - been a fan ever since
Love the sound that the snare makes. Love the guitar riff. Love the lyrics. Love the on-stage energy. Miss that era in music !
Check out Helmet, John Stanier had is snare fully cranked

This song is a personal mantra, in addiction recovery. If you apply the lyrics to that, they work so well.
From the 90s... still listen to this track and will forever too.
This covid isolation makes me miss the old good days of true hardcore music
Don’t worry my friend, things will get better. Hang in there
It was exactly like this at Furnace Fest. So refreshing
I’ve seen them more times than I can count in the 90s in high school.
Legendary song!!!
Punk Rock MBA brought me here. No regrets.
same, idk how I've never heard of them, they're fucking sick
Same
Same. I can see why Finn loves the snare so much, it sounds great
saw you guys play with quicksand and Deftones in 99! amazing then and now!
This song randomly pops in my head 20 years later lol
Covered this song with my band a couple of months ago...Kids had no idea what the hell we were playing. It was a bummer.

Have any video or a recording of it? I'd love to hear it, man!

i love his snare drum too! its cuts through so well on this whole album. not a lot of drummers use snares that high. i think it is great though

I don’t care what anyone says, PTU is the greatest hardcore album of all time
This was filmed at the metro in Chicago with them opening up for SOIA. And AFI opening up for Snapcase.
I love when such a simple riff can be so fucking intense.
Saw them 22 yrs ago at showplace in Buffalo, my first hardcore show
AHHHHHHHH Never got to see them back in the day but was so into them, just bought a ticket to see them in a few months so stoked!!!!!

I played this song at my high schools band night with my band, back in 96. Wish I could remember how to play it...
That's quite an achievement considering it was released in 97.
Long time ago so maybe my memory was off. All I remember is it was while I was I high school. Graduated 97 so I guessed. My bad
lol don't sweat it :) hope you did it justice!
They were playing it live, like a lot, way before it was officially released. I feel like there must have been some bootlegs too.
This is at the Metro in Chicago. I was there. I cant find any of their chicago shows listed on their tour history page.
Who the hell are the people who gave this a thumbs down and how do we ensure they don’t breed?
They don’t need help for that
Kill them with fire before they lay eggs.
I don't usually like hardcore music but this song is an exception
