WARNING! LONG SAPPY COMMENTS TO FOLLOW: Gayle Agostinelli, I don't know if I can finish this comment without taking lots of time out to wash away tears (and all the loveliness that comes with (ha)) THIS IS ABSOLUTELY THE MOST REMARKABLE JOURNAL/COOKBOOK ANYONE COULD EVER HOPE TO HAVE!! I have purposely not watched this video until I received my cookbook. Believe me, it was truly hard to wait. Thank you so much for getting it out to me so soon. All the comments below from all your many admirers just puts the AMEN on how much they and of course I love this journal. I truly wish everyone could have one too. From the very first moment I opened it, I was in love. Sort of like getting a puppy but none of the work or worries. Gayle, the beautiful feed sack fabrics and 50's vibe paper line are all just too, too cute. BUT, it is YOUR boundless and amazing artistic ideas and flair that make it such a magnificent treasure. I am SO THRILLED and HAPPY I jumped in and treated myself to one of your Journaling Miracles. Each little vintage cookbook, feed sack pocket, flip, tucks, (LOVE THE COLES BEST PAPER SACK), handwritten and typed recipes (how cool is that?) and OH MY GOODNESS THOSE WATERFALL PAGES, GENIUS!! I have opened that faux envelope already five times (ha); just adorable. You captured everything I wanted in this cookbook from the red gingham to the crazy, smiling, off their rocker 50's ladies. I think they must have all been on lots of Prozac (ha) I will use this book to keep my mothers recipes, and recipes of so many of my beloved family. I have pictures of my grandkids cooking in the kitchen and they will be tucked in here as well. Gayle, I am grateful for all the love and talent you have poured into this journal. I Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Oh, Donna, you are so very welcome! It was a labor of love for sure, my friend! Thank you for your heartfelt comment! I'm grateful to have your friendship in my life! Big giant grateful hugs! 😘❤️
So much fun and so familiar . My Aunt gave me a set of ceramic ducky years ago that she had gotten with green or yellow stamps . I treasure them and keep them safe from being broken . They are over 50 yrs old !
Oh Gayle, this turned out just wonderful!! I'm sure there are at least 100 ladies out there who would have bought this from you! I have a 1953 reprint version of this binder cookbook that I'm going to use to make one of these. Thanks for all the great ideas for what to put in mine!
I have owned one for 46 years, and I also bought one at a yard sale a bit ago ... I am going to make a journal. This gives me lots of inspiration too....Yours is the same age as I am! LOL
Went to 2 estate sales today and found 2 old cookbooks , and I was wondering if you ever made a journal from a cookbook, and here was one. Very nicely done and so creative love it !!!)
Tan into this video tonight, what fun to see what you put together. I like your idea to add blank paper into the middle of smaller, thinner booklets! I will be doing that myself.
Love it! So many wonderful ideas, Gayle! And I've just remembered an old recipe/bazaar book from the eighties I've got gathering dust that I could re-invent with those fab ideas. So much fun! 🥳
OMGOSH I need to take a breath and wipe the drool off my chin. Gayle your journal is fabulous, it totally brings me back to my childhood. I remember my grandma using this cookbook along with the many others that you included in this beauty. She had so many snippets from newspaper articles to the backs of food packaging that it would be bulging from the seems. The Authentique paper you chose is so perfect, I love the little sayings on the journaling cards, my favorite being “I don’t know what it is but I know it’s dinner”. ROTFLMBO That was usually every Wednesday night before Thursday’s shopping day at grandma’s. Thanks for bringing back those lovely memories my friend. Giant hugs, Candi
I have inherited 3 vintage cookbooks. 1 is in sad condition. I was so inspired by your video to go ahead and make a heritage recipe journal with it. I purchased a few of your printables also. I also have some of my great grandmothers to my mothers crochet and always wondered what to do with it, now I do, scan it and put it in the book. I think I am going to scan or photo all the collectibles too Thanks
Beautiful book Gayle . I have the tablecloth you are using under the book to display it. So beautiful....I have several that were my Mothers and I treasure them .
I LOVE IT! I've been working on a cookbook out of an old cookbook for awhile now and was kind of stuck. Thank you for sharing. This has given me new ideas.
Sure your friend will be so happy with this ! I could spend hours just looking through it and discovering all those wonderful things. thanks for showing this.
I’m so glad I found your channel! My family recipes are so old that some are crumbling, and the ones my mother wrote in pencil are fading so I decided to look for ideas to create a recipe journal. I love this journal, it’s beautiful!
Another fantastic JJ, Gayle! If Donna decides she doesn't want it (yeaaa, rIIIIIIght), then I'd like to buy it. I love all the original, not scanned, ephrmera you put in her Cookbook!
This is the first video of yours I have watched. I love the journal. What gorgeous pages and little vintage books etc. You have reminded me of all my mums recipe books and folders I have. I never look at them because I am a vegan and don't eat that type of food, but some of it would make awesome vintage ephemera. There are loads of 1960's magazine cut out recipes and adverts galore. I must leaf through it all. I am sure your friend will love it.
I have enjoyed watching you make things for this book. I have the same cookbook. It belonged to my grandmother and it is how I learned to cook from scratch. It is starting to look a little weathered and you have given me some ideas on how to repair it.
Thanks for sharing . I have bought several 5 ring binders at tag sales and goodwill . I have been wanting to try to make a journal. You gave me wonderful inspiration . I'm sure your friend will love it, I sure did.
I just love this journal. I have an old handwritten book with 1940 on the cover that my Mom used as a recipe book. I plan to use it in a journal honoring her. Thanks for all the good ideas.
This is so fabulous, I found one of these books at a garage sale it’s a little different but love it and can’t wait to make one of these amazing books out of it..I also found a garden one I’m so excited to get to them ,,urs turned out soooo amazing ❤️❤️❤️
Love you cookbook Gayle. The 50s is my favorite decade. I graduated from college in 1967 with a degree in home economics. I want to make an altered cooking and Seeing book.
Hi Renee! I was just in Great Falls last Tuesday hitting the antique stores! Boy, it was raining hard in the canyon between Helena and Great Falls! Thanks for letting me know you are close! ❤️

This is such a great idea! I love it. I've always enjoyed reading adverts, etc., from the past! Also, my Mom used this cookbook religiously when I was growing up! I was also given one as a wedding gift, which I still have! Thanks for sharing this!
I have to admit when I saw 'Hold for Donna' I got pretty excited for a few seconds until I realized it wasn't me! The other Donna is going to adore this. It is Awesome!
This has to be my favorite journal you've ever done! It is so nostalgic for me. Looks like all the pieces my grandmother collects. She gave some to me and now I'm inspired to do my own cookbook! Thank you!
This is a really fun book!! Love how you have altered it with so many fun vintage little booklets!! What an inspiration for that friend who loves cookbooks!! Really fun to watch the walk through!! Thank you for the video- very inspiring!!
Love it, Gayle! 💖 Tfs! I'm making a mini album type of cookbook for a coworker who is retiring. I'm using Country Kitchen, but yours is way cool with all the authentic vintage papers. I wish I had more time to prepare for it and had shopped my vintage stores for items like that! Your friend will love it! 💖
Love this Gayle... working on some kits for one of these books. Not as old as yours..but seeing how you did this one helps me gather some cool elements...thanks!! xxRenee
Wow, Gayle, this brought some memories back I remember the ration book in early 60,s and recognise some of those pictures. Just gave my daughter cookbook from 60,s Homepride with the flour shaker man on front thank you for sharing x
Wow, this is amazing and beautiful! What a wonderful and fun book. I am curious how you punched the holes for that book, just with a single hole punch?
GOOD EVENING, GAYLE! I've found a treasure trove of enjoyment, thanks to you. In addition, I wanted to give you another thrifty find for journals: those 'free' wall calendars from the Chinese restaurant! The calendars have one blank side and one decorative side and the minute slats stay together or you could add more stitches to strengthen them. I hope that you'll give this a try. And BTW, your techniques bring funshine and positivity----right when your signature creation, of 'Stay calm----and Angel on' smiles AT ME!
gelica : I am working through a long list of custom orders, but will no doubt do another one of these books at some point. Thanks for watching and for your interest! ❤️
