- Hey everyone! I have been wanting to make one of these for years and I finally got around to doing it. I am so very happy with how it turned out, I can't believe how beautiful it is.
I used a variety of OLD papers from my stash, which included Cosmo Cricket and Farmhouse Paper Co, just to name a few. I also added newer collections from Country Craft Creations and Your Creative Studio. I will put links to those below. I hope you enjoy this walk through and it gives you ideas for making one of your own.
And just FYI, I have this actual cookbook in my recipe collection, and have made several of the recipes, and it's fabulous!

@@vickiweeks9076 I love that, thank you! Have fun making yours!!!❤️
New subscriber here!🎉Enjoyed your flip through ❤
🤗 welcome! Thank you so much! I have another cookbook I need to alter. I can’t wait to do it. So many crafts so little time.
Magnifique!!! I love your recipe junk journal! Please could you tell us where you bought the utensils paper clips? Thank you!
Thank you for watching💕I’m sorry, I don’t remember. I’ve had those in my stash for a very long time.
Thank you again! :)@@michelleallenacreativeoper6112
I absolutely love this!!! Was it for sale or can I order one just like it?
This one was for me. I’m sorry, but it isn’t for sale. I do appreciate you watching!
I love this junk journal..how did you make the cupcake paperclip covers?
Thanks so much! For the paperclips I used two different sizes of cupcake liners, folded in half to flat then inked a little. On the larger one place two small clips, then glued the smaller liner over the clip. Then I embellished as I wanted. I hope that makes sense and helps you. Have fun making one of these beauties, it’s so much fun to do!
@@michelleallenacreativeoper6112 genius…I love just watching you flip through it
Thanks so much🥰🥰🥰
So FUN and how unique! Fun fact: Did you know Betty Crocker was invented by the Washburn-Crosby Company, now known as General Mills. 😉
Really? I didn’t know that! I guess I have to do a bit of reading now! Thanks for watching!
So cool! I love learning fun little facts like that!! I love her journal too!!💘
Thanks, Michelle!
That's pretty awesome I've been trying to find a old Betty crocker cookbook. Haven't had any luck. I've got recipe that some of my subscribers sent to me and I want to make a junk journal. tfs
Thank you so much for watching!
Ohh my goodness!!! I luv this sooo much!!! And I don't blame you ...I couldn't part with this either!!! My cousin and I both make recipe albums from scratch, only using 3 O rings ...but I so luv this project using the old cookbooks! Yours is just perfect! And to Goodwill I'm going! I have a lot of extra pages from cooking collections and you dear lady have inspired me a bunch! Thank you so much! Hugs, Suzy Q
Good luck on your hunt. These are so hard to find! I know you will love it when you get it all done. ❤️
This is absolutely wonderful and full of inspiration. I had to keep stopping the video so I could write down some ideas. Thank you so much for sharing this fantastic junk journal. I love it and can fully appreciate that you want to keep it. I am currently playing with a Better Homes and Gardens vintage cookbook. However, I shall be visiting the USA in September, whizzing into my favourite thrift store and going to look for a Betty Crocker cookbook. Yippee!
Oh my goodness, thank you so much for the sweet comments. I really appreciate it. I hope have a wonderful time in the US and find that book!!
This is so neat, Michelle! Just now seeing it. I love how the mix of different vintage papers all works together. I'm currently on the lookout for a Betty Crocker book, so I hope to make my own version. TFS!
Thank you! I hope you find one. They are hard to come by, but such a treasure!
where did you find a 5 hole Hole Punch?!?!
I didn’t. I just used a single hole punch and one of the pages as a template.
Thank you, Michelle@@michelleallenacreativeoper6112
This so cool 😎, I have a similar book that could use an update. I have What’s Cooking Paper too.
It was really fun to make. I am definitely adding to it later but right now I couldn’t be happier!
I absolutely love this Michelle! I am just recently getting into journals and planners. Love the vintage "bits and bobs" that I have seen all over the internet. I have my mother's Betty Crocker's Cookie Book, Copyright 1963. I love it as the pages are stained from oils, and other baking ingredients over the years! Not to mention handwritten recipes that were tucked in here and there. Thanks for sharing-
I'm really glad you liked it! I had so much fun with this book. I was able to make something I have wanted to do for a long time and use up a lot of the things I have collected over many years. I know this will become one of my favorites! Thanks so much for watching and for your support!
Amazing ideas. It turned out incredible. Thanks for the awesome video.
Thank you so much!😊
Love this❤ I'm a BC cookbook collector;) thanks for sharing!
❤️❤️❤️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️❤️
I love this, I have recipes from my mom and grandma, I am 63. This will be perfect ❤
Awesome! I’m so glad you like it. I loved it so much I doubt two other books to make. They’re addictive!
I love your cookbook journal! I have been wanting to make one for myself and you gave me some great ideas.
That’s great!!! I love that for you!
Love this ! Did you do a tutorial on this?
Hi, thank you🤗I did not do a tutorial. I just did this share.
@@michelleallenacreativeoper6112 Super cute ! 😍
Thank you so much!
Oh Michelle!!!!!! This has to be in my top 3 of yours!!! I think your enthusiasm is the main ingredient!!!! I'm extstatic that you've gotten to do something you've wanted for yourself for so long. I know how you are with your cooking/baking passion. I'm gathering ideas for an upcoming huge project; 3 identical cookbooks with family recipes from living members on all sides for 3 of my grandchildren. This video is for sure going into that folder to save and reference. I'm excited yet dreading it. Only dreading because it will be filled with my love and passion for papercrafting, so they will all 3 be done to the best standards, which may take me forever. I dont want to be on a project for as long as I believe it will take. I love going from thing to thing. Make sense?? (As you say, lol).
Did you catch the title on the page right behind your watermelon sticker page? I will have to add that, too. Also, do you remember where the adorable knife, fork, and spoon paper clips came from? How neat are those?? Do you have a video on coffee dyeing? I know theres some on youtube, and Sally made one, but you're my fav, I know and understand your tutorials so well. I thank you sooo much again for just being you and sharing with the world. God bless ♡♡
HI! I am so excited that you are so excited about this project! I absolutely love it and am so glad you do too. I just love these vintage books, reading them is so much fun for sure. I think, and please don't quote me, I got those clips a long time ago at JoAnn's. I really don't remember and unfortunately I don't have the package anymore. I do have a favorite video I found on coffee dying paper, it is here....ruclips.net/video/X2looabDugE/видео.html I have used this method many times and love the results, and it is faster!
Thank you !!
I love this Michelle! I have my moms old Betty Crocker Cookbook. I want to make this for my Shelby and incorporate some of my mother in laws recipes (aka Farm Grandma Shelby called her & Cookie grandma my granddaughter called her) My granddaughter was here one day and our town smells sweet from the baking place that makes waffle cones and she said to my husband "Cookie grandma must be making cookies in heaven cause it smells like cookies out" Shelby appreciates things that incorporate her grandmas and me!
Thank you so much and that's a lovely story!! I want to fill this one with family recipes. I would love to get my family to write them in their own hand...I may just start sending this to the family to do this for me. I'm so glad you stopped by, thank you so much for your support!
@@michelleallenacreativeoper6112 Shelby just said to me the other day mom I need your scallop potato recipe I said there really isn't one, she said Mom I need it in your handwriting! I get it now🥰
@@sharonsailer4084 YES! I wish I had some from my both of my grandma's collection in their hand. They are lost forever, but if I start now, my grandkids will have some of mine, my mom's, etc.
I just put all my recipe, cooking papers from my stash...7 different ones!
Love this so much! Now I know what to do with my Betty Crocker book! Sandy
Awesome! I’m glad it inspired you!

Thank you so much for watching! I hope you have as much fun making it as I did. 😎
Very nice!❤️
Thank you! 😊
Lovely 👍
Thank you so much 😊
It's so great! And I love how excited you are! TFS
I am! I’ve wanted to make one for such a long time!
This is wonderful. What did you do w all the recipe pages??
I kept them for now. I think that I will use them in other projects or to add to this project as I work in it. I have another one of these recipe books in my collection, so I'm not losing the recipes...I have another "non-junk journal" book. :)
What do you mean by hidden paper clips? I love the album, so neat.
I folded the first cupcake liner in half. Then I put the paper clip in the middle of the cupcake liner then I adhered the pink cupcake liner over top of that what that does is it puts the paper clip in between the two cupcake liners then you just slip the white cupcake liner over the page the paper clip is in between so essentially it is hidden between the two.
What a smart idea. I loved the cupcake liners added to the pages.
Thank you!
Love this! You have inspired me to do this with my BC cookbook!
You should!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Michelle, this is great! What a fabulous idea!!
Thanks! I can’t take credit for the idea but I loved putting my spin on it!
Love this!!
Thank you!
