I love these, especially the second one. I have some doilies my mom made and now I know exactly how to use them and her recipes! Thank you for the inspiration. I do have a question - how do you cover the inside with the metal binder in place? Maybe it should be obvious to me but I'm afraid to remove the binder to do that part.
You are direct and don’t over do the talky stuff. Love your style.
I just adore this! The vintage fabric that belonged to your grandmothers and great-grandmother, the fold-out signatures, that you include some of your children's handwritten recipes -- everything! Inspiring as I hope to make a recipe binder for myself this summer!
❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
I love this! I've been watching Christmas Ring Binder videos but now I want to do a recipe one. Are your pages mostly paper or cardstock? My album is so stiff because I primarily have cardstock. Most paper pads are cardstock. I haven't really looked for paper of various themes yet. Do you have any recommendations?
I do a blend because some of my binder journals become what I call “exploding journals”😂with lots of ephemera so I try to add some old recipe book pages, ledger and such. Thinner papers that allow me to still add lots of pages. I hope you are having an awesome day. Happy crafting!
❤
Love your Mom and Dad's cookbook Angela. Fun to add family recipes and to be able to use your Grandmother's and Great Grandmother's fabrics. Also thanks for sharing the primer spray idea for the shiny covers, I have some in my paint stash and will use on my shiny books.
Your cousin will love her book! My cookbook goal is one for each of my 4 grandkids.
Happy Crafting
Oh Denise they will love them!
I loved this video. I am going to be making a recipe journal of my mother's recipes that I can hand down to my son. This gave me some great ideas. Hope to see more videos like this one. Thanks for sharing.
That is a wonderful ide@!
Hello what size of binder did you use thanks 😊
Mine are all about 9x10.
I know I'm late to the party, but I've just stumbled on this altered cookbook. I adore this - it is delightful and so full of ideas. Thank you for sharing this wonderful altered book.
Wow!! Loved your creations!! I think the binders are great for junk journals. Thanks for sharing.❤❤❤❤❤👍🏻👍🏻
Soo very sweet Angela to have made something soo sentimental for them . Im sure they loved it and you can tell how much love you put into it .❤
Oh MAN, This was GREAT. If only your brain could visit my brain for a bit. However you thought this cookbook/journal up…it’s magical.
You crack me up! I’m glad you like it and thanks for watching! Happy crafting
I'm here because I'm making cookbooks for my sister from my mothers and grandmother's recipes. I need ideas.
I have a very old cookbook but there's no way I could add the fragile pages to a book. So, I'm just going to scan and reprint.
That is always an option and if you want to gift the originals just package them up separately so your sister can have them. I’m so glad you are here. Have a lovely day!
Fun! I enjoyed the Flip-through! It makes it extra special to have family recipes, too.
You took me up on that dare.😜
Look forward to seeing your next one.😊💕
Thanks friend. Actually, I haven’t taken the plunge on your challenge. I have to pick a BHG cookbook but I promise I will! I loved yours and your video.
@@TheTravelingCrafter You are a very busy lady! I don't know how you do it all!
I am sure whenever you make one it will be amazing!
Blessings!
If I don’t find time I wouldn’t have my joy and as I always say. We have to take care of ourselves and our passions so we can do all the other things and be the best we can be for those we love. And…I’m just chicken to ruin those beautiful vintage cookbooks. I know silly isn’t it?
@@TheTravelingCrafter Yes, we need to make time! So true!😁💕
what books did you use for these journals?
These were both binder cookbooks I picked up at the thrift shop. I also have good luck finding small binders in the office section of my local thrift stores that work great as well.
