I love your videos! I am a 75 year old newbie to art journaling. I have watched your show for the last few weeks and it has been such a delight. Thank you for sharing your story and life with us. Being sequestered in Georgia gives me a lot of time to craft and pray. Don't change a single thing in your presentation, I love it and your community.
We do the same with our packages!!!!! Can't be too careful, as of today, the are saying it's going to get MUCH WORSE over the next two weeks to a month!!!!! I am the perfect candidate for the virus having at least 5 of the list of things to be wary of....so, we are!!!! Well, now let's talk about more pleasant things, Nancy!!! I have so many many old cook books that I am so eager to start one. And I think, among them is at least one three ring binder...will have to check!!!! It's funny, I really can't cook much anymore, but I still love to look at cookbooks and in fact I have one waiting to be opened after the 24 hours are up, lol!!!! How silly is that!!!! So, anyway, watching you embellish this adorable cookbook journal is giving me loads of ideas and inspiration.....because, that's one of Gayles charm....she inspires and never runs out of ideas!!!! Oh, and I dearly LOVE that vintage fabric!!! Hugs my cutie-pie friend.
Love this idea. I am working my way through all your video's Gayle. I haven't found one yet where I didn't smile, laugh and also learn something wonderful. Thank-you so much Gayle!!!
I think, besides the Cinch series of videos, this is my favorite one because you can watch Gayle’s videos for sheer enjoyment or you can really study the Master for her fabulous design techniques. This is one of those videos, plus this uses lots of scrapbook materials which I am trying to incorporate into my journal making! Thanks Master!!
Hi Gayle I’m back and looking forward to a chat , all in lockdown here in Australia 🇦🇺 even our state of Queensland border is in lockdown such scary times I’m so glad I have you to listen to thanks so much 🎨🌎😘
This is such a cure retro cookbook journal. I love it. But -- am I missing something? No inking, say it isn’t so. Just look at you, so decisive and whizzing right through this journal. This is a different side of you I haven’t seen. Beautiful job. Because I don’t have a platform and you are so generous, may I be so bold to say a giant THANK YOU to all of our crafting sisters who have generously made much needed masks for our medical community during this virus disaster. Think you Gayle for all you do. Barb Pacific NW
I absolutely love the cookbook. What a neat project. I have my mothers cookbooks from the 40’s that I would love to use however I also don’t want to tear it apart, crafting dilemmas, lol
Good Morning Gayle, fun to craft along with you and listen to you chat. I am not working on a 'food' related journal. Rather, I am working on a Wine journal. LOL Hugs!
It amazes me how you find journaling ideas even in a cook book. I have my own done in a composition book but I like your ideas for the future. Thank you so much for your continued ideas to help us all. You are also special to me because you sound like and laugh like my sister in law Lennette. You are delightful!
This is different from what you usually do, Gayle. Love how you have a consistent pattern throughout. I'm always amazed by your stash. You even have food/kitchen related fabric! Tyfs.
I’ve had very generous subbies over the years who have gifted me every treasure imaginable! Yes, this one is so different...but I love to mix it up. No boredom setting in here!! ❤️
Thanks for your reply yesterday. Found and watched snippet tutorial. Love this idea. Also...just love those adorable fabrics on this one. Just so kitch and cute...
Good morning Gayle and everyone who is watching. Want to wish everyone good health. This journal I am really liking. Got an old cookbook at our antique mall with ring binder. Now I know what to do with it. Hugs ❤❤😘
hi and healthy hugs Gayle ;-) i've done click & ship with the post office and it works great. i use the flat rate boxes, print the label and schedule a pick up from my mail carrier. all done without having to leave the house. you can order lots of shipping supplies (many are FREE) from the post office with free shipping. i have a good stash of all size flat rate boxes at the ready. Staples has free shipping right now, i just got a huge double roll/dispenser of packing tape from them (under $7) wishing a speedy 'get well' to Mr Bucky, happy to hear about your daughter and her restaurant-you should be proud of her! she is a real trooper to be so considerate of her employees. i think you made all our mouths water as you flipped thru the recipes!! pound cake for bread! frosted carrot drops! yes PLEASE!! take good care of you and your boys my friend, big hugs xo
This video just popped up in my feed. I remember during that horrible time, I would order groceries online and when they got here I would put my gloves on, take them to my garage and spray with disinfectant then wipe down. Crazy times those were!
This is one of my favorite kind of journal. I really need one to put in my mother and grandmothers old recipes. They are kind of scattered right now. Then I could put In my recipes for my granddaughter or one of the grandsons. Love these ever since the first time I watched one of your videos on three-ring binders. Thanks for the ideas and inspiration. Take care.😘😘
I'm so glad I'm getting to watch you work on this. I found two red and white cookbooks at thrift stores that I want to get to, and I'm getting some tips from watching you.
I am so sorry as I spelled your name wrong yesterday or today. Thanks you for all of your inspiration and all of the giggles. It really helps especially when you live alone and your kids have you on lockdown. I am trying to be very good. I know I am high risk as you are too Gayle. Still watching my great granddaughter, Caraline when my granddaughter works. My granddaughter also does my grocery shopping and picks up my prescriptions. I worry about her as she works at a pharmacy. Higs💝💝💝
I love this cookbook journal, brings back memories of a sweeter time! I was going to send you some retro fabric flips for it but I see you have some already. Enjoy the project. Have a lovely a Sunday! 🥚🧈🥖🌼😊🌼
Beautiful journal! I’ll have to go and check out that kitchen digital kit! Can’t believe I missed it. I just finished a cookbook for one of my son’s last year and those would have been great to add! I love how you incorporated the stickers! And that fabric is awesome!
Love this cookbook journal so much!! Just finished my first small 3 ring binder Guest/Memory wedding book for my daughter. I'm so pleased how it turned out and can't wait to FaceTime with her when she opens it!!! 💜
This is adorable! I love those fabrics! I have seen some cookbooks and gardening binders similar to what you are sprucing up...it never occurred to me. When things get back to normal, I am going to pick up a couple and remake them into something grand. Thank you Gayle!
@@gayleagostinelli_ct You're very welcome. I really enjoy watching what you do and listening to you. I'm only just starting with journaling so I need to build up my stash. There are so many different projects out there and so much to learn. Love it.😊
My DIL has done Pilate's several years now. Her club is closed. I will send her Andii's info. I so enjoy watching your process on this binder cookbook and all your cute ephemera. Stay safe Gayle.
Love this book! You've done some really cute things with it. Thanks for sharing! I'm hoping since you didn't mention heartburn, that this is after the rough night and you're feeling better. That's my hope anyway.
I recently finished a cookbook/journal that I made from an old 1940ish Better Homes and Gardens cookbook! The pages were too brittle to leave in the binder, but I used as much of the original cookbook as I could. I used a vintage cookbook digital from Vectoria Designs, but I love that Artymaze digital too! I have another BH&G cookbook that I'm going to repurpose...I may have to get that Artymaze! 😊
Love this cook book journal. What a super great idea. My BFF would just love one of these. Her birthday is next month maybe I have the ingredients to make one I could make a kit for her to make one. Hmmmmm going to have to think this one over. You know I have plenty of time to think. 😂. I can’t believe Bucky is lifting hisself up on items already. Wasn’t it yesterday that he was born?
Yum! I want that journal just for those recipe cards you stuck in it, lol. May I make a suggestion for a light ? A small LED work light from the hardware store might help, the only problem is the one I got I have to clamp above the desk, but I have a shelf to clamp it to and you don’t. Maybe Mike could rig something like that up for you. It might work to clamp it to your camera arm, but not sure if it would pull the arm down. My light is only about 6 or 7 inches square but boy it puts out some light! I understand if that might not work for you though. Just an idea. 🤗
I just talked amongst myself, all by myself. I talked about how I was watching Gayle make a cookbook and I have no interest in cooking, in fact I hate cooking, but I always said I would watch Gayle read the phone book so here I am. 🤪
Hi Sammi, your right about USPS/click and ship. I did it about a week ago and it was easy peasy! Printed the label-attached to the box, schedule pick up for next day and watched tracking as it traveled on it's way. I did use a flat rate shipping box which made it very simple. Did you know you can order flat rate boxes, envelopes, and many other postal supplies thru their website-many supplies are FREE with FREE shipping! Luv it ;-)
I had that plexiglass box with photo recipe cards when I was a teenager learning to cook. One time I put an unfamiliar-looking dish on the table for dinner, and my little brother said grace, “Lord protect us from the food we are about to receive.”
You don’t have to go to the post office. Use USPS on line and print your own label. Costs less as well. Mailman will pick them up from your mailbox. Hope you try it! How’s the heartburn?
I found this cookbook binder on Ebay; I received it the other day. So excited to work on this with you! I don't have Saucy but found some cooking themed paper at Hobby Lobby so am going to use that. Gayle have you tried Walmart brand of sparkling water? It’s called clear American. They have some good flavors.

The fabrics came in happy mail. 😁❤️
I wonder if you could hang a fluorescent light (or something that works for you) in your craft space?
How would you do a cover for a plastic ring binder? Please help me. Thank you for your valuable teachings . Love your chatting about life things! Cindy
I’ve not done a plastic three ring binder, but you could collage the cover or cover with pretty papers even fabric. ❤️

I’ve had the scrapbook paper pack for several years, so I don’t remember exactly. But either in my local craft store or on Etsy.
