    I like that you showed us on the DMX controller what the sliders and buttons do and what they correspond to in programming. This really helps me understand how to program. Now I need to connect some lights to my DMX controller and see it for myself. Thank you for your explanation.

    As many others have already said “Thank You!” for making such a great tutorial! I have this exact board and this is now my go to refreshing my understanding of this controller. I really love this video. I was ready to give up on that thing, but you give me hope and I think I will get it one day. I have a small stage, please give me an advice. Do you think 2 Inno Pocket Scan, 2 Pocket Roll, 2 Pocket Spot, 1 Chauvet DJ Rotosphere Q3 Effect Light and 1 Black lightADJ ECO UV Bar DMX Effect light would be good and what kind of DMX Controller you think I should get? Well, by the way, I like yours, it seems simple. Thank's again for the video. Very helpful

    • @DJGhez
      @DJGhez  5 лет назад +1

      Hey man. With that variety of lights and no par cans or floods, I'd say you definitely want to use a controller that runs scenes and chases more so that you moving channels or dimmers. I would get a controller with 8 channel sliders and set your pocket spot and rotosphere to run in 9 channel mode. The pocket scan and roll will only run in 6 channel mode. Honestly not being biased but I would recommend you get a controller just like mine for your application. Here's a link - www.pssl.com/American-DJ-DMXOPERATOR-Automated-Light-Controller

    Very informative THANKS. Still a bit insecure how to save Scenes…. I got the impression that You could save all channels ( like a screenshot) in scene 1. But then I understood you fx have to save the values of one fixture at a time in scene 1 ?

    • @DJGhez
      @DJGhez  5 месяцев назад

      It is a screenshot. Select the fixture, move the channels to do what you want, then deselect the fixture. While in Program mode the fixture will stay on whatever you had it do. Then repeat with the other lights. When all of them are how you want it save the scene.

    Hi thank you so much for this information. I have been trying for days to get just basic information on programming our elation stage setter 24 dmx controller. The man that programmed it originally did not do it correctly and we would like to fix that. Basically we have 8 par can lights and 4 wash bar lights. Currently he has the fader programmed where 1 is red on lights 1 & 2 and fader 2 i is green on lights 1 & 2 fader 3 is blue and then fader 4 is red for lights 3&4 and so on. I know this isnt the way its intended but i cannont find any information to program it correctly. Is it possible that we can assign each light a fixture number and then each fader adjust a channel of the light, for instance light has 7 channels. Can each fader adjust a channel and you choose each light by choosing the fixture. Thank you for any information you can share.

    • @DJGhez
      @DJGhez  3 года назад

      Are the channels the same for all lights? Do you want all the lights to show the same color at the same time?

    (This information teaching video was very and really good helping me. ). Can I use a DMX App for my phone to wirelessly to control the head moving light? I’m I don’t have a controller board but I heard there’s DMX 512 Software.. but I’m curious if I can use a DMX app to 1 DMX M512 100 Watt U King Head moving light. I don’t want to buy a light controller board. So I’m thinking of trying a few apps for the U-king 100 Watt RGBW Head Moving Light.

    • @SierraTango71
      @SierraTango71 4 года назад +1

      yes you can, BUT unless you purchase High QUALITY semi expensive software and the interface controller, it is unreliable. do yourself a favor and just buy a dedicated dmx controller as they are going to be cheaper then the software/interface combo. If you dont care about glitches, you can try some of the cheaper made stuff but you will need to purchase at lease an interface.

    Very clearly explained! Cudos mate! Though I it wasnt 100% clear to me how you actually insert each scene into a sequential order when creating a chase seq. I imagine you press prog-chase to be in program chase mode, then click on each scene button of a particular bank - and it automatically inserts that scene in the order you press scenes. Please correct me if thats not correct.Also, whilst selecting each scene, how do I control the brightness level of each scene (ie sc1 bnk1) as I program scene into a chase. Cheers

    • @DJGhez
      @DJGhez  Год назад +1

      Your adding scenes to a chase so the order you add scenes is the order they go in. In program mode, you click the chase you want to add scenes, then go to the scene using scene and bank buttons, and click the button to add the scene. Forgot the button name but it's in the manual. Scene brightness is set by the fixture, not the scene itself

    • @ademjaffers1035
      @ademjaffers1035 Год назад

      @@DJGhez gotcha. Thanks. So to be clear, i select/hold the add button (like I would creating the scene in first place) and click scene button.
      And with brightness of scene that should be set when creating the scene and not controlled when adding
      Scene to chase, or whilst playing chase seq?

    Good afternoon. I am a husband who is running a light board for a community theater. I am not a lighting designer!
    The theater just installed new ADJ lights: Specifically four ADJ PAR Z120 RGBW units. The setup on the board is as follows:
    - Light 1 -> Assigned to Fixture 1 (channel 8, address 1) -> Faders 1-4 on the operator board are RGBW.
    - Light 2 -> Assigned to Figure 2 (channel 8, address 17) -> Faders 1-4 on the operator board are RGBW
    - Light 3 -> Assigned to Figure 3 (channel 8, address 33) -> Faders 1-4 on the operator board are RGBW
    - Light 4 -> Assigned to Figure 4 (channel 8, address 49) -> Faders 1-4 on the operator board are RGBW
    You can see the problem with this setup. While I have individual lighting control as individual fixtures, I cannot have Red on light 1/figure 1 and Green on light 2/figure 2 as sliders 1-4 on channel selection A on the DMX operator board have the same assignments.
    I would like to setup the DMX board to have the following setup:
    - Light 1 -> Assigned to Fixture 1 (channel 8, address 1) -> Faders 1-4 on the DMX Operator Board (Page Select A) on the operator board are RGBW.
    - Light 2 -> Assigned to Figure 2 (channel 8, address 17) -> Faders 5-8 on the DMX Operator Board (Page Select A) on the operator board are RGBW
    - Light 3 -> Assigned to Figure 3 (channel 8, address 33) -> Faders 1-4 on the DMX Operator Board (Page Select B) on the operator board are RGBW
    - Light 4 -> Assigned to Figure 4 (channel 8, address 49) -> Faders 5-8 on the DMX Operator Board (Page Select B)on the operator board are RGBW
    This way I can have individual colors on all four lights at different times.
    I just have 0 understanding of how to program the lights to be assigned to different faders/page selects on the DMX Operator.

    I need help programming cold spark units with a DMX board. The have DMX inputs and can be daisy chained. I have no idea where to start... Anyone have step by step instructions? Here's what the cold spark manual says: Channel 1: 0 = Spark effect off, 1-255 Spark effect on. Channel 2: 0-20 pre-heat off, and the first channel is invalid. 50-100 Pre-heat on, and the first channel is valid. 150-200 Clear material, and the first channel is invalid...???? This makes no sense to me, any help would be appreciated.

      To start, just plug one unit into the dmx controller. Set the unit to DMX address and to channel 1. On the controller select fixture 1 and move channel 1 up. This should correspond to channel 1 of the unit's manual.
