  • Welcome to our brand-new RUclips series on unlocking your laser engraver's full potential, created to help jewellery designers and makers.
In this video, Matt - our product specialist for engravers - will walk you through the EzCAD 2 software to add depth to your jewellery pieces using a process called "Hatching". Hatching is the method used for marking or the deep engraving of text or a pattern, as opposed to marking an outline (or cutting) shapes. Hatching adds lines into your vector artwork for the laser to follow to remove material from the metal and create your beautiful engraving.
This video will show you how to finish off your laser work with a cleaning cycle to remove dust and clean the marked area in a way that only laser power can achieve.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced jewellery maker, this straightforward tutorial will clarify the process and the logic behind the various settings. The tutorial will provide you with the important information that you need to know to save you going the long way around!
