- In today's video, I'll be testing the Nvidia GeForce GT 620. This low-end GPU was originally released in 2012. In today's video, I'll be finding out how usable it still is in 2021. Does this gpu and it's 1GB of DDR3 VRAM still hold up today? Let's find out!

I have one of these little guys I got from newegg years ago for free when I bought my PSU. It is a great little backup solution for having a video out for AMD cpus that don't have integrated graphics when just trying to diagnose hardware without installing a bigger gpu that needs external power and such. I don't use it for gaming or anything though.
I'm using my GT 620 in the exact same way right now! It's came in very handy testing out a old pc that I got which only has Displayport and VGA out. Since I did not have any of those two cables laying around, it was very easy just putting this card in and testing if it actually worked! (it did luckily!)
@@TygoDoesStuff They are great for this purpose. I would never recommend anyone spend any money on one just to have but if someone just has one they got from a prebuilt, were given or something like that they are worth keeping a round as a backup solution just in case.

I feel like the GT 640 (the lowest end Kepler card, barring the highly illustrous GT 630 V2) was the real star of the low-end 600 series, as it was pretty much the same thing as a GTX 650 with slower memory and could be found in MANY pre-built PC's. If i remember right, there is even a rare GDDR5 version, which honestly IS just a downbadged 650.
I own a 4GB version under the same cooler as your 620, made by Club 3d, and it's surprising how much that dinky little thing can still do. Of course it pales against the RTX 3090 in my real gaming PC, but you have to give it *some* credit ;)

I'm watching this video using the GT-N7000 original Note. Sadly, I can't find a battery replacement for it and the battery lasts about 1 hour and 7 minutes from 77% to 10%.
Ooohh the original note. The only note series phone that I own is a note 4 with a broken screen and I sadly can't find any replacement screens for it :(
I am struggling to find drivers for this ? I used the Geforce now it said it couldnt connect to nvidia, Is that because the driver is so old or is it because my wifi is bad or something like that ?

Broo i have the same card but when i play with it there are some gliches happening after every 2h, it usually crash my pc and it turns off, then i have to wait like 2 more h to have it running again
That probably actually has to do with your power supply it sounds like. Or it could be something with your gpu but I've never heard of such an issue with these cards

What is the price of the 1GB model as I am thinking about purchasing one in the future since I have a Lenovo desktop and it supports this specific graphics cards. (My integrated graphics is a intel HD 4400). Do you think I should also buy it?
I got the 1GB model for €20. If you can get one at that price it's definitly an upgrade over the intel HD 4400!
Is this gpu good for games from 1999-2008? I'm planning to get the gt 620 512mb oem. My monitor res is 1080p but I'm willing to play at 800x600 to 720p
Yeah for that erra of games this card should be able to run the most part of them
@Victoria Vera it is a terrible card. I got it for around $15 and it couldn't even play Doom 3 at 60fps without dropping the resolution to 1024*800 medium setting. I just got GT 730 1gb ddr5 for $25 and I can play many games at 720p 60fps now. I can play Mafia 2 (2010), CoD MW (2007), Tales of Berseria (2017), Fallout 3, and many more games before 2013 at 60fps (fluctuating). For gaming I'd recommend GT 1030 ddr5 or gtx 750 minimum even for older games (7th gen consoles era games) for targeting 720p/60fps.
How i overclock it ?
You can overclock the card using MSI afterburner
my gt 620 has a clock of 810 and mem of 897 without overclock.

hi i have gt 620 OEM Lenovo (red PCB) subvendor is MSI , but on GPU Z its show the GPU is GF 119 not GF 108 how about yours ?

Oh oof, I tested that laptop quite some time ago and its not good for geaming yeah. Hoping for you that you'll get a upgrade to something better somewhere in the near future!

It's not that bad of a gpu but i do get it if you want to use it for gaming since it doesn't run any games particularly well
I play CSGO max only 40FPS, but minecraft can go up to 600FPS (lunar 1.8.9)
Lunar is a really good fps optimizer but 600fps is a really good result!
