Thank you I understand your frustration,,,love all you teach us and looking forward to your next quilt along, or block of the month , I quilted along on your last mystery quilt and mine is ready to be quilted, just waiting on my quilting machine to be fixed its at the spa as they say , was trying to learn ruler quilting and hit the ruler !!!🤯🤪😭 I think I'll stick with free motion quilting. Love all you do, May God Bless you and yours.
Claudia, great info. Don't like the churn dash block but when you made the Greek Cross I couldn't believe the difference. Please would you tell me how big the pieces need to be for a 12 1/2" unfinished economy block. I've seen a few tutorials but they were confusing and as a self taught quilter I need help. Thanks!
I love that Greek Cross too and it's kind of amazing that just a quick flip makes such a difference. Try these measurements for the 12 1/2" economy block...One 6 1/2" square, Two 5 1/2" squares cut 1 time on the diagonal and Two 7 1/4" squares cut 1 time on the diagonal. Good luck.
I love how you make your quilt and I'm learning so much from your chanle and I love the quilt. And do you have any free download pattern s for them. And have a wonderful day 😃
Claudia, I like your videos so much I had to pause in the middle--I couldn't wait to tell you. I like that you don't not cut out your ums, if a step takes a little long, if there are choices. I've been quilting for 30 years and have taught quilting too, but I get a new tip I didn't know or had forgotten every time.
Hello! I hope you had a wonderful day! I had another busy day in my sewing room getting something ready for filming on Easter Monday. Now I get to sit and relax and watch you while I hand quilt! I hope you have a Happy Easter weekend and a beautiful week ahead! Thank you for posting this video and your time to make this for all of us to enjoy!
I have done fussy cutting in the past; but, that was for Stack and Whack. I was looking at some new prints last Sunday. Mickey and Minnie Mouse would be cute on a child's quilt, or ever on an adult's quilt (because I have always loved Mickey Mouse).
Fussy cutting can also be super helpful for English Paper piecing, especially if you are trying for a kaleidoscope effect where pieces meet, (each piece of the quilt in exactly the right part of the motif, to get the mirror effect.)
I got some really pretty fabric ideal for fussy cutting. Your video is helpful! I decided on the sawtooth star with the 5 1/2 inch center and alternating with a sawtooth star with a modified 5 1/2" 9-patch in the center which has a 3 inch fussy center square.
Thank you so much for this video, my best friend gifted me some curated fat quarters and one has these beautiful long horn skulls on them with flowers that I absolutely want to feature in a quilt, any one of these patterns would be perfect ! 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Noted! I never realized I did that in this video. Here’s a link to my companion blog post. www.createwithclaudia.com/2022/04/how-to-fussy-cut-fabric-and-7-easy-quilt-blocks-that-are-ideal-for-it/ It has pictures of all of the finished blocks! Hope that helps! Thanks for watching anyway!
I'm confused on the sawtooth star on how you do flying geese on all four rectangles yet the pattern call for only 4 squares 3x3? Would this not take 8 if you use 2 on each rectangle @? Or did I miss something lol. Love the videos
Hi Donna - I had to think about your question for a couple of days. I re-watched the video and all I can say is GOOD CATCH! I will post a correction comment. It should be 8 squares like you said. I was having so many problems with this video when I made it and this is just another one to add to the list. Ugh! Thank you so much for asking the question. I really appreciate it. Have a great day!
@@CreatewithClaudia thank you so much. I didn’t want to sound rude or anything and since I am new to quilting, I thought I was just a bit off on my calculations trying to figure it out ha ha So glad you set me straight. Thanks again
I always appreciate when someone points something out that might be wrong. Sometimes I start talking and filming and I say the wrong thing without realizing it. Thanks again and have a great weekend!
**CORRECTION** Thank you to a sharp eyed viewer for catching an error. For the Sawtooth Star block you should cut 8 three inch squares NOT 4.

Thank you.
Why is the obe block called "economy block"? What makes it economy?
Good question. I don’t know why it’s called that. It’s an old block. Thanks for watching!
Good job but your camera is too far away. Can't see close up on anything.
Thanks for the suggestion and for watching.
Ma perché non parla un po' meno? È decisamente troppo!
