chris, you are my hero!! you are exactly the kind of teacher i’m aiming to be one day. i have a few pretty intense anxiety disorders and i’m autistic, but you make me believe i can do it despite of and in addition to those struggles! your patience, dedication, kindness, honesty and drive to make people smile is ridiculously inspiring to me, and i hope one day i can emulate even a fraction of that positivity. thank you for leading the way and changing so many lives!!! ✨

Hi 🌺 I have an autistic brother of 8 years old, I love him to death and the day of my birthday he told me happy birthday.
It was the best gift ever. I know all autistic people are different from each other and my brother stopped talking when he was one year and a half/two years old. So it was an amazing gift.
I truly believe you can do it girl! And I hope that a lot of kids will get inspired by you!
I myself would have loved to have a teacher that would have helped me believe in myself I struggled at school and felt less intelligent then the other kids. I would have loved a teacher who believed in me.

One of my best friends has a disability wher his muscles deteriorate. And one thing I learned is that every one is human. We al look different and that's how God made us. A disability does not make someone "non-human". We all want to be loved and that is what makes us human. So much love to you wher ever you are on the earth. I'm from South Africa ♥️🙌🏻.

I discovered this channel a couple years ago while browsing RUclips during a slow evening shift at an insurance job. It sparked something in me and helped me to discover that I wanted to be a part of helping and understanding people from all walks of life. I am 35 and have never been to college, but in a couple weeks I begin working towards my Bachelor's of Sociology degree. Nervous and excited would be accurate words to describe how I feel but I just wanted to say thanks for doing good things in the world and caring for people unconditionally.

For years now at Christmas I would make DIY gifts for family and friends that I thought no one really liked. This year a local small shop in my area saw my sea shell Christmas trees I made and wanted to sell them at the shop. I thought I can’t do that the trees are not that great or artist and no one will buy them. I made and sold 50 sea shell Christmas trees this year and I can’t believe they sold or people would like them…but people loved them and they sold. I got out of my comfort zone and just did it.

Bianca I too have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome- as well as my 10 year old son, who is also on The Autism Spectrum. You can do this! 10 years ago, I was wheelchair and walker bound. But now I'm well managed and rarely use a cane. I've titrated off 18 medications. I'm homeschooling my son & following my dream of inspiring others through my blog & channel. It's possible! It takes a lot of intentional use of energy, self care, and mindset practices. But it's possible. And we need people who are Uniquely-abled teaching our children. We can understand them, resonate with them, in ways that others without the experience can never identify with. I know some days are almost unbearable. But I also know following our dreams is the life-force that makes those days worth it! I believe in you my fellow zebra 🦓 Sending you big big ❤️

What you said about being anxious doing what you do.. and how you still feel like that anxious 25 year old is exactly how I feel.. but you just gave me a push to try again. If you had doubted yourself like I am doubting myself.. and you had not pushed forward this channel wouldn't exist.

But the best way to learn is from experience 🙂 Appreciate Chris’s message to give things a try even if we aren’t 100% confident. Always remembering those who are and appear the most confident always started from somewhere, tried, failed, learned, tried again, and grew

You are an inspiration to me Chris! As a person on the spectrum, I want to become that teacher that provides students with the right help and let them know that there’s no limits to what they are capable of. I want to let people with disabilities to know that it may take a lot of hard work to get to the goals you want to get at, but anything is possible. I had family and teachers in high school who’ve doubted me and my success in the future academically, mentally, emotionally and physically. I proved the haters wrong and hope that when I get my masters for special education that my students can be comfortable being around me and know that I’ll help them in anyway possible to be put in the best position for success. You’ve taught so much Chris that I’ve never was acknowledged with and the more I watch your videos, I acquire more knowledge abt myself and people with other disabilities and these videos make me happy so I thank you again for being here on RUclips interviewing others. It allowed me to find a path to the missing part of my identity that I had not found until I found you and your videos. Can’t wait to be a teacher for my future wonderful students soon!

i'm so glad i found your channel a couple years ago. i am on the milder/higher functioning side of Autism and i watched many of your videos and i'm a bus monitor now for little kids who have mental or physical disabilities and i learned so much through your videos and how to interact with them. you don't treat them like they're different. you treat them like anybody else who doesn't have a disability. i also learned that in one of the training courses i was required to take for my job, so you basically said the same thing as that video and i already knew that stuff anyway because of watching your videos! :D you're an amazing teacher through these youtube videos and also you're a super cool person ^_^ thank you for sharing these videos. and my job also gives me something to relate to the kids to as well. there's a nonverbal kid with Autism on my bus and a nonverbal child who is wheelchair bound and because of your videos with nonverbal individuals, i learned that they can understand us and have their own way of communicating, you just have to understand their way of communicating. now, i'm not good with words, so hopefully i came across well with what i'm trying to say here. much love

thank you for being such an inspiration. i wholeheartedly wish I can become a truly human person like you. that intro, about pursuing whatever you want to do, to just keep on learning everyday without thinking too much about how it's gonna end, that's what i needed today. it felt like a huge hug. thank you so much!

Chris, I love your videos. It's amazing to see the start of your evolution with SBSK. I have learned so much and been so humbled to "meet" these unique and pure people you spotlight. I especially was moved by the spontaneous music you made with Caleb. I also am deeply touched to see the deep love and devotion of their parents and families.

Chris. You are amazing. A few years ago. I wasn’t planning on going into teaching. Now I’m in early learning and love it. I have a child who has special needs and from your videos I’ve been able to connect and I’ve seen her learn. She’s nonverbal and now she’s babbling and starting to talk and it’s been such a joy.

I'm so thankful to see how far you and everyone involved with SBSK has come. Giving a platform to these tremendous human beings and encouraging all of us to live kinder, more understanding lives and considering that what we see on the surface is not even close to the whole picture. I've spent many a night a blubbering mess watching your videos but it always ends in me telling myself to be better because you'll never know what you could mean to other people, even the ones you might not have encountered yet. Thank you for everything you and your team have done.

Oh this is so wholesome and sweet. I love how you said we should go for our dreams even if we dont think we’re capable, because we can get better at it. You definitely came a long way and developed immensely, though you had the basis from the start - you were kind, open minded and knew how to deal with the kids from the start. Amazing journey.
