The meat is expensive but the fruits and vegetables from the street vendors are a life saver. You brought allot of fruits and vegetables for only $10 USD that’s awesomely great
You're right about the fruits and vegetables. But chicken is also cheap.
Absolutely impressive! These are the type RUclips videos the world and tourists appreciate before planning their travel. We patiently wait to return to our Cacique on the Malecon👌.
Glad you enjoyed it!🇩🇴
$10 in Miami, FL will get you about less than half of all you got. Fruits and vegetables are too expensive in the cities.
Yes, I agree. I lived in Fort Lauderdale and fruits were expensive.
@@NorberisR The funny thing is they grow most of the those fruits down here. It's crazy.
My family are trying to get everything situated so we can move and I can't wait, it's taking us a while but we're ready to go
That's great. What city are you planning to move to.
@@NorberisR Higuey or Punta Cana
Thanks for all the great videos! My wife and I are thinking about moving to somewhere on the north coast in a few years, and we can't wait. I especially love the idea of planning the week's menu based on what you can find from the street vendors... The uncertainty of it really appeals to me. I can't find passion fruit, but I can find guava? No problem!
That want be a problem because you will always be able to find both here😁. You and your wife are welcome, I hope to see you here on the island one day.
Great video Norberis very educational, l love buying mangos from the trucks also coconut water
and the meat inside. The smaller mangos are 10 for $100 pesos and the big ones are 5 for $100 pesos.
In New Jersey the big mangos are 1 for $5 Dollars (250 pesos). I used to live in Santo Domingo but now
live in Puerto Plata where there is zero traffic jams, Santo Domingo is way too crowded.
Thank you🇩🇴
Thanks for showing the Dr your awesome.
No problem 😊my pleasure 🇩🇴
❤ how all your topics are relevant to those looking to broaden comfort level with many facets of the DR. I will always drink up your content.
Thank you. I'm glad the content is helpful.
Wow!!!!I could never get all this here in England!! I love how abundant the Caribbean is!! You are right about fruit trees in the Caribbean. Jamaicans are surrounded by fruit and if you are lucky enough will have lots of different crops!! I wish I had a house in the Caribbean now! Things might be poor for some, but I don't think they appreciate the good things they do have! I'd have to pay about £5 for a piec of yam or the two cassavas you bought at the market!
Wow, yes fruit is plentiful here.
Here you can buy a house with 60 thousand dollars in a very safe area, and after buying the house you don't have to pay taxes.
Excelente videos me están ayudando mucho mentalmente para vaya a RD a pasar temporadas ese es estilo de vida que me gusta vivir bien simplifica y sencilla. Gracias.
De nada🤗🙏🏾🇩🇴
Ma'am you are breathtaking and your hair looking so beautiful too
Thank you🤗
Girl....I paid $2.99 for ONE damn bell pepper here in the NE. I'm sick 😂🤣🥲 I cannot wait to leave...just gotta grind for a few more years lol.

Welcome!
I’m an expat from New York in Punta Cana, and I’d love to see a video on the best local restaurants around. I’m used to the fancy restaurants in Piantini, but I’d love to see some local spots or even food trucks or street food.
Just an idea. I’ve seen a lot of your stuff, but rarely comment.
I have videos on my channel regarding restaurants and one food park. You can check them out there.
I am looking to buy a property in punta cana. Any information how to proceed?
Interesting and informative 🇯🇲
Thank you 🤗
Great video, well spoken and put together video
Thanks for watching🤗🇩🇴
I'm in puseto rico, using my own fruit tress to plant because I'm tired of paying high prices per pound for everything
this is the reason why I'm going to retire back to my country, here in Jersey they charge you 1$ for 2 limes which is insane.
That is insane.
That 1 red pepper is $.89 to $1.39 each in Houston depending where you go
@@solentricxinc.9944 yup really expensive to eat fresh healthy food.
I would say that's about $30 in the U.S. Great video 👍🏼
Thanks 🙏🏾
In Turks & Caicos that's $50-$60 US :( ....I cant wait to move. everything is so fresh as well. I have been to DR 3 times and i just love it.
Noberis! I loved this video. I'm going to Santo Domingo for the first time next week. I'm wondering if you can recommend any dishes to try?

@@NorberisR thank you!!!
1. I always like the way you speak Spanish. Lol.
2. I miss thise truck there in the DR with the microphones.
3. You all got a lot of stuff.
4. I remembered when my driver asked me in the grocery store if I wanted some chicken and I said "1 kilo" and he looked at me funny and asked "you're trying to buy drugs? We don't use that here for food.". Lol. Never knew you all used the imperial system.
Lol...kilo😂. Yes we use pounds (libras) system. I speak very fast when I speak Spanish 😁
@@NorberisR Lol...I thought I spoke Spanish fairly well until I heard you speak. I didn't understand a word you said 😭.
Great deals
These Rucca Yoots look amazing..The first time i was in Cristo Rey..my taxi driver did not want to bring me..he told me it was " muy peligroso"..but when i showed him the picture of the girl i was going to visit he agreed to bring me...after that i have been a couple of times and it is not bad at all!!
Rucca Yoots🤣😂. It's really not bad especially in the day time.
You are exactly right about finding a little truck parked in your neighborhood. I stayed in the colonial zone area a whole month and every week I would buy fruits and vegetables from a truck that was parked on my street. I didn't like the other trucks with the unnecessary loudspeakers that rolled through every other day. LOL
I love the Dominican republic!!!!
❤️🇩🇴❤️🇩🇴❤️🇩🇴
Oh LAWD! Here in NY, lower westchester county for $10 I’m just getting like 2 fruit items max .. pint blue blueberries and small strawberry’s. Vegetables are expensive too cilantro cost $2-2.50! 😭
Oh wow!
Loud speakers, "Cinco Pesos, Cinco Pesos" they are awesome and I run for the avocados.
😂🤣
That’s enough for me for one week!!
I just love your videos
Thank you😊
pero usted no está nada mal, se le hace su coro! Vengo del canal en español

MY LOVE HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND..
I will same to you.
I live in a farming area, where we grow for export, primarily potatoes and other vegetables. Here's a comparison with Canadian prices, as I found them here in a small farming province:
- Potatoes are $6 to 7.50 Canadian per kilogram if they're good quality like the ones you picked up, so approximately $3 per pound Canadian, which is approximately 2.30 USD per pound.
- Yucca Root is the exact same price as potatoes.
- Oranges are listed at $1.78 Canadian EACH, or about $5.50 per kilogram, which makes 12 navel oranges approximately 21 Canadian dollars, or about 16 USD
- Limes are 1 dollar each, or .76 USD, so 12 dollars for a dozen
- Grapefruit, if you can find them, is advertised for $2.54 CAD each, or about 2 USD each.
- Tomatoes - 6.60 per KG, or $3 CAD per pound
- Red Pepper - $2.71 CAD each (11 dollars per Kg) or $2.10 USD
- Pineapple - $6.55 CAD each, or about 5 USD
- Onions - $3 CAD per pound, or about $2.30 USD
- Plantains/Bananas - $1 per pound
What you purchased for 10 USD (13 CAD) would cost me:
Pineapple - 6.55
12 oranges - 21.00
12 limes - 12.00
4 grapefruit - 10.16
Tomatoes - 3.00
Onions - 3.00 (you had probably a pound there)
Red Pepper - 2.71
Grapefruit - 10.16 for 4
Plantains - 1.50 (That looks like about a pound and a half to me)
Yucca Root - 6.00
Potatoes - 7.50
My total cost for the exact same thing here in Canada is 83.58 Canadian, which is 63.52 USD at today's exchange rate.
We do have a lot of money up here, but most necessities cost about 6 to 8 times as much here, from what I've seen. Food, rent, clothing, pretty much across the board. There are some rare exceptions such as gasoline, which you pay almost as much for there as we do here.
That's insane, wow!
im moving to DR ill live like a king 😦
it's funny cause some people over there think its expensive for them with their money but if they have us dollars it goes a long way but not for us in the states lol
Ya cadi estoy viviendo allá. Con el retiro en usa 🇺🇸 te muere de hambre
In LA at Vallarta that would’ve been like $100
All I eat is yucca or green banana with whatever. I skip rice and everything when I’m out there-
What a great video 😊 I was wondering if vendors from those markets hike the prices when they can see you are a tourist? Because I don’t like this dishonest practise I tend to avoid those markets and just shop in large supermarkets. I will be in Punta Cana which is very touristy!
Most of the time they have the prices where you can see ..
Greta video!
Thank you!
Yup 💯💯correct
Or, if you're a dumb foreigner like me traveling around the DR right now you can blow $200 bucks in 4 or 5 days! Some of that was gas and a cable car ride in Puerto Plata and I was also with a Dominicana that I met online. In another video Norberis talks about picking your struggle. You will have to pay everything for her and it starts to feel like you're being used. I went to her house though and she is very poor but has good family and she is taking a class that hopefully will lead to work. I rented a car and driving here is very stressful. Doing Airbnb everywhere I want to go for about $30 a night US. Cabarete in the north is nice. Beautiful beach and less busy than Puerto Plata and Sosua. Sosua is a bit sad in my opinion. Old men and prostitutes. Still ahead are Las Terrenas and Boca Chica. Sorry to use your site as a travel log but I think like many men that follow you, they will want to know these things. I would do it differently if I came again. No car rental for one. VERY expensive and a constant source of stress.
Yes car rentals are not worth it, you're paying most of the day to have your car parked somewhere
because everything is very close by, you will drive 30 minutes to the beach and park your car
or visit somebody while your rental car is parked all day...
In NYC will get you the tomatoes(3), oranges(2) and one yuca. P.s, don't forget to being your bag, otherwise is a $1.25 for the reusable bag.
Wow 😳
Aquí en ny
Me gusta yuka! I also love yuka chips.
I like yucca too😋
You can’t even get a Big Mac meal for $10
A Big Mac is $10? Wow!
My LORD Norberis. If I didn’t see you do it I would not believe it. Why do we buy these vegetables at Jumbo and La Serena when I am there. It’s way cheaper that way. Now I know things going to change. You let the cat out the bag Norberis. Nice video 👌
Thank you. You will have look for these type of trucks next time you are in Puerto Plata.
