Silly review. Comparing a now 35-40 000 EUR car with a 60-110 000 EUR car. This is like comparing a Miata to a 911. You will now get a new xc60 2017 with almost everything as standard for 40 000 EUR. The XC90 2017 has a long waiting period and starts around 60 000 EUR but you will spend more. Add leather seats and some basic extras (like LED) you will look at 70k. I'm guessing the new XC60 2018 will start at around 40k but realistically you will have to pay 50 000 EUR. Like always; It's a question of price. Most people who look to spend 30-40k EUR can't just stretch to 60-80k just because it is "nicer". I just ordered a (almost) fully loaded XC60 D4 AWD directly from the factory in Sweden for 36 000 EUR, including winter tires.
Former XC60 R design owner. If you are the type who cares about driving dynamics and comfort, plus things like storage, cargo capacity, and value, and less about the infotainment prettiness and gadgetry, the old XC60 is right up there. The nav on the new one sucks too, so that's a waste. The new versions of Volvos lack buttons and require the driver to look at the screen to do many functions which is very distracting. You can't switch into sport mode to pass or pull out into traffic w/o rolling the wheel around. The steering is numb, but otherwise is fine. He's expecting it to be sloppy like a Toyota and not respond to the road.
And to go further afield than just the Germans, and at various price points, there's the well-rated Mazda CX5, at one end and a Land Rover Discovery Sport at another (or can you be interested in the Jag F-Pace?) Good lists of the segment in higher and lower ranges here usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/rankings/Luxury-Compact-SUVs/ and here usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/rankings/Affordable-Compact-SUVs/
Good luck finding a place to put your wallet, change, keys, or other small items in the new versions of Volvos. A couple of very tiny spots is all you get.
Greetings from Sweden. Forget this car (if you plan to buy a new one). The brand new XC60 is out now. It is light years ahead compared to the old one... The old XC60 is a great car, but it's getting boring, tired and very outdated. Let it kick the bucket and greet the new XC60... ;-)
Melissa H Well everything that was said in the video for one is true. If you want a really great and solid Volvo you should go with an XC70 or XC90 which both are incredible! What Volvo are you coming from?
Chris Frank well I totaled my s40 so I'm looking at a SUV.... it's either this or a Jeep. I actually like the old center console configuration and smaller size so?? I'm more concerned about the mechanic stability. My s40 was bulletproof....
You also might want to look at the v60Cross Country. It'll drive more like your s40, but give you a bit of SUV feel. It's another one due for a redesign pretty soon, so should be able to get decent deals.
comfort, economy and safety... is all a car needs too be.
The XC60 does have a "full time" rear view camera. Just push the camera button and it displays it.
I have this same 2017 XC60 and I do not look to change it with the newer models.
I have one as well and actually prefer the interior and dash of the 2016-17 much more than the newer model.

Absolutely correct. Stupid review.
I like a car that drives well, sits well and is safe. You need screens ? Buy a television, for God's sake !
This isn’t 1960 anymore. Get with the times
Well said! Keep it simple, no screens.
Gracias por los subtítulos!
I'm holding on to my 1987 Volvo 240.
Beautiful

I agree 100%. the controls via touch screen takes way too much effort and requires me to focus on the screen instead of the road.
Nice design
Did you take wings home?
Love the car.
i used to hit my friends with the volvo s80 head rest butten when i was a teen XD it was the best
But... XC90 costs almost double the cost of XC60... and once more: But! :)
Please redo/get rid of the tag at the end of the video.

What are the XC60s competitors? He only mentioned xt5 and rdx but I know there are more
BMW X3 and Audi Q5.

Is this a xc60 or a xc90 review lol I can’t tell
Did he mention that with discounts (or lack thereof) there is about a $8,000 difference from 17 to 18?
This is the Volvo xc60 from 2016

its easy being a car reviewer.. you just compare too something more expensive and complain.
Durango has all 3 seat features.
Great feature when all your kids are acting up.
Ansr Max Used it many times already to give junior a head wack.

Xc60 sucks. That's coming from a mayor Volvo guy. XC90 all the way! Would rather have a 1st gen XC90 vs this bitchy soccer mom Volvo...
Chris Frank what's your dislikes. I was looking at this. This will be my second Volvo
