1:00 Looks like steer assist will crash you into oncoming traffic..i would rather crash to back end of slower vehicle than have head on collision with fast moving car..or truck
Knowing regulations and lawsuits and company's desire to avoid the latter, I'm guessing that it accounts for oncoming traffic somehow rather than send you into it. Still, it would be disconcerting.
Great review as usual, thank you !. The extra prices are bordering on the insane same with Audi / Bmw / Merc and now even Volvo. 1000 Euro for a rear camera that costs about 20 Euro plus a bit of wire ? Cars are gettting too expensive compared to average incomes.
It sounds like this guy hates Volvo lol...... I mean, the car is suppose to assist driver not taking over, at least not yet. And Volvo is trying to refresh itself and become a true luxury brand over time, so don't be surprised if the price is higher than the old ones, because the whole car itself is better designed and more luxury than ever before... overall i really like this car and probably gonna get a T6 soon.
Another great review. Did they get rid of the integrated pop up booster sests for kids in rear from last generation. Safe cars and great features. Hope this ones better quality wise last one we had, had engine mount, electrical, leaking side winscreen, rear cameras replaced twice. Sat nav function on our was very clunky and not that great to use. No more volvos for us.
My 2011 V70 rdesign has the booster seats but my next car the XC60 doesn’t have the booster seats but I did see it as an option for £550 I think it was.
How many other cars from the ones that you reviewed recently had such an advanced and configurable high quality sound system? For the home range, even only a speaker from B&W starts from several hundreds, so I'm sure the 3k asked for it are worth it.
Probably quite a few, but I am not an audio person, and I don't know how to review sound systems. This one may have be the easiest to configure for a layman, like myself.
Find a place w/o heavy traffic to test next time. If things went bad with that truck there it could get ugly. And on lane assist test two you were not going to collide so it let the turn happen. They don't want it jerking the wheel in tight conditions unless necessary.
This car is up there with the Germans. People expect them to have some sort of magical discount vs them, but they sell lower volumes so that would be impossible. Like everything, it will be better in some ways (seat comfort, styling, safety) and worse in others (dynamics, steering feel, storage space). It's personal preference. I'm considering this and the new Acura RDX in upper trim, and even the Lincoln MKX black label (used only). The Germans are fine but we don't want the hassles some give you with those.
Two problems with those safety systems: 1. Those systems would take the driving from the driver, espeacialy a dynamic driver. On one instance I heard that the intervantion of the systems almost made a volvo driver crash, in a sporty (not wreckles) driving. 2. If you need those systems, you shouldn't drive in the first place. Good thing they didn't work on your test run.
Firstly, yes, you don’t try the safety options on the public road… why? Easy! Did you try the airbugs? And also we must know if we go at 120mph and hit a truck at the other way of the road, did the airbugs open enough fast? Secondly, did you activate the safety options? (Because on everybody other, they work… as for me too) And last, yes it is expensive… so Rolls Royce… it is not a car for everybody… so what? Don’t buy it!!! Buy something that is best for you…
I would have to choose between this xc60 and mb glc (coupe). But for 75K eur...I am already in bmw x5 with 3.0d 6-cyl, not so loaded but anyway ....soooo :D
The best reviews on youtube
one of the best car reviewers on RUclips, great voice
What a great review, I especially like that you tested the safety systems and shared Volvo's respons. More of this 😏
Great review. My new XC60 arrives next week.
Please let me know how you like it in a couple of months, when you break it in, and get used to it.
Our XC60 Inscription T5 is coming in 2 months I couldn't get it because of the windscreen not being available but I'm still exited
1:00 Looks like steer assist will crash you into oncoming traffic..i would rather crash to back end of slower vehicle than have head on collision with fast moving car..or truck
krokodil196 no, it will set the car to auto destroy so that not any other vehicle is destroyed .
Knowing regulations and lawsuits and company's desire to avoid the latter, I'm guessing that it accounts for oncoming traffic somehow rather than send you into it. Still, it would be disconcerting.
Have a T6 Inscription and think the MPG is perfectly fine and you get a lot of power and speed. Beautiful car.

Mike A You beat me to that just for 12 minutes, nonetheless amen to that.
I think he was talking about the 360 camera. Can't get that from China for 20€.
100 euros worth of cameras plus maybe 50 for the computer that puts it together. Let's say 300 euros to make it look like factory installed.
Rear view camera on a new Škoda Superb costs around 700€ as well.
so if JUST a stupid rear view camera cost 700 in a stupid skoda, you complain about a 1000 euro 360view camera in a volvo?
Thanks Marek. Great review.

love your humor,good review though
The price is science fiction.
4Figgis and what is bmw then?
Good old European prices. Taxes built in. But they get "free" stuff.
Thanks Marek, what about the plug-in hybrid version compared to the D5 ?
+Didier Chiron it's not available yet.
Great review Marek! I'd love to see you review the T8 version reviewed!
Wow, one of the best revieuws.
very good review, keep doing great work
Is the steering wheel standard?
For the time being :)
But now that you mention it, one day it may be an option, as carmakers will move towards autonomous vehicles.
great review!
What is the purpose of those 2 cans of compressed air under the boot floor?
They are for the rear air suspension to operate, when the engine is turned off.
What do you think which is better: r design front sats or iscription front seats? Are r design front seats too hard? Best regards!
I have no clue. You have to sit in both, and decide for yourself.
The tail lamps looks damn sexy!
Great commentary and sense of humour. Liked it.

Great review as usual, but I also want to hear what Anna has to say. If I miss the link, is there a way I can get back to it?
Yes, click "i" in the top right corner.
Um, no, not there!
You have to scroll through whatever is up there.

great review (as always;) !!! I'm proud of You Marek ! Kisses from Silesia :*
Autonomous braking?
What about it?
Does it stop before a collision occurs with another car or pedestrian?
Did you see the Euro NCAP Crash Test of Skoda Kodiaq? There are some funny examples on Autonomous braking.
Great review. Love the XC60 but it costs too much!
Great car! Love it!
Please review Swift 1.0 BoosterJet!
There are so many safty systems in this car, is there also something for safer sex that volvo offers?
Wait, no rap music Marek? ;)
Relax people, the base model will cost just under 40K, it is competing with X3, not X5.
a kiedy polska wersja? :)
O 3 PM. Przez pomyłkę ustawiłem wersję angielską na 3 AM, zamiast PM.
Marek Drives no to już wiemy co dziś będzie;) Super !!! Czekałem na xc60 z niecierpliwością.
No to PL też wypuściłem wcześniej. Miłego oglądania.
Jakub M zawsze ogladam dwie wersje, z jednej strony merytorycznie podobnie a z drugiej zawsze jakis smaczek sie znajdzie:)

Priest Stocker Agreed. So does mercedes benz. Bmw. Bugatti. But for safety, volvo second to none

This is supper to be a review Ana comparable between older version and new but this is only his complaint list
Stupid ... except by the music ...
Poor Anna :-)
Fucking CDs?!?
Why BMW didn't buy Volvo ?
The old xc60 was ugly but the new one is really handsome
JD Power ranked Volvo third worst in initial quality for 2017 after Jaguar and Fiat.
siphonsnob In the US...
Probably means that americans dont take as good care of their cars
siphonsnob i
too expensive for a Chinese car! I'll stick with range rover!
qwert2017 email isnt range rover an indian car? loser
LI Wang. Range rover is not an Indian Car, fucking TATA is!
Jaguar Land Rover has been a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Motors since 2008.
qwert2017 email lol! Ranger Rover is owned by indian Tata motors....
The cars are still made in sweden
I would advise not wearing sunglasses during a presentation,
I wish I could tell the sun to go away :)
