For this, and a variety of other reasons, it is not commonly used in mass-market tobacco products, however, nonetheless, it is smoked and consumed in a variety of ways around the world, and is known by a variety of different names, including, but not limited to, Wild / Aztec Tobacco, Thuốc lào, Mapacho, Makhorka (маxорка), and more. Nicotiana Rustica certainly is quite the interesting thing, that is for sure.

For those of you who are unaware Jacob is a 13 year old boy. Ran away from home because parents caught him smoking cigs. This is the effects of tabaco on aging ladies and gents. In about twenty years we will see Jacob appear as a 60 year old man. He will be 30 at the time
Nicotiana Rustica was smoked more widely back in the day. It's called peasant's tobacco in Denmark, because it's easier to grow and was commonly grown by peasants; Nicotiana tabacum(normal tobacco) can grow in Denmark, but it's harder and there isn't a tradition of growing it.
many nicotiana varieties can be grown in colder climates and some select brands have done this for example german Rothändle filterless cigarettes are (or at least used to be) mostly german grown nicotiana tobacum subsequently aged into dutch style zwarre/shag, would be very cool to see companies in central and northern europe get into this again both for cultural and ecological reasons
The plant is called Thuốc lào in Vietnam, and is most commonly smoked after a meal on a full stomach to aid indigestion, or along with green tea or local beer

In the Middle East this is a widely popular tobacco used in the “Tambak” hookah. The hookah water helps tone down the harsh burn flavor of the smoke. If you’re ever in the Middle East try ordering Tambak and you’ll find it much more pleasurable than a standard pipe!

I used to grow this type for some time. They are good to grow in more cold countries because they're more resilient. Many Russian cigs have them. In Germany we also call it "Bauern Tabak" which translates to Farmer's tobacco.
It is the tobacco used in traditional first people medicine. Meant to be mixed with sage, sweet grass and other medicines ( helps with flavour, keeping lit, and buzz )

I smoked some beautiful Native American heritage tabacco (very similar to this) and it was one of the craziest experiences of my life. Truly sacred, it was almost psychedelic.

I smoked some green tobacco from the native Americans in prison... They grow it on the yard mixed in with the tomatoes and stuff but I'm pretty sure they are "allowed" to have it for religious purposes

You should try Dokha. Stronger than rustica by volume. It’s a mix of tobacco and afghani flower which also has nicotine. Dokha is Arabic for dizzy and it was named that way due to sailors falling overboard from the duzz it delivers. As I’m typing this I just heard you say dokha haha never mind. Cheers. Try matches or a help string though. Butane makes the smoke harsher

I smoked 15 years, I know the toll it takes on your body. But I'm not here to argue, I'm glad to see people becoming less interested in it generally, to each their own and I don't have anything against smokers, I doubt most people who smoke care though. I used to role my own cigars and would do it with whole leaf. You basically grab a handful of different tobacco leaves at around the same length and grip them together. This is what is then put in binder and then rolled around the wrapper leaf. I would always make a few strong cigars and would include a few of these in the blend.

I bought some from LeafOnly about 7 or 8 years ago. Didn’t seem too much stronger but it did taste different.
Saint James Perique is the strongest and best tasting I have smoked and blends well with Rustica and Virginas.
Also the Rattray’s tampers are great and the Czech tool is great for scooping out the dottle.

P.s. rub the tobacco between your fingers before packing the pipe, smokes better, tastes better, and burns more evenly. Meerschaum pipes burn cooler and rubbing the tobacco will help with the heat.

I have used Nicotana Rustica... It is a ceremonial tobacco used by First Nation people... it is NOT used to get high, what it does is cause a DMT release from your Pineal gland.
I have used Nicotiana Rustica prepared as a Tea and ground down very finely and used it as a snuff/snort powder.
What normally happens is a feeling of tiredness comes over a person and while you can fight through the tiredness, it is best to go to sleep/bed when the tiredness get a little intense. Once you fall asleep, the Pineal gland activates the LUCID dreams start.
Right before a person falls asleep, a peace comes across the mind. If you are the type of person who has trouble sleeping due to a CHATTY/OVERACTIVE mind, your mind will suddenly go quiet and you will definitely notice and love the fact your mind is absolutely at peace right before you fall asleep.
You will then fall into a Lucid dream that will be absolutely incredible and when you wake in the morning or whenever you wake up you will want that dream to happen again or continue going.
The best way to use it is to have an INTENTION (something you want an answer to like WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE or something like that) and it will be best to start your intention meditation a day or two prior to doing this. Don't look or think of getting high, but instead your intention answered.
I never tried smoking it and I wonder if this guy in this video had lucid dreams afterward when he finally fell asleep.
If you use it as a Tea, use only a small amount: less than a 1/4 of a teaspoon ground up to the consistency of Oregano. Put it into a 10/12 Oz cup pour boiling water over it, place a cover over it and leave it for about 10 minutes, then drink rapidly. When the sleepiness comes over you, remember your intentions and go lay in your bed/couch/floor etc... any place very comfortable.
If you decide to snort it, grind it up very fine, even though the Oregano texture works as well, but use even less than if makking a tea, lets say about 1/8 of a teaspoon (please use measurign spoons for accuracy) and just like the tea version make sure you have your intention in your mind.
Tell us what if anything happens and whether you get an answer to your intention... REMEMBER the answer may not be obvious, but remember all you experience you may see the answwer to your intention a day(s) later...
I forgot to mention the growing of this Tobacco is VERY EASY... it grows fast.
When you grow it leave the leaves on the plant till they turn yellow and then pick only the yellow leaves ( all the leaves in time will turn yellow, but pick only the yellow ones at first).
Let them dry out till they are crispy like potato chips and crumble them to an Oregano-like texture with your fingers/cannabis grinder or use a spice grinder to get a fine texture for snorting.
Each plant will produce THOUSANDS FO SEEDS, so you do not need a bunch of seeds to get started, but you certainly will have a lot, even if only one plant grows. I have a ton of seeds from growing just a few plants.
I do not know if the seeds have any medicinal/DMT/Health benefits if smoked/inhaled or made into a tea... I will have to research that.

Tabacco is such a paradox. I am addicted so it takes away my free will, but the whole world tells me to stop, so not stopping is kinda counter culture and an expression of free will. I have just started adjusting the habit so I don't smoke every day like a zombie, but still smoke some times, in a sort of casual ritual way. Smoking other stuff often makes it really hard to quit though, so I actually quit *that ;)* first, to better control my tabacco smoking. I wonder if this can be used as a way of harm reduction.... you can get the necessary amount of nicotine with much less smoke exposure, less Tar, carbon monoxide etc. Does anybody know if it makes any sense?

Definetly, i smoked unfiltered rustica cuban cigarettes and 2/3 cigarettes a day was enough while usually I smoked around a pack

And it's obvious that he had lost a lot of hair too compared to back then.
So no. All that smoking is certainly getting to him. Considering he is only in his early to mid 20s, too young to have lost hairs.

I live in Vietnam and thuoc lao is everywhere here! Literally on every corner there's someone with a big (water)pipe smoking it.
I'm planning to get a little pipe, myself, based in great part on this channel (and Lee Van Cleef in the spaghetti westerns tbh) and I'm definitely gonna grab some thuoc lao to enjoy at home.
