When you import your images, they all are imported into only one plane and they are also animated. I've an animated gif image. Firstly, I convert my gif file into png images. There are total 7 images I have. And then by the same method as you have done, I try to import these images as planes in blender. But when I've imported, they are imported in 7 different planes and they are not animated. How can it works, any suggestion?
Thank you for this tutorial! Two questions... A) Is it possible to make it repeat the animation in loop? B) Can we control the number of frames per second?
for looping go to material properties, there is a drop down menu named base color, look for the "cyclic" checkbox, and to control the timing i haven't find a way other than just exporting the exposures too, so if you have 4 frames and want them to go at 12 fps just duplicate the frames to be in 2's instead of 1's and so on
Hey, idk why but blender keeps importing all the images as multiple planes. So I get 1 plane for each image, all beside each other. I have been scrathing my head bald, someone please help me. Mabey because I'm using .exr ???
Hey so I had the same problem and managed to fix this! I just re rendered the image sequence in the composting tab. My issue was that the image sequences file numbers weren’t reading properly. If you re render the sequence in the composting tab as PNG or TIFF this should work! Hope this helps!
Hey Kai, how do you move the clip in the timeline, for example: if you need to sync a blood squib asset (alpha channel) with the action of a character? Is there a way to edit the animation of the image sequance to play sooner or later in the timeline?
Hello sir I made a glowing pipe mesh in this its looking like light is flowing I just animate mapping and change its rotation of z axis but now when I am exporting in gltf material is not coming along with the mesh when I am baking the emit all images are baking properly but when I am importing them in sequence image and exporting in gltf after that when I am importing only one single image is important not the all sequence image
Hello i have a question? . Is it possible to edit an image sequence in blender like for example, Extend some frames or make some frame paused. If there a way , please tell me .
Hey Kai, thanks for your tuts. I'd like to know if theres a way to get Blender to register my scroll wheel on my tablet when adjusting values in menus. its annoying using so much pen pressure just to adjust a value up and down. Any help would be so appreciated.
Thank you SO much! I tried so much to let a video playing in the background but it wouldn't render in 6 damn frames!!! Lots of love to you, it's working now.
Hello ! I imported an image as a plane, but when i insert it into a 3d backround with lightening, the shadow is only an outline of the plane even tho my image is transparent png, have you got any tips on how to fix that ?
he only hit the play button ( or space bar ) down in the middle. without pressing play it shows a pink plane to me as well. and viewport shading needs to be third or fourth mode! good luck
Hey - can you say more about this? I'm having this problem and I'm not sure i understand enough to get what you're saying but it sounds like it might be the solution, if you don't mind saying more@@BlackMatt2k
so for some reason that did not work. All I got was a literal sequence of frames side by side. You may not know the answer but I want to know how it goes into a single frame that is animated.
For me the problem was that the images weren't named correctly. They have to be numbered and look the same. So [001 ; 002 ; 003] and so on will work but for example [001 ; 002.hold ; 003.hold] wouldn't work.
Hey, your videos are ace. There is very little blender house projection mapping vids, coming up to Xmas it would be great. I'm experimenting with 2 mp4 planes with snow men and snow but it's very poor quality being a noob
Checking “shadeless” is the key Ive been searching for thank you so much!

Try to rename the files as "File 0001" to "File 0007" might work.
Idk if it's too late to say this but if I think if you have "Relative Paths" in the Import Options selected, it'll do that
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH I HAVE BEEN LOOKING LIKE 3 DAYS AND I WAS GOING TO CRY OMG
so relatable TT
This Tut deserves more love.
I've been looking for this information for weeks and...in a two minute tutorial, here it is! thank you so much!

My images keep importing stacked atop each other, as they should, but they won't animate. How do I fix this?

Happy to help!
oh my god, this is the tutorial i wanted. thanks a lot
For those adding multiple image planes, instead of sequentially, simply name the images "frame1, frame2", etc.
Hey Kai, I did exatlly same as you but it just inserts all images as induvidual planes
how do we export this as object and keep the image without turning grey?... :C
Dude, this is so cool. Do you know any software or add-on, which can generate PNG sprites, vertical or horizontally when you export it from Blender?
One word: Thanks!
You are a beautiful man, I don't care what you look like! This was a big help!
Glad I could help 😂
Thanks for this! i have q question, if that ok to set how long of the stop of each image sequence? Thank you.
Do you know how to unlink the image sequences if your using two different characters?
Wow thanks bro, this is what i have been looking for a personal animation post..Thanks
for some reason it splits the frames into three different objects
(edit) i fixed it by manually exporting all the images into a single plane
How did u do that? I need to know

THANKS!! You saved my life!! I tried many times, but doesn't work.

Animate Image Sequences button doesnt work for me
How do I change the opacity?
Hey, man, what did you skip at 2:04? Cause I got only pink plane. Any suggestions?

Este video vale oro

Amazing ! Thanks man !
Can you make a vedio how to animate vfx plz
it doesnt have a animated plane it just inserts all images as induviduale planes
Be sure to check image sequence when importing!
In 3.3 I have to select only the first image when loading, and then manually set the ranges in the material.

Keep on keepin on pal. That sounds like a fun project! Happy early holidays :D
its not. still pink square. did everything exatly as said
What work for me is to change the name of the .PNG file to something simple like fame_01 and so on.
Then you click play.

Can you save this animation as an FBX file and use it in a game engine?
how do you slowdown the animation??
