I always thought the '57 shroud was used '59-'60, but here it is on a '57 engine! you have a really unusual anomaly there, it seems. Nice find!! There were some early 6b/8b that had a RED rubber pull start handle, and a cam that looks very much like the cast-iron model 8 cam. I have an early cam, but no longer have the red pull handle. I wonder if the '57 still has the small intake valve? I thought that changed to the big valve in '59. Nice sound quality in your video.

The 1957 has a much nicer, mellower sound. That longer stroke makes a big difference.

Lovely engines, and you have them running great! Did you restore the 6bs yourself? I'm hoping to pick up a 60102 myself soon as a restoration project and I'm not sure yet if I should leave its aged look and just do a mechanical restoration or if I should paint it too.

I have a Briggs 2 hp engine identical to the one on the right and it's a 1977. There was no change whatsoever in this 11 year time span? Either way, mine also runs very good. Best carb they ever made.

I have a 1955 6BS. I'm wondering if the shroud was just changed to add the recoil. Mine has a rope start and electric.
