After struggling for HOURS with this, I finally figured it out! Here's the steps: 1: Set up a **GENERIC** airplane model in the Radiomaster (i.e. Aileron, Elevator, Rudder) 2: As Josh showed in the video, reverse the PWM 3: Bind the model as per the Aura/Radiomaster process 4: Simply convert the Aura with the field setup in quick change mode to elevon as depicted in the video 5: Do control direction setups/reversals per the Aura field setup This was EXTREMELY simple but the trick was to just use a generic, traditional airplane model in the Radiomaster!!! I had it set up as an elevon airplane in Radiomaster and it would only do split controls (i.e would only command a roll no matter which quadrant I pointed the stick) If you see this, confirm that you have a BASIC aircraft configuration in your Radiomaster!!! I wish that Josh would have addressed this important point in the video. But thanks, nonetheless, Josh for making this important video!!!
Josh...could you address how to link the SA three-position switch to flight modes in Aura? Does it need to be accomplished through the configurator? I noticed that the configurator does not list Radiomaster as a radio option. Thanks for this important video!
I have 2 of these now and have had nothing but trouble with them. haven,t flown the first one. not gonna change my radio's setup just to change channel allocations, and have to rebuild all of my other models to fit the aura 5. i get aileron on both aileron and elevator inputs no matter what I do. Documentation is weak at best. just not interested in spending hours trying to figure out how to make a super simple plug and play item plug and play. if i cant get this to work soon, both of these will be going on sale at the next club flea market! very dissapointed!
Radiolink Byme-D for Deltas (or A for ordinary planes) - twice the stabilizers at half the price. Uses native AETR also. ;-) Or, if you want a full featured GPS On Screen Display unit try the Lefei Sparrow 3. 🙂

Yep, Aura/Spektrum/DSM is for Yanks. The rest of us use AETR, but either can be adapted to work. Of course a Radiomaster TX16S can fly a Spektrum plane and whole heap of other brands. With a Spektrum Tx all that money it cost you only allows you to fly even more expensive Spektrum gear. Enjoy the pain! 🙂
2 things, if you really want people with no clue to use your aura shouldn't YOU program it so it auto corrects channel direction by itself? secondly holding the transmitter at least 5 feet away from your model while trying to bind! does that not sound stupid to you? No? 2 clicks ABOVE bind is a little selection box, its called low power mode. Any idea what that little selection box might be for?? i have bound 100s of multis and planes and helicopters and rc cars and hovercraft and EVERY SINGLE TRANSMITTER since the dx6i that i bought new well over a decade ago ALL have low power mode formerly range check mode baked into the firmware! i,e when i bind to my lowly t16 pro the models are ALWAYS within inches of the tx same as when i bind to my t8sg v2 same as when i bind to my devo 7e rx is usually within the length of a 1500mah lipo o_0 wanna teach suttin? thank you .. controls working now.. just throttle dont do a thing yet
Wow, very cool 👍✌️👌 thanks my friend
👋
How do you use it with a radiomaster receiver? Do you bind both the receiver and the aura or just the aura?
Shouldn't any servo reversing be done in the Aura and not the TX for the gyro stabilization to work correctly ?
i hope this applies for aura 8 afcs too... still struggling make it work correctly with sbus crossfire rx

I have the RadiomSter TX 16 also. Sold my spectrum dx9.
Good to see opentx , not spectrum thanks Josh

I’m new to this. Why would there be a mode without elevators? I just don’t see a possible use for it. Lol thanks for the vid

I found when not using dms,I to set my channel order taer to get the aura to work right.

My radiomaster defaults to AETR. Can the aura light work with AETR or am I forced to go taer
Dean you can flash the TX16s into TAER by default or remap the channels with the Aura config tool.

@@jingadin5181 You could just set up 1 model in TAER to use the Aura stab - if you wanted to!😂
@@ShawnEngland you can just go into inputs and change it there to taer. thats what i did and it works just fine
I still have no idea how to make this work with Spektrum 🤷
