I put mine in a micro F-27. The original flight control board never bound correctly. Replaced it with a racing satellite receiver and a new esc with integrated bec and the aura. It flys amazing. And it was WAY easier to balance on the correct cg.
I don't know why they don't mention it, but if you want the computer software get it from Flex Innovations. The configuration software is common to all their products and it will recognize the board as a flite test board. Change the options to "advanced" and there is a whole bunch of cool stuff to play with. Next project....... model rocket stabilizer. Should be super easy to set up. Also, if you have any of the horizon hobbies 5 or 6 channel oem transmitters that normally are hard to use because you can't reverse servos on them..... No problem with this controller. Also, unlike my DX6i, which only has a 2 position switch, the stock transmitters have 3 position switches. Some of them anyway.
I like this! It won't fly FOR me, but if I understand. It will help keep the PLANE (not UAV) from letting the wind throw it around too badly. God Willing, I really hope I'll be able to fly something with it. Carmine ✈🚂🚙
You MUST be pressing the Aura's Bind button (at least I had to) WHILE powering up the Aura FOR the Satellite receiver to go into Bind mode. ( I do not see this step in this video at 7:22 )
as xjet has been doing lately, i'm confident you guys can master the sub 250g planes and keep people flying... should the need arise... I put in my comment to the faa, here's hoping for the best.
Can you show a flight with that in the NG? I've been running a Runcam Split in mine and thinking of adding a Crossfire Micro RX so room is getting to be a premium. Would love to see just how much a stabilizer improves its flight. Thanks :)
Maybe I missed it, but you got the flashing green light, and then did the change of servo direction for ailerons and elevators. But you didn't come out of the green light flashing mode, did you? Does this change of servo direction feature work while flying? IOW if you do a continual loop, I.e. holding the elevator stick full back, will the servos change direction mid flight? Or does it only work with holding the stick full forward?
I just ordered an Aura 5. Can you design a Ekranoplan firmware? Something which allows roll and pitch to be nearly zerod out, and control to be reduced to throttle and yaw? I want to make a STEM/STEAM RC Flight series and the first project will be done in an urban school yard where true flight would not be permissable but faux 2D flight would be allowed. So the first week would be gyro stabilized ekranoplans. The second week would visit a near by public park with a thriving flight community where normal planes would be used.
I would love to see a video on lipo voltage alarms. I know lots of people time flights, but I think that is too dependent on how you are flying. My alarms currently will get triggered with a momentary voltage drop and it is highly irritating, as I have to land and reset or listen to them beep. Any suggestions for me?!
the Venom alarm (in a red case) resets/stops when the voltage returns above the alarm threshold. it’s higher priced than others. maybe some if the $2 do as well. the design all looks the same.
Hi, I'm using a Futaba radio with SBUS. Do I also need to modify the travel for Aileron/Rudder/Elevator to 125? Haven't seen any videos to this effect for the Futaba. Thanks
Check you mixes!! Two important things not in this video. You can only see this in the Aura Config SW. The default aura config file has mixes for launch and level assist not addressed in this video. 1) Launch Assist elevator angle is pre-programmed for +30deg. You can adjust that in the Aura Config SW. That can be quite a bit of up elevator. Download the SW and adjust as you see fit. I reset mine for +15deg. 2) Level Assist has a pre-programmed mix for elevator vs throttle. At low throttle, the mix setting is -1deg. At high throttle the elevator angle mix is set for +12 deg. I could not figure out why I could never get Level Assist to keep my goblin flying level. FliteTest should document this. That +12deg up elevator was causing issues at high throttle. ie. up,up,up we went. I though it was the goblin, but a bit of it (most of it?? ) was that added mix that I didn't catch until I went into the Aura Config tool.
Nice, but there are a lot of flight controllers that do the same thing for half the price. For example, Hobbyeagles can be set up without a computer. Does this have more functions than one of those?
Josh what spectrum receiver did you use and would it work for the recruit v2 thinking of ordering it for my first wing just getting into all this thanks for any help and advice
Will this flight test Aura lite work with ar410 receiver by spectrum? The FT Aura lite will not get any signal from Dx6e transmitter ? Do you have any idea what could be wrong?
How can I add gps coordinates for the place I want it to fly. I research mines that I see on Google satellite. I can take coordinates, but how can I add that into rc airplane to fly the exact coordinate? It's safer and time wise to send rc airplane to research the place prior going there.
If you use Spektrum satellite Rx you plug into the "Mini B" port (the one shown on their first setup video). If you use FrSky or Futaba (S.Bus) you plug a male-male servo lead from the Rx S.Bus port into the Aura5 "Port B" pins.
There is an indicator on the bottom for the 'default' orientation, but it can be mounted in any 90º orientation if you setup the orientation in the PC program.
Absolutely terrible camera work. Coordinate your camera work with your dialogue and you would be much better and actually able to follow with what you're doing. Especially with the newbies in mind
@@Mark-W5ADK You need to keep power consumption in mind, as well as use a serial receiver (not a remote receiver). We recommend using this mount, with a velcro strap around the unit for extra security: www.flexinnovations.com/product/ft-aura-5-lite-3d-printed-mount/
I'm really excited about the Aura5lite in my Mini Arrow. Now, after I tried to change the switch for the modes on my Spektrum DX 6e, I can't change the setting from 3 axis to 6 axis anymore. after going into the change menu and pressing the bind button the blue lite turns on, but turns green again as soon as I let go. And there is no reaction of the control surfaces as should be. Anybody knows what's the reason for that? Help is appreciated.

Josh didn't follow his usual advice to remove the prop while setting up and testing. :-O
first thing i saw, TAKE YOUR PROP OFF!
Awesome Josh, just hope we can still fly when I get mine since it will be on my door step on the 2nd of March grrrr

This looks like such an easy setup, and six-axis mode will help out a noob like me significantly.

Nano Goblin is an AWESOME plane!
Can we use tbs crossfire rx on this
Since those receivers your using are discontinued, what Spektrum receivers you recommend please?

how do you set throws? Are they set for you by the board?
Can this flight controller do differential thrust and elevons together?
Is 6 axis mode for beginners?
If so what does it do?
Awesome little unit. I think I am going to try one out

So easy to set up it's a dream I really hop you have a CRSF " crossfire " instillation guide.

Lol. Looks damn close to my first build. Still haven't "flown" it. It bit me on the maiden. Lots of blood.
Remove prop before doing this. Also, ready to range test it. Not quite ready to fly yet.

Do a video how to put the arura 5 to the p 38
Will these work with Flysky radios?
Will this work with your Flite test edge 540?
This is dope!
What protocol does the board take from the RX ? Sbus?
If you use Spektrum satellite Rx you plug into the "Mini B" port (the one shown on their first setup video).
If you use FrSky or Futaba (S.Bus) you plug a male-male servo lead from the Rx S.Bus port into the Aura5 "Port B" pins.

Can this be used with FLYSKY
transmitter, yes (it's spectrum), don't think they have any receivers that work with this, though.

Man... The background music is irritating....
BTW... It would have been so easy to put an Arrow indicating the front when the PCB was designed.
There is an arrow on the bottom of the board for orientation.
There is an indicator on the bottom for the 'default' orientation, but it can be mounted in any 90º orientation if you setup the orientation in the PC program.

I wish you get rid of the annoying music and drum beats in your videos !
I find the repetitious background track "music" really irritating. It does nothng for the videos. Please leave that out.

Who needs it. Most transmitters do flaperon/elevon mixing. You're still using that annoying music.
Absolutely terrible camera work. Coordinate your camera work with your dialogue and you would be much better and actually able to follow with what you're doing. Especially with the newbies in mind
Lame. No example of how it works in flight.
Can't get an answer as far as what their required 3d mounting platform is for giant scale. Great service AFTER a sale...
